  1. Dead center. Maybe that's why I'm bipolar.
  2. When I was in high school in Ohio they just started doing emissions testing. A friend got a free car from his grandmother, it was a blue old coupe type car. He took it for testing and it failed. He took it to a mechanic to see what it would cost to repair it, and it was a pretty hefty repair, but the mechanic told him that he should just go out and drive it hard on the interstate for about 30 minutes and then go in and take the emissions test. I don't know what it did to the car, but it ended up passing and he didn't have to make the repair.

Again, just be glad you don't live where I live with a 15GB limit.
  4. Yeah, it's easy to say when they're little, but I hope we can always keep it more about the memory and the meaning. I don't want to give in just because it will make them more accepted. Maybe it's good to be an unpopular kid.
  5. Just looked those up, I was too young for those. I was shocked that they all happened within about a year of each other. What was in the water? I heard the other day Reagan was the first president elected in a year ending in 0 that didn't die in office I remember that one too. I was in my dorm room watching Saturday Night Live and they broke in with a special new bulletin and at first I thought it was a bad SNL joke.
  6. I wasn't alive when JFK was assassinated, but the responses to that post made me think about what the big moments were for someone in my generation. Three historical things come to mind: 1. Challenger Explosion - I can remember being in second grade and watching it launch on tv, and seeing the explosion. 2. OJ Simpson Verdict - I was in my history class junior year when a teacher came into our room and told our teacher what the verdict was. We then had a debate about if it was the right verdict or not. 3. 9/11 - I had just graduated from college and had gotten married and moved
  7. I was reading the thing going around facebook about 50 things fathers with daughters should know. In the list it mentions making memories. With the Christmas season approaching I got to thinking about what my best memories were of Christmas, the memories that last. The things I remembered most were decorating the tree, picking out my ornament, visiting Santa, baking cookies. I don't remember much about the things I got. There was the year I got a bike, and I remember getting a Nintendo and games another year. But nothing much stands out. So I think I've decided that I want to limit Christm
  8. I went out once on Black Friday, later in the morning, after all the rushes. I will never do it again. I hate shopping to begin with.
  9. Kind of makes me want another little one. We just got rid of all our bottles today. First time since November of 2010 that I haven't had bottles in the house. And in about a month I won't have any diapers in the house.
  10. Part of me was with my mom, part with my dad, I wouldn't become whole until sometime 9 months before August of 1979.
  11. I've never in my life had a real tree. We have a fake prelit with white lights tree. My husband doesn't like colored lights on the tree, but I had to have some, so we string a line of red lights around the tree making ours a red and white themed tree. All the ornaments are red, white and silver. I can't wait to put mine up, but I've always said I'd never put it up before Thanksgiving.
  12. I don't own a gun, not because I am anti gun, but because I'm afraid my husband and I would be too tempted to use it on each other from time to time.
  13. Not surprised by this. I raise money for the American Heart Association every year. For the past 3 years my family has walked in the Atalanta Heart Walk (2 years) and the Panama City Heart Walk (one year). We have raised over $1,500.00 for the cause. I tend to think the issue is more lack of physical activity than lack of proper diet, but I think both play a major part. I have two little ones, and I have friends with little ones. I see a lot of kids sitting in front of computer, video games, ipads, etc and not running around in the yard. I know people have looked at me funny when I tell th
  14. The only issue I have is that no one sees their neighbor starve because people don't see their neighbors, and the people starving aren't always in a place where there are neighbors who can help. Our society is very segmented. We have the option to not mix with "those people", and if our neighbor is truly in need there is too much pride for them to admit they can't afford the lifestyle they are trying to portray they live. We idolize the rich, and try to live up to that. Just look at what is popular on TV. Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Real Housewives of whatever city. People sit in
  15. I think the amount of times the police have been called on him is an indication that he has an issue. I don't think that means that he murdered Trayvon in cold blood. It probably means that he was unlikely to walk away from someone that was being aggressive towards him. Of the people that I know that have had the cops called on them, there is usually a good reason the cops were called. Not to say things weren't worked out without jail time, but there was a threat of danger in the moment.
  16. The man has anger issues, I don't dispute that. I'm trying to figure out how that matters in a case he was found not-guilty of. Why do people care so much about this man? There are plenty of other men out there doing what this man allegedly did. Where's the outrage for their victims?
  17. And yet there are people out there that can't even get hired at Walmart. My husband has been out of work for two months. Hasn't gotten one interview, and has applied to every retail establishment in the area. I'd jump for joy if he could get hired at our walmart.

    Why

From my understanding it's pretty much impossible for a healthy adult to get Medicaid, unless you're pregnant. I applied for daycare assistance at one point for my daughters, but they said the waiting list was so long that my kids would be in school before I got approved.
  19. Is that what that noise is? We're not out much after dark, but there have been times in the year that I've lived here that I'll go outside late at night and I hear something making a horrible screaming noise. I told my husband it sounded like someone was being tortured in the woods behind the back field. Scared me to death.
  20. Again, I said I don't think the man is mentally all there. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that he has a substance abuse issue. Two speeding tickets in the months since his acquittal doesn't shock me. I've gotten 2 tickets in one month before, and I've never been on trial for murder. The other incident he showed up at the home he and his soon to be ex wife shared and he came with a girl, who I am assuming is this girlfriend that he is currently in a dispute with. I wouldn't put it past the ex to have blown things up over anger towards him and a new girlfriend. This latest issue is to new
  21. This all boils down to something that is getting worse in society. People are not aware of their surroundings. It's not that they don't move because they are being an ass. They don't move because they have no idea that anyone but them is currently in the store shopping. They wonder malls walking at snail speed in the middle of the walkway. They pull out in front of you in traffic, the list goes on. They are so absorbed in their own little world that they have no idea what is going on around them, and how what they do impacts others.
  22. Innocent until proven guilty. He's gotten two speeding tickets, and a domestic charge that was dropped. I'm not saying the guy is all there mentally, but I won't rush to judgment.
  23. Can I have the password? I am woman...lady is debatable.

    Why

On this we can agree. The one thing I have always disliked about Medicaid is that there is ZERO out of pocket costs. Now I know people are on Medicaid because they are having a financial hardship, but, if someone had to pay a minimal copay to see a doctor or go to the ER they might not go so easily. The way it is now if you have medicaid, at least when I've used it, you don't pay a thing.
