I'm guessing they are voting on Sunday sales in the city of Dallas, not the county at large. If you aren't a resident of the city of Dallas then it's not your concern.

I think you're thinking about Kathy Bookout. She is still on the council. This is a different Kathy that's running.
-
Neither do I. But I still have friends and family that do. I was just surprised nothing had been mentioned about it on pcom since there is usually some debate on public offices.

Kathy Carter and Peggy Howland are running for Post 5 seat.

I guess no one is concerned with the only contested election for the Hiram City Council?
-
I was kidding.

We're talking about smart kids. It's unlikely that it'll affect sports.

Same difference.

In my experience law enforcement is more reactive than proactive. I called a local police department with a name, description, phone number and location of a person I knew for a fact was selling drugs. I was transferred to their drug task force and was basically told that the information wouldn't be acted upon at all.

DALLAS: On election day, Tuesday, voters can cast ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Dallas City Hall Council Meeting Room at 129 E. Memorial Drive in Dallas. HIRAM: The election is set for Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Hiram Community Center

That was my thought too. Knowing nothing, if two people walked up to me and one said they were an SPSU grad, and one said they were a KSU grad I wouldn't think highly of either. Neither would I think lowly of them. I wouldn't think they were lacking or exceptional in any way. In regards to the employer who threw out resumes of schools he didn't recognize, my first boss would trash any resume that had a name he couldn't pronounce, and anyone who lived more than 10 miles from the office. People have their quirks about hiring.

Not sure about Dallas, but Hiram has a contested City Council seat. No incumbent, two new comers.
-
I didn't see any posts about this. Are y'all aware there's an election tomorrow? Or maybe there just aren't that many pcommers living in the city limits of Dallas and Hiram. Why would Poly people not like it? Maybe I don't know what SPSU is. I thought it was like a community college.

Thank you both, I think they're perfect, but that's just their mama talkin'.

Are there a large percentage of meth heads on pcom?

She's cute! And so is your son. Was he part of the blue man group, or a smurf?

Addiction is hell on family and friends.

While I don't agree with her delivery, I wholeheartedly agree with the fact that we should get a grip on lawsuit payouts.

I couldn't agree more. I worked retail while I was in college. I never had much of an issue with rude customers, and I'm pretty sure no one ever complained about my attitude. Having been on both sides of the customer and employee relationship I just tried to be respectful all around and usually got that attitude in return. I will say the one place I see the worst customer service is anything to do with banking. It seems it's very easy to get money taken out of your account incorrectly, and near impossible to get it returned in a timely manor.

There were two people in this thread who questioned the parents allowing an 8 year old to have extensions, so it was either me or the other person. Either way I am pointing out that no one is making the argument you are sarcastically portraying. No one thinks it's ok for a kid to physically harass another kid. The question is, if the girl didn't have extensions, and her natural hair was pulled in the same way would that much damage have been done?
-
In our house parents don't dress up, but our 3 year old is going as a Lady Bug and our 18 month old is a Bumble Bee.
-
Way to twist it and say something that was never said. It is unacceptable for the kids to pull her hair, period. My question is did allowing an 8 year old to have extensions cause the damage to be worse than if she did not have them. And that aspect is where I question the parents allowing her to have them at 8 years old.
-
I have to agree that hair extensions for an 8 year old just because she wants them, and not medically necessary it ridiculous. That does not excuse the behavior of the hair pullers at all, but without the extensions would the hair pulling resulted in the scalp being ripped, or had they pulled her natural hair would they hair have behaved differently.
