  1. You don't have to travel to Powder Springs to go to a locally owned book store. The Book Shelter is in Paulding county, Hiram to be exact, and it is locally owned.
  2. In regards to not finding what you need at the local used book store....The Book Shelter in Hiram does special order books and normally can get them in 2 days. You can stop in and ask the owner or call and ask. She will give you a price on what the book will cost to order it and how long to get it. In regards to Aldi coming to Hiram I wouldn't count that as a grocery store. It's just not my type of store. I would love to see Hiram get a Publix. I hate having to drive to Dallas to go to Kroger or Ingalls.
  3. I just call that lazy. I live in the city of Hiram, and I wanted to vote. I went to the polling place that I had on my voter registration card, but it was apparently wrong. Only vote there when county elections are going on. So I went to the Hiram City Hall and they guided me to where I need to go to vote. If it means enough to you then a couple phone calls could have easily told you were to go. I did it by driving around, but the whole process, even going to the wrong polling location, only took 20 minutes.
  4. The Hiram Coffee House is now Teacups & Cupcakes. They do private parties. I'm pasting the link to their facebook page. Not sure if it will work since I've never tried it before. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Teacups-Cupcakes/153236991414999
  5. I love Dr. Klein's laugh . I was actually in L&D from Wed to Friday, and she was one of the doctors that monitored me. Dr. Tag (can't spell if for the life of me) actually did my c-section on Friday. She was the best, and I'm hoping to schedule my April C-section with her too if all works out.
  6. I know that you don't want recommendations about Kennestone, but for the benefit of others that may be gathering information from this post, I would highly recommend Kennestone, and in particular Marietta OBGYN affiliates that handled my delivery in November of last year. The staff were attentive and caring, and I have no complaints.
  7. Did you try the Enfamil Prosobee? It's soy based, we had my daughter on that until recently. She was also diagnosed with reflux, and was on medicine for that. At around 7 months she was able to come off the medication and switch the a milk based formula.
  8. They don't recommend cereal that early anymore.
  9. My daughter didn't take cereal until she was 6 months, and even then not in a bottle. At 5 weeks we were still feeding every 3 hours and not sleeping through the night. I don't think she slept through the night completely until she was about 4 months old. She's 8.5 months old now, and we do put a dash of cereal in her nighttime bottle and she sleeps pretty much through the night every night.
  10. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will echo, from what I've seen of the Paulding County legal system, it takes over 2 years for a simple criminal case to go to trial. So why wouldn't a complex issue like this take longer?
  11. You can plea nolo once ever 5 years, and you have to pay the ticket, but don't get points.
  12. I do photography as a hobby right now for friends and family, but I've taken photos in the White Oak park, the Hiram city Park, and out out Paulding Meadows. I pretty much only do natural light photography, so I stick to outdoor locations.
  13. We've had dinner there several times, and everything I tried was good. Service was good and friendly. Glad Hiram finally has some Italian food!
  14. I don't know which office you're talking about, but I take my daughter to West Cobb Pediatrics. I switched to them when she was 2 months old because I didn't like the original one we signed on with near Marietta. I have always been called back promptly for my appointments. I also have had to get her in for same day visits twice, and they worked me in without a wait. The staff are always friendly, and we see a female doctor there, but I'm not sure about her name (bad mom).
  15. The one on Powder Springs road is not close to nice places. I used to live in the apartment complex right next to that one when the Aldi was built back in 2001. I ran from that area of town. And I went to that Aldi since it was close, but I only went once and it wasn't worth the savings to shop there.
  16. I wasn't aware that my opinion was only valid after I reached an acceptable amount of posts. Way to make someone feel welcome.
  17. I don't work there anymore, but yes I am the one that did work there.
  18. I also enjoyed the cupcake that I tried from this new business, I haven't gotten to have any of their food yet. Would you also like to imply that I have some sinister agenda? It appears that the coffee house was no longer profitable, and that the landlord made a business decision. If that smells fishy then you know nothing about running a business.
  19. Paulding does have a bookstore. It is located on Main Street in Old Hiram next to the Antique store and across the street from The Olive Tree. The Book Shelter Website The Book Shelter on Facebook They have been in business for almost 2 years in downtown Hiram.
  20. I was just involved in a massive shelf building project. If you're talking about book shelves I can tell you how we built ours. We used 1x10 boards, 8 feet and 10 feet to build either 7 foot high cases or 2, 5 foot high cases. We took 1 x 10 x 8 boards and cut them into 4 foot sections to make the shelves. Our shelves were adjustable so we bought shelve standards 4 per book case and the clips to lay the shelves on. I could probably explain this better in person, and if you wanted to come take a look at them they are at the bookstore I am opening in Old Hiram next to the Hiram Coffee Hous
