  1. I need a children's photographer ASAP for either later today or tomorrow at some point (yeah, I know it's Valentine's Day!) My photographer has canceled on me for the last time. Looking for someone who can achieve a nice bokeh and DOF.
  2. I'm pretty ticked off that they called me 3 times last night to tell me to watch out for a phone call and updates, and nothing this morning.
  3. Per their site under Term Life Insurance and Marriage: Congradulations on finding someone with whom you want to spend the rest of your life and taking the big step into marriage. That says it all to me.
  4. Also, compared with July 2009, there is again a difference of only 0.5%. Not much improvement.
  5. So, compared with July, 2010, the numbers are a difference of 0.5%. I wouldn't be too excited about that, given that, as gators said, many are no longer categorized as unemployed since they are now considered to be jobless by choice, when in reality it is because they gave up.
  6. Are you serious, or is that some of your "fixion" writing? The K-Mart on 278 is anything but clean. The bathroom is dirtier than a typical outdoor-access gas station's.
  7. I think it's an awful idea, and I think this just opens doors for $$ wasted. What happens in a few years when the iPad is yesterday's news...are they going to upgrade every few years when textbooks are relevant much longer than that? And of course the issue of theft. If people are breaking into lockers stealing pants, how many iPads are going to be stolen in lockers, on the school bus, etc. Requiring parents to pay $99 for insurance doesn't sound right either. What about the parents who truly cannot afford that? And if they don't have to pay due to their income, then I don't find that fai
  8. I'm so sorry...I can't imagine how you are feeling having to wait for the news. Lord, Please keep Haley healthy and strong, and help her parents to focus on caring for her and not to worry. We lift little Haley up in prayer and ask for good news Friday. In Jesus' name, Amen
  9. It does work. I started recently using it on my face at night, and I guess some gets on the lower lashes during sleep. My bottom lashes were already sort of long, but now they are definitely longer...I'm not imagining it.
  10. If he did what to her? He wasn't happy. Does that make him a bad person? To the OP...sorry you are feeling so down. I think you just have to realize that it didn't work out for a reason and someone else is out there.
  11. I'm not saying we don't need some type of change. But I don't think this is the solution. This new law is not going to cut the costs we pay in taxes for other people's health care. It is just going to increase it, because more people are going to be on the dole. And people who are currently paying and not getting a government subsidy may then qualify for a subsidy. We will continue to pay just what we pay now plus the new costs of subsidizing many others. And there are still going to be a lot of people who would rather pay the fine and visit ERs and not pay than pay a whole lot more for health
  12. Another difference between car insurance and the health care bill is that EVERYONE has to have and pay for car insurance if they are driving. There are no exceptions to that. The insurance mandate, on the other hand, allows loopholes for some. And why should it matter how many people there are who actually don't drive cars and therefore aren't subject to the auto insurance mandate? The point is that there is a choice. There is no choice with this bill, and it has already begun to have the opposite effects it was intended to have. Insurance companies have scrambled to raise rates considera
  13. I've come to the conclusion that she just flat out doesn't understand anything about the US or global economy. She thinks the economy is improving, but yet posts an article stating poor people are having to use most of their income to buy food, more than they do already. HOW is that an improvement, Zoo? And this is not the stopping point. As said, if fuel continues to rise, so will food. Remember $4-5 gallon store brand milk, when you can usually find it for $1.80-2.50 at "good" times? When fuel surges, so do the prices of staple foods for the poor, such as milk, bread, eggs, rice, wheat. This
  14. And the economy is improving, right? And you want gas prices to rise, right?
  15. It's ME, Steven...Lauren. Lol. Guess you didn't recognize me with my new SN. I will text you later.
  16. That was the most beautiful story...I'm bawling. It doesn't compare, really, but it was so real for me. It took me back to the day that I was told my beautiful, perfect son had hearing loss and those feelings of life never being the same. She is a lot stronger than me, however, because the truth is...I grieve every day. Not for myself, but for the challenges he will face. Thanks for sharing that...I needed a good cry.
  17. Yes, that would be helpful info! Sorry...lol. Just excited I am near downtown Dallas...and the show starts at 8, so I guess 6 or 6:30.
  18. Just got a call from Star 94...won a 4-pack of tickets to see Wizard of Oz! I'm more excited about the fact that I won something, though...that is the first time I've ever texted to win anything, and I won! That was last week after hearing it on the radio when I was sitting in the parking lot after picking up some paint, but they just called today. I had never even given it a thought after I texted. Sooo...I really need a babysitter. Would love to take the kids, but they are 6 and 2 and 9 months, and the show is next Thursday at 8...probably won't get home until midnight or 1.
  19. I hope he's not a parent period. We don't need more scum like him to raise people to be hateful to elderly, disabled, or people truly in need.
  20. We 100% support ourselves. We have health insurance. It appears you don't or that you have a crappy plan to come out with a bill like that over a sprained ankle. I'm sorry. And I really wouldn't miss the fraction of a fraction of a cent that it would cost me for my share. Karma is a 3itch, so really hoping you do not have a disabled child one of these days. Only an evil person would want disabled children or hungry children or a child in need in general to do without.
  21. BTW, speech therapy is provided by the school system as well, so that part IS your responsibility because the government says so and collects that tax from you. Just as it is also my responsibility, and it's also my responsibility to pay taxes so people can get food stamps. Sucks that I don't get to choose and check yes or no, but that is life. Like I said...I think if you had a child with a disability and you realized you didn't have thousands upon thousands of dollars to spend on hearing aids, cochlear implants, speech therapy, etc...maybe you would be on the other side of the fence and be h
  22. So, you'd rather a child never speak or understand speech so they can be an even larger economic burden by growing into an adult who can't get a job and therefore has to live on welfare? Versus getting their hearing aids, speech therapy, and growing into an adult who reads, understands, speaks as we all do, and gets a job and gives back by paying taxes throughout their lifetime versus collecting a disability check because they cannot work? I have always been against entitlement programs, but I don't consider helping people who were born disabled an entitlement, and I never have. Everyone has a
  23. That's extremely harsh. People can prevent themselves from being poor, and if something happens and they become poor, there are ways to get by and measures to take. When you have a child, you never anticipate them having something like Down syndrome or hearing loss or blindness. 99% of Americans can't afford the costs associated with those types of health issues and disabilities, and without the funds and help, those individuals would be left in the cold and have little to no future at all. That is entirely different than an entitlement such as a government cell phone. I hope and pray you neve
  24. My infant is supposedly hearing impaired, so I greatly understand how you are feeling. Have you tried Atlanta Speech School? I have no idea about the ages they accept, but I think they take up to 18. They offer scholarships. They don't award 100% scholarships, but when I spoke to someone at the school a couple of months ago, I was told that it is income-based and some families only pay $1 per visit. I would seriously give them a call and see if your son is able to attend at his age, because that could be a really great thing for him.
