  1. Thank you! Thank you, Elwood....I really appreciate that.
  2. I think there are pros and cons to government health care and ours as well. And this is not meant to spark a debate, but... If you saw my thread last week...my 10-month-old was diagnosed with permanent sensorineural hearing loss (of the nerve and irreversible) at 3 months and again at 4 1/2 months (we got a 2nd opinion). He has had MANY, MANY tests, and Friday, my dream and what I have been fighting for all these months has come true. He had a thorough test under anesthesia, and TWO ENTs and TWO audiologists WERE wrong. He underwent myringotomy (tube placement) Friday and then had the
  3. Yeah, I mean...the ABR was good enough to where they are just going to go with his behavioral results next time, which have been NORMAL the past 2 times, so...pretty positive they will say he can take the left out too...but I'm not going to put it on him anyway since it was mostly normal, because I know they are just dotting their i's and crossing their t's.
  4. Grayson acts just like a normal baby and always has. There have been no indications that he has hearing loss other than the fact that he failed his newborn hearing screening and then went on to have the ABR, which showed that the nerve had a permanent hearing loss. UPDATE... The ENT said that there was indeed fluid behind the left (worst) ear drum, so he suctioned that out before putting the tubes in. The right ear was clear at the time. The ABR was then performed. About an hour later, the audiologists came out and said that his right ear tested at 20dB all the way across. The results
  5. Pre-ABR appointment went well today. They did a tympanogram and it indicated fluid in his ears...today AND at the last appt (though I wasn't told that at that appt). And I looked back and compared the tympanogram to old ones from old appts with his former audiologist, and it looks like he may have had fluid before too. The ENT said today that based on test history and recent passing tests that fluid is his only explanation now, so Grayson is getting tubes tomorrow before the ABR. He said it may affect the results slightly if his ear drum bleeds, but he said if it is fluid then he should g
  6. I was going to say that if they had done that to us, they would be getting the mixed gas...until I read the last few lines of your post. That is too funny...if it damages their car, they are definitely deserving of it.
  7. Yes...thanks. That's what I have thought all along...but the other audiologists we used kept insisting that was not it. This 3rd audiologist we have says it is possible.
  8. Thanks, y'all. Grayson's hearing loss supposedly has nothing to do with fluid...at least, that is what they have said from the beginning. They say it is either his inner hair cells were damaged somehow or that his nerve just doesn't receive the sounds properly. Either which way, they have told me since July that it is permanent. But now suddenly it seems to be reversing......there is no other explanation as to why he is passing these other tests other than his hearing has improved, since he is testing normally now with other tests. ABR is a lot more technical, though, so I am scared about
  9. My 10-month-old, Grayson, was diagnosed with permanent sensorineural hearing loss at 3 months of age. We have had many tests resulting from him failing the newborn hearing screening. Two tested his auditory nerve and is generally very accurate and trusted. The tests of his nerve both indicated that the nerve could not hear mild or moderate sounds at certain pitches. I have fought this diagnosis from the beginning as he has always seemed normal to me. He has been wearing hearing aids since 5 months of age. Suddenly, about 2-1/2 weeks ago, when we switched audiologists due to issues of
  10. I'd say that if she is 12 or older that the boys did no more wrong than she, PROVIDED that they did not force her into it in any way. And, this sort of activity can be found on many school campuses and buses. Locker rooms. Bathrooms. You name it. If it really was consensual, this is a pretty harsh charge simply because they have penises.
  11. Half of my former peers should be charged with aggravated child molestation, then. I think it is so ridiculous that because they are boys they are being charged and it appears she is not. Did she not also do some "molesting"?

    Wipeout

I agree...it's the same thing over and over. If they changed the course up more, I'd watch. But I do like the show...just not enough to watch it unless nothing else is on.
  13. It's okay. I just wanted to make sure that you understood that I do strongly feel we need an alternative fuel but that I don't think we will be paying $7 any time soon, and if we do, it would probably be a very brief period of time.
  14. What in my post makes you assume that I am? I think we need alternatives, sure. My post was regarding whether or not gas prices would rise to $7/gallon, not whether I think we need to keep fighting for it.
  15. I agree. And, I think that if we do see prices that high that they will be very temporary and, as you said, in response to some sort of catastrophe or tax situation. Oil is at $85/barrel right now, which is down from the past couple of weeks. Why look at the day-to-day jump when the barrel price is more significant? These daily fluctuations of 10 cents here, 15 cents there, really do not mean much. Check www.oil-price.net once a week for the barrel price and any relevant articles. Also, many people didn't think gas would ever get below $3 again back when prices were $4/gallon. Well, they
  16. I don't mind Pitocin at all. I've had it with all three deliveries, and 2 were inductions. I went in for an induction with the baby, but I was already contracting on my own, so they held off. With my 3rd, I could have kept going without an epidural, but I got epidurals with all 3. After the first epidural, I just concluded I'd rather be comfortable and enjoying the moment of the birth rather than being in pain. But everyone is different.
  17. Hey, girl... I told G no several times, but I ended up giving him the money for it anyways. I really won't miss the $10, and I just wanted him to have it since it was something he was really wanting. I always feel obligated to participate in everything. Tomorrow I'm sending in $25 donation for the heart fundraiser so he can get the jump rope and water bottle. Are P and C participating in that?
  18. I would, but I don't think it would do much good unless it's on the bus still, and my son's friend saw another kid pick it up...he just didn't know which kid because he only saw the kid's hand. Right after it happened, my son went looking for it and asking people and told the bus driver. The bus driver asked, apparently, but no one gave it back.
  19. I called the company to ask about purchasing one, and they were very nice and are sending another one, so it will be here in a week. They're also sending him something extra, so he will be alright once it gets here, but it's a shame that within 5 seconds of it rolling off it was taken. Makes me think this kid does this type of thing regularly...
  20. He bought it at school. It was in his bag, but it somehow rolled out of it. He's a kindergartner, so I think maybe he didn't zip it fully. I'm not sure, I wasn't there.
  21. He rides #29 when he rides. He only rides because he wants to. I have always driven him to and from school, but I got really sick one week and he rode once and loved it...now he rides occasionally. I let him make the choice each day whether he wants to ride or not. l I am tempted to go on the bus tomorrow and offer a reward for the yo-yo, just for the principle of it! Kids need to learn their lessons. If my son had taken something of someone's, I'd make him give it back AND take out of his allowance to also pay them for it. Double punishment.
  22. They stole it from my kid. My son has been asking for days for $10 for a Ned yo-yo. Gave him $10 this morning. Gets off the bus and is upset, said someone stole it. It rolled out of his bag on the bus and rolled somewhere. His friend looked under the seat and saw a hand grab it. They told the bus driver, but nothing was done. To me, it's $10, no big deal, but some parents obviously don't teach their kids that stealing is wrong. My son would never take from another child. To my little boy, his excitement about his new special yo-yo was ripped out of his little 6-year-old heart. Today was the la
  23. I don't care much for Valentine's Day. But, I may order that heart-shaped Papa John's pizza just to be cheesy...
  24. I appreciate the replies! I booked a session about an hour after I put this up, so unless something happens, I have a photographer for tomorrow. I get pix done every 2-3 months, so I will definitely consider the suggestions in the future. Thank you!
