  1. No, the link IS good, I just couldnt get the cat to turn the other way! First I tried staring hard at it, then thought maybe I was trying to hard, so I looked a little lighter at it. I tried EVERYTHING and couldnt get it!!!
  2. I cant get it on the link either! Thanks anyway, though. Those were entertaining! I saw the yellow first, but now I see both.
  3. There is another thread about it...I guess the town of Dallas is doing it on Saturday night. Some people probably wont be passing it out, because many want to do it ON Halloween.
  4. Thank you to all the children, parents, and coaches!! What a great way to show the children (and adults) how to respect, and care. To set aside your own traditions, for this great showing of respect, is so awesome! Once again, this story has made me proud to be a Paulding County resident!
  5. Can you please PM me your chiropractor? I havnt done anything medical for mine in 1 1/2 years, since I have no insurance. I have often wondered if a chiro would help. I've been a little nervous because of how fragile my back feels, and twisting wrong will really mess me up. I think a chiro is a little more affordable out of pocket than the $900 shots! I'm glad you said this, I hadnt heard anyone say they use chiro exclusively for it. Thanks!
  6. 6 years dating...and still going strong........
  7. Prior to my major flare up when I couldnt move, I had problems with it for about 5 years. I had just started seeing a pain management doctor. A real doctor, not a pain med pusher. I had 2 epidrual shots, which shoots the medicine into the sac around the hernitated discs. It is meant to reduce the inflammation. When I hurt it so bad that I couldnt move, on the fourth day I was able to make it to the car to get to the doctor. He gave me one of these shots, and I went from barely being able to get off the bed, to having a shower and moving around a little. The next day was much better. Do
  8. It could be getting worse because of the inflammation. I have herniated discs in my lower back, and it is just like you are explaining it. The initial pain could have caused you to tense your muscles as well, causing more pain. The inflammation will squeeze the nerves, which is what causes the leg pain. Staying mobile is good, but dont overdue it. You have to get the muscles relaxed, and get the inflammatin down. My suggestions are the sames as "A Gipper Girl" said. DO NOT lift or twist. I bent over to slide the laundry basket across the floor and twisted wrong, felt extreme pain radiat
  9. I do see your point, and agree with it. I guess I'm just not sure that giving them free reign of the property taxes to support their spending is the right answer. That is the part that I'm stuck on. And, if they spend this bad, will they really care where the money came from? You imply that if we approve the funds, they will have an easier time spending it because it wasnt their idea. I can see the other side too. If we vote the SPLOST down the attitude can change to "Well, lets just sock it to them on the property taxes, and spend away because thats what they wanted".
  10. Thanks Ceejay. The way I understand it, they dont intend on making enough of the SPLOST to ever get to a point where they have "extra" money, for building more schools. It would pay off the bonds first, right? So, basically it would be doing the same thing. So, the SPLOST money cant go towards salaries and supplies, but salary and supply money CAN go to maintenance and buildings should they decide to do it, right? That would make me nervous. It almost seems like it would be better to have seperate funds for the bonds and maintenence, that way the chances are lesser they would dig in your p
  11. You missed my whole point on trailers. One poster was saying that there are MANY empty spots in all the schools, so I was saying if there is so much free space, all the trailers should be gone. Someone also posted the trailers were used for "extra" classes and not for grades. I stated my son spent his entire year in one, so that was false. That was my point on that. I didnt mind him being in a trailer, it didnt hinder his education and his teacher was great. The electricity in the trailers may be marginal in comparison, but it is ADDITIONAL unnecessary costs, if there is so much empty
  12. So, if SPLOST gets voted down and for some reason property taxes dont increase...do you think there will be enough funds to operate or will we experience more devastation within our school systems? More layoffs, more furlough days, more children per classroom, etc. Or, say property tax does increase. Are there schools that are in desperate need of repairs or are they all acceptable? I havnt been in many of them, so I dont know. If there are repairs that need to be done, it will come out of the property tax money that should go to other things. I think you said earlier that if the SPL
  13. Thats what I was wondering. As far as the malls, yes, they would make money for SPLOST, but they would COST far more than we have right now. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, malls are purchased and built by private owners, not by counties and town's with tax dollars. So, do I want my tax dollars going to a private company to open a mall and then to pay for all of the new roads and traffic lights? NO. I would like to have good schools and businesses in Paulding County. The worst place I have ever driven in Georgia is Douglasville, and definately dont want that mess around here. Hiram is bad
  14. I agree with UTfaninGA. Malls are going in the wrong direction. Paulding needs businesses. Industries that will provide good paying employment for residents. The airport was built to attract industry, versus a mall be built to cause traffic nightmares and attract thugs. NO thanks. And I'm from a poor white family, and your slave comment has no relevance to this subject.
  15. The last post I saw, said that she had stopped taking a lot of the meds, and was feeling much better.
  16. I take that back. The tax form I looked at today at work said Douglas didnt have the Education SPLOST, but it is on the current one effective Oct 1. I agree, it would be nice if there was more info on where the funds would be going. BUT, the part in question, the 3rd article basically saying they can frivously spend the last $39 million probably doesnt matter because they arent county on making that much off of it. Maybe thats why they didnt plan for it. In my opinion, there should be a plan for all of it, right down to the particulars. That is one point I dont like.
  17. We never did that, but I grew up in such a small town that it wasnt as large of a production as it is here.
  18. Well, thats good. I just know with a new baby it must be nerve racking. I had my wisdom teeth removed right after my son was born, and I was scared to death I would be too "out of it" to care for him. It ended up being fine, I didnt even take pain meds. But, I had never had any major things done, so to me, this minor deal was major. Now that I think about it, removing anything regarding wisdom after childbirth is NOT a good idea!
  19. Its not going away. Its in the "Did I do that" thread!
  20. Mine would probably be excited! I would have NEVER considered celebrating it any day except the 31st...BUT, I may take them to Paulding Meadows, then trick or treating in Dallas Saturday. Its against my better judgement, but I accidently got Talladega tickets for the 31st, and I am feeling SOOOOOOOO guilty about it. I may end up paying the neighbors to take them around for a few minutes. They get tired after about 1 street in our neighborhood anyway. I hope you have a lot of candy, because you may be the only one passing it out on Sat. So, whats your address??

  22. I'm glad you found out something, but you do really need to verify soon. I'm similar to you in not seeing a doctor. I always wait so long to go, if ever. I hurt my back a year ago, and couldnt move to get out of bed for about 18 hours. I wouldnt call an ambulance....then he finally did (against my will) when I hadnt moved for 18 hours, and was crying because I had to pee. Also, I actually got the IUD, so I only have to go every five years. But, I do fear that it will bite me in the butt sooner or later. I have 2 excellent reasons to stay healthy, and you have 5! Keep us posted! I wond
  23. After I did it I asked the guy "So my total bill is going to be the 9.99 for cable (6 months) and 24.95 for the internet, plus taxes, fees, and modem rentals, right" and he said "Yes that is correct". I'm loggin in now to check it out. If that is the case, I may be stuck with outsourced customer service!
