  1. I would NEVER want to move back to where I grew up ('burbs of Chicago). There's a reason I moved when I was 19 and NEVER looked back. Thanks to my husband's military service, we have lived all over the U.S., including Metro Atlanta. Now that he's retired both military and civilian, we can move wherever we want. I cannot see us living here forever.
  2. I always chuckle at the stupid running shorts that they all wear to the grocery store.
  3. Yep. But I do like my neighbors, neighborhood, and I LOVE my home. So the snooty ones don't bug me too much. In fact, I get a good chuckle out of some of them.
  4. I moved to Cobb two years ago after living in Paulding for 7 years, but still own a home in Paulding. Quite frankly, I could take Paulding/Cobb or leave it. DH and I will be moving in the next year or so and it will be out of the country. I don't know why I never grew attached to my surroundings. There's nothing wrong with Paulding/Cobb, the area just never clicked with me.
  5. Yep, it's legal. They ride all the time down County Line Rd and it drives me nuts. But it's really the idiots passing them that cause the problems. I wait behind them until I can SAFELY pass.
  6. In my old subdivision, we had no HOA but we did have convenants that covered some more basic items. One of them involved cars parked on the grass. Is it possible your neighborhood has a covenant? I believe they are kept on file at the courthouse.
  7. I saw Bourne Legacy yesterday. It's not my type of movie at all but it certainly kept my attention throughout.
  8. That's been going on for years. I don't know their deal but I remember seeing kids walking house to house with a roll of paper towels and dish detergent years ago when I lived in Dallas. I will not answer my door for anyone I don't know.
  9. My Grandmother's home was used as a hospital at the Battle of Campbell Station in Farragut TN. It is still standing and still has blood stains on the floor and names scrawled on the walls. http://www.farragutpress.com/articles/2012/01/14981.html This is a pic of my family on the front cover of a book about Concord-Farragut http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/concord-farragut-tennessee-doris-woods-owens/1100107264
  10. I don't think it's anyone's business. Unless are in that relationship, you truly cannot know what or why things happen the way they do.
  11. Was it this one? http://www.thevillagenews.com/story/63189/ But this one didn't involve a child. I do remember two similar stories coming out around the same time but can't find anything about the one with a missing child.
  12. Exactly. I will NEVER click on a blind link.
  13. A few weeks ago, a friend was showing me her new boob job, when the homeowners 11 year old boy walked in. His face was hilarious. Guess that's better than a JC Penney catalog hidden under the mattress.
  14. Poor Randy...NOT! That's what happens when you cheat on your wife of 18 years with the dentists wife. It's all downhill from there, regardless of how many Gospel songs you sing. I still love his voice but yuck, he gives me the creeps now.
  15. Dr Wiliam Green with Cobb Gyn/OB at the Wellstar facility on 278 and 120 in Hiram. He did surgery on me two days ago and I wouldn't have trusted anyone else. Even my husband likes him LOL
  16. My bank keeps everything on record, easily accessible to me at any time for the past seven years. Most banks don't send out the cashed checks anymore without charging a fee.
  17. It depends on which courthouse.
  18. No sheeze. And it seems I'm always in a hurry when I get stuck behind them in line.
  19. I thought the law was if they incur 4 or more points? I meant to say 24 in my reply above. So she's had no other tickets, or are you only getting half of the story? Which court was it in? Edited to add: I thought she got her license suspended, never mind. I guess I should work on my comprehension skills But I still agree they should be strict with younger drivers.
  20. Was she doing 21 or over the speed limit? I'm thinking that's the case. I'm glad they do it. I have seen way too many idiot kids acting like they are invincible.
  21. I don't know if they offer recycling because I refuse to pay money to recycle (sort trash).
  22. Thanks, I've already read it and did not see anything about military ID. Which is why I was wondering if anyone knew for sure one way or another. You'd think they'd take a Department of Defense issued ID, but it IS the DDS, so it doesn't have to make sense.
