"Gary, if for some reason your cover is blown, and the terrorists take you prisoner, well, you'll probably want to take your own life. Here, you'd better have this. "

I must watch too much tv because as I read this, the advertising jingle for each brand keeps running through my head.

Wow. That was a beautiful tribute to your sister, it had me in tears. I'm so sorry for your deep loss but I thank you for sharing that with me (and the rest of us).

Question for those who've experienced this....did you really stop using a regular razor and go to an electric shaver?

No, he's going at least once a week, or as needed to a Wellstar facility for blood draw. They can get the results within a few hours to check if he's in range. We have to be careful because we drink a "green juice" every morning full of Vitamin K. I guess the K can throw off the INR. I think we are going to discontinue that for now so as not to complicate his blood counts. Thankfully we have good insurance so a week supply of the shots cost me $5.

We bought some compression socks last night at the pharmacy and then ordered some more from Ameswalker.com. They aren't pretty but they're sexier than a blood clot He is doing the shots until at least Friday and also taking the Coumadin. I swear, I want to wrap him in Nerf so he doesn't hurt himself while on the blood thinners. This is scarier to me than the four years he spent in Afghanistan.

YUCK! This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I cannot tolerate the smell of food after I have eaten. After a smelly dinner, I will run around and open all the windows, turn on exhaust fans and hood vent. Unfortunately, my husband is from Maine and LOVES to cook mass amounts of lobster and clams. Vomit. I remember when we were house hunting and all the obnoxious smells in people's homes. If I smelled food, we were out of there.

For four days, my DH has been having a charley horse pain in his calf. Finally, yesterday we decided it's time to go to the doctor. Our family doc gave him an aspirin and sent him immediately to a vascular surgeon. In less than one hour, we found out he had a massive blood clot in a deep vein in his leg. Holy sheeze, I could have lost my husband at any point in those four days. The blood clot can break off and go directly to his lungs and cause a pulmonary embolism. It's so weird because he's healthy, not overweight, and under 50 years old. This came out of nowhere! We took a fou

I'm not sure how it would save anyone. It only takes a minute to get cash out of an ATM. What are the cops going to do when they show up and you are long gone?

Perhaps they meant that multiple credit checks could effect your credit rating. Some insurance companies run a credit check when you request a quote. As far as USAA being difficult in paying out....GOOD! Their business savvy keeps my rates down. If they paid out for everything without question first, they'd be out of business and I'd be out one excellent insurance company.

Are they from Spain? Those always seem to be the best!

group essay on unpopularity and that guy (changed)

Fight the urge to read and/or reply and move on. That's my game plan and it seems to work for me. But in all honesty, the world needs diversity in thought and behavior. If we all thought the same it'd be boring as hell and psychiatrists would be out of a job. So I say, let people ramble. Who knows, maybe someday, I'll be *that* person rambling aimlessly. Or maybe I am already. Live and let live. Plus, you never know the pain and sadness that someone walks around with. You never know what has made them who they are today. I like to simply smile and move on -
I rub a little under my nose before bed and it always works for me. When I was a kid, my brother told me to put Vick's under my eyes to help me sleep. I advise against this because it burns like a sonofastitch. I'm quite positive my brother knew this and took great pleasure in laughing at me.

Are yoga pants appropriate in public? There have been times that I went home to change after working out and then back out to the store. I fear committing a faux pas of wearing yoga pants in public. Perhaps I worry too much about the little things

Next time I might buy an onion and ask them to chop it for me. Hot dogs without onions is unconscionable. My husband and I saw a guy pick up his hot dog off the ground at Sam's after it rolled past his wife's feet. His wife told him to eat it....and he did. I know who wears the "pants" in that family. -

I always get excited when I can snag some sauerkraut from under the counter And sometimes you get lucky and find a small container of chopped onions too! -
Hands down...THE WORST SONG! Everytime I hear it, I want to beat the kid with his own drum, arumpa pum pum.

I'm sorry about your SIL. I agree with the others. Give them the info and let them do with it what they want.

I wait until a month or so out generally. Our trip to Hawaii (K'auia island) I had to book 4 months out because of availabilities. But I flew to Dubai with only a few weeks notice and had no problem. I like traveling without a year's worth of anticipation built up. Plus, there's something fun about making snap decisions sometimes. My husband FINALLY promised me that we'll travel India. I'm planning on taking the Maharaja Express train so I have to book it welllllllllllll in advance because there is not a lot of room on the train. I'm going to have to try to book it 10-12 months

If you can spare some good thoughts.......

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there! -
The Emiratis in Dubai will probably have the antenna raised on the Burj Khalifa so it will remain the world's tallest. The Khalifa is insane, I can't imagine something taller. And I'd never step foot in a building that tall that was slapped together in 90 days, especially in China. <---Burj Khalifa

Ick, just looking at the pic of this car brings back bad memories of a TERRIBLE car.... When I got the car, it was 10 plus years old and I had to drive with both feet to keep it from dying. The floor boards were rotted out and finally the engine block cracked. I HATED that friggin car. If you are a Seinfeld fan, it was the same one as the "Jon Voigt" episode.
