  1. It is included in most renter's policies if you have liability coverage. Check and make sure, if the folks don't appear to be amicable to you just paying the deductible and copay for the doctor's bills. I think most folks are reasonable if they know that it was an accident and the dog is not mean. But you just never know.
  2. Your liability covers dog bites whether or not on your property. Read your policy.
  3. My understanding is that the animal will not be quarantined if you can show paperwork that all of his shots are current, and if he has not bitten before. Some folks call this the "one free bite" rule. That's how it was a few years ago i know. You also need to call your homeowner's insurance company if you think there is even a hint that you will not be able to handle this amicably with the other family. I'm sorry for all that this happened.
  4. Of course you recently saw that episode in reruns on TBS. There is certainly no way we are old enough to have actually seen the original B & W broadcast.
  5. Actually me finally washing my truck is what ENDED the drought. As always, it rained the next day.
  6. I stand corrected. Confused, but corrected.
  7. um.... I mean INSTEAD of her flying. Or is she not going back home? "She lives in Birmingham and her flight leaves out of Atlanta" lead me to believe that she was flying to Birmingham from Atlanta. Why else would you mention Birmingham. I Guess I'm confused.
  8. I wish you all the best, and am truly sorry. I hope you can find some small comfort in whatever you all decide.
  9. The RIAA has done more damage to the bottom line of the member artists and labels than all of the music pirates in the world combined. They stood firmly in the way of any system to distribute music electronically until the horrible Digital Rights Management standard was invented. A standard that treated customers like criminals and restricted music rights far beyond what had previously been considered for any other media. They set the music industry back 5 years minimum. The Artists and labels that bucked the trend and continued to issue music in the mp3 format are to be commended.
  10. She was kidnapped at age 11 and held in a box in the backyard by her rapist child molester captor, along with her two children that he fathered with her through rape. I believe that might skew a child's perception of reality just a little bit. You might want to cut her a little slack.
  11. Couldn't you drive her to Birmingham? It would take near about the same time from Paulding Co. It would actually save her time with transportation to and from the airport and the flight time itself. Birmingham is only 2 hours away.
  12. Happened to some friends of ours who chose to continue the pregnancy. She had a spontaneous miscarriage at 29 weeks. They were devastated and had a funeral and burial where they will be interred. I think that the funeral was somehow helpful to them, and they still bring her flowers on her "birthday".
  13. Bungee Jumping, by Jeanne Roberts, a great southern story teller in the tradition of Lewis Grizzard and LeRoy Powell.
  14. An Update: Turns out that my neighbor has just changed her phone service over to Comcast and away from ATT. She called them this morning (Thursday) and raised Cain. She gave them both addresses and told them that there was an existing work order to repair the service and relocate it to a new pole. The script reader on the other end of the line was flabbergasted and let her speak to a supervisor who saids he would send someone right out. He did send someone right out, a guy with no line, no bucket truck, and no clue. So this poor guy, who was very nice by the way, gets on his PDA
  15. Do my best to not kick the bucket. Oh yeah, and win Mega Millions Friday night.
  16. What a sad situation. I am glad that someone was there to help for today and I sincerely hope that that family finds a more permanent solution to their problems. It is sometimes easy to forget how blessed we truly are.
  17. What is with all the 10-44's over the past few days. So many desperate people.
  18. These were absolutely the nicest guys. I can't say enough good things about them or enough bad things about the attitude of the other 2 "utilities". Bombblast and ma ding-a-ling put me in mind of the old Lilly Tomlin character Ernestine: "We don't care. We don't have to. We're the Phone Company"
  19. You absolutely positively have to eat a cheeseburger at the restaurant at Highland Marina. The grill should be insured for more than the rest of the place put together.
  20. So at 3:45 this morning a tree comes crashing down on a power line -phone lines - TV cable lines and breaks the pole sending it all into a flaming heap on the ground in the middle of my 500 ft. driveway through the woods. Quick cell call to GREYSTONE WHO WAS GREAT. My neighbor and I share this line, and she is on Oxygen. Greystone is out here by 6:00 Am and cuts the tree off the lines and moves the whole mess out of the way so Mrs. LTD can shimmy off to the office, they check on my neighbor to make sure she doesn't need any emergency services, and by 8:00Am a line crew is out here and they
  21. Now drug users are making their own meth in small batches using a faster, cheaper and much simpler method with ingredients that can be carried in a knapsack and mixed on the run. The "shake-and-bake" approach has become popular because it requires a relatively small number of pills of the decongestant pseudoephedrine — an amount easily obtained under even the toughest anti-meth laws that have been adopted across the nation to restrict large purchases of some cold medication. The new formula does away with the clutter of typical meth labs, and it can turn the back seat of a car or a bathro
  22. One of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth.
  23. Send Catherine Zeta Jones to ask 'em. It worked for T-Mobile.
