Here's a novel idea. Why don't you go ask them why they are living behind someone's house in a tent. If they tell you that it's because they are child molesters, then inform the police. You will most likely find that they were made homeless because of the floods and are temporarily setting up camp behind the house of a relative or friend. If they tell you something like that, then the proper response is to offer help, not to quote zoning regulations.

I'd much rather see this printed on the inside of the sun visor than that stupid airbag warning.

Hope you're right. They still need to catch the driver.

I hope they catch this idiot. How could someone hit another human being and just leave them there. Jail is too good for these monsters.

Coke, and I'm blaming you.

I think that if you reread it in the context of the entire statement you will find that I am totally for helping people who are truly in need with temporary assistance. I would include temporary help with rent, food, and clothing, extended unemployment if their place of business was destroyed, anything of that sort that will help them transition into their new reality. The unfortunate truth is that sometimes, bad stuff happens to good people. Even those that thought that they were prepared. Not their fault, but then again, it is not my or the government's responsibility to make them whol

OK, somebody owes me a new keyboard.

Very sorry to hear this, I hope for the best.

First, you misread my statement. I am for a hand up. Second, you don't know a dam thing about me or what I have done in the last years, months, weeks or days in terms of helping my fellow man, so don't pretend to. Your statement was completely uncalled for and out of line, besides being totally incorrect.

Like HHS says, it's entirely up to the judge, and once you open the can of worms, he can go fishing as well. Personally I would be cautious. $800 a month seems reasonable for a 16 year old unless you can show the court convincingly that her healthcare expenses are significantly above the norm, and 21 years old is a plus. Maybe he will soften up about school once they are over their spat, and once the time gets closer. Unless you're sure you can prove that you need more money for his part of your daughter's current support, then I would just let it be at least until college time gets v

Simple. I have no problem with true short term emergency aid to individuals coming from the Federal or State Government. I have no problem with the Federal government helping a state with large unexpected disaster expenses that may be a huge burden on the taxpayers of that state. Any state. Red or Blue. I have a big problem with people treating short term aid as a lifetime entitlement program, or people abusing a system set up to help the truly needy just because they can scam the system. I also have a problem with people expecting the government to give them a new house or car just

She hasn't been the straightest arrow in the quiver, but what a horrible thing to say about your father just to make money. Even if it is true, using it in this way seems trashy.

First, I apologize to MillCreek Web Design. Second, here is the latest available information: The Governor's Declaration Governor's Letter to President Obama President's Response as of Noon September 24, 2009 "NEW YORK (AP) -- President Barack Obama personally assured Georgia officials that requests for federal aid to deal with deadly torrential rains there will 'receive prompt attention,' the White House said Wednesday." Again, my apologies for expressing an opinion on the Presidential response that sent the original thread off to die in the political forum.

There is such a thing as a FVIR, flammable vapor ignition resistant heater. They are not very common though, and this will be marked on the heater label. If the heater gets it's combustion air from the area of the garage where cars are parked, and not a separate room on the same level, then it must be FVIR or raised 18" above the floor. Otherwise, it is not to current code.

I thought that Austin canceled the Halloween festivities this year due to budget concerns. Where's Surepip on this. This waste must be stopped before we need another mil or two in bonds issued. I also hear that Barry turned down Paulding's request for stimulus funds to help complete the project.

That's Sweetwater creek, which is backing up into our yard and over our drive. We live about 1 mile upstream from here. Never seen it like this.
