  1. Well, I am a transplanted yankee. We make a bread stuffing, stuff the turkey the night before and bake it all night long. But, I also love cornbread stuffing and sometime put that in the turkey also. The best of both worlds.
  2. My brother was in a head on crash 15 months ago; the air bags saved his life. The other driver died because his bags did not deploy; my brother is permanently disabled; but alive. Prayers for all of those involved.
  3. ahh yes. kids are all grown; but yes, the beads in the nose; I mean - wth are they thinking??? Here is a hole; I'll just stick this thing in the hole??? They all do it; God rest their souls!
  4. I learned my lesson - I do not proceed without reading reviews (many reviews) on kudzu.com or getting references from someone I trust. Fortunately I only paid for part of the job promised which covered the materials used; because the "service" part did not get finished. And I am NOT picky. I always want to support local businesses; but you really have to do your homework before you use someone.
  5. Each year I am amazed. They must be living under a rock. Throw the book at them; idiots!! People do the same with pets. No, I don't equate the two; but sheeze! Are people just stupid???
  6. I think she is the number one biatch! No, I don't feel sorry for her. I do feel sorry for the kids and I think Jon, who I used to like, seems to be thinking with the wrong part of his anatomy! He went from one "serious" relationship to another within 2 weeks. Give it a rest, Jon!!
  7. I'll bet those kids will always remember that moment! What a good guy! Bless him.
  8. Took my grandgirls to the pasture on Tidwell Rd in Hiram to see the long-horned bull and the goats (there must be about 40 of them); we all just oohed and awwed. How great! It was a wonderful moment.
  9. Daughter just recently got remarried; very small; less than 30 guests. She rented a small room at one of the nice hotels here in Hiram for the ceremony ($50) and then all went to my house for the reception. I decorated with ivy vines and clear lights and candles everywhere ; I did all the cooking. It was a great time!
  10. I'm blond and fat and I still think it is funny
  11. pppht! NO! I hear thunder and then - nothing!
  12. Doesn't it just suck? I get nothin' done during the week because I am exhausted when I get home. Then all weekend is cleaning and doing errands so I can start all over on Monday. I think I am part of those who "work to live". Whew! I'm tarred!!
  13. Oh thanks, I didn't want to miss it!
  14. Last year we went to a wonderful festival in Dallas with horse rides, lots of food and crafts and other attractions for the kids. When is it this year? It was so much fun for my grandgirls; I would love to go this year.
  15. My friend in Fulton Cty called police twice on step daughter. On the third call, they were required to go to a judge and sentenced to mandatory counseling. One more call, the judge warned and she was out of the home and into a controlled and structured facility. The judge did NOT mince words.
  16. Yea!!!!!!!!!!! It finally hit Hiram - thank you! I just love rain.
  17. couldn't open; oh well; two people I don't care for - Now don't get all postal on me. I'm not a political activist - just stating a small opinion - mostly in jest.
  18. Dark and windy in Hiram - but still no rain. I tried to coax two of my cats to come inside but sometimes they know better than I do. I hope they are wrong this time and it rains "dogs"; they get sensitive about the (shh! "cats") part.
  19. Wow! I just came through there about 6:45; guess I just missed it.
  20. How incredible a treat for you! I've seen several young ones lately. What amazes me is that they wander around alone. I saw one that was hit by a car but two others that were very small and appeared to be alone. Where's mama??
  21. Her lack of skills has undoubtedly enriched yours. You are who you are because of how you were raised; so in all of that; some good evolved. I think you have to do your best; as someone suggested- quality time. You have to still care for your own family but also do your best to keep her comfortable without accepting abuse. If she gets nasty, just lovingly excuse yourself, tell her you love her but you will come back later when she feels a little better. Hugs and love are never bad things. Best wishes
  22. Moved here 3 years ago from Kennesaw and love every minute of it. The Cobb "hustle, bustle" is gone; thank goodness. It just seems to be simpler here in Hiram. Each day I drive past goats, sheep, horses, and steers on the way to work. I always have to be on the lookout for deer in the road. I feel quite safe and 15 minutes from anything I could possibly want in the line of shopping or eating. You sometimes have trouble locating a "fine wine"; and ticks are bad this year; but gosh I wish I would have moved here years ago. Good luck!
