  1. namely, my granddaughters. I don't know how I ended up with a tabasco plant; what do I do with those little peppers that are growing? any ideas?
  2. That doesn't look all that hard. Some of my peppers are not large enough to stuff and freeze; this is "plan B". Thanks!
  3. I used to have a "stick" to rub on my hand to use as a hair glaze - yep! you guessed. One morning I picked up the deoderant instead.
  4. I use them all the time - to really make them great, as you are boiling the water and adding butter, add cream cheese. As mixing them up, after you remove them from the burner, add some sour cream. On some occasions, we also add some shredded cheese and occasionally top with crumbled bacon! YUM!
  5. Well, since we are talking material things - I guess my home. It has been about 3 or 4 years since I moved from Kennesaw to good ole Hiram and I am still, to this day, in love with my home. It is NOT anything luxurious; very simple and humble; didn't pay much for it; but I love it so much. No one would walk in and think this home should be in a magazine; far from it. Every day I drive to work and I pass the horses and goats and sheep and that beautiful long-horned steer on Tidwell Road, and I think - what a beautiful place to live!! It is just right for me. I am thankful every da
  6. Italian dressing; pour over and bake at 375. I have also used sesame ginger dressing!
  7. Ritz cracker, topped with a smear of cream cheese, topped with a shrimp (see below), then sprinkled with lemon pepper. I marinated the shrimp and lightly sauteed them; allow to cool or refrigerate before topping the cracker.
  8. So glad your experience was an inconvenience and nothing more. That was SOME storm. I "heard" one of the largest booms I have every heard; and it wasn't even that close but the entire house shook!
  9. Talk to the lender and ask if they will accept a "short sale"; meaning they only get what you can get in the best offer.
  10. Need a small replacement job; about 10 feet which includes a wide gate - wood, privacy fence. If you know someone honest who will work on small jobs, please let me know. Thanks,
  11. Here is what the internet says: Hummingbird Nectar Recipe 1 part sugar/4 parts water Boil the water first, then measure and add sugar, at the rate of 1/4 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water. Let cool and store excess in refrigerator until ready to use. Do not add food coloring, honey (which ferments), or artificial sweetener, which has no nutritional value. You will need to clean your feeder about once a week. According to the National Audubon Society, this should be done by rinsing with one part white vinegar to four parts water. If the feeder is dirty, try adding
  12. They poop in red and it ruins your car - just kidding!
  13. I agree with Teatime. I took a course a few years ago about handling stress. What I learned is that you need to let go of stuff that you can't control. The stuff it lets loose in your brain stays with you for something like 2 hours; so I just let the sorry bast___s go and try to smile. My goal is to take care of me. HOWEVER, I used to cuss them out and once when my teenage daughter AND her friends were in my car - I forgot I wasn't alone and let loose with a few bombs; both daughter and her friends were speechless. I was supposed to be the "nice" mom and I sort of blew my cover.
  14. so cute!! they all think they are lap dogs! I have 4 ankle biters and when I try to relax on the couch, I have to fight for space! Ahhh! the love of our fur babies!
  15. Hey, I am from Pennsylvania - Lancaster County (pronounced LANC aster; not LAN caster). Growing up, I wasn't all that impressed; but as I grow older I began to appreciate the beauty of the beautiful farms, the "buggies" on the road; the wonderful local meats and vegetables. You can buy the most delicious silver queen corn on the cob at the local farmer's market. It really is a beautiful state; but I have to tell you that I love Georgia and California is beautiful with the mountains, etc. I mean, is there an ugly state?
  16. My youngest dd is in the entertainment business (on Broadway); similar to modeling You do NOT pay the agencies; they pay you. No matter what excuse they give you. You might want to pay for some quality head shots; but don't pay the agency. There used to be a group called Buttons and Beaus or something similar. This is a big scam for many people. I promise you. You NEVER pay them. The only way my dd's agent gets paid is if she gets a job.
  17. I read the book and not sure I can handle the movie; different ending or not. I have also refused to go see "marley and Me" because I read that book also. Not sure my idea of entertainment is to sit and cry my eyes out. But the movie does look good and I like the cast. I really like this author.
  18. Need honest, responsible help for July 11 to help with some food prep and/or errands. Someone who I can trust to be in my home while I attend the wedding. Will pay $15/hour. Simple tasks from detailed list I will supply. PM me, will need food experience and personal references. Hours will be possibly 2:00 to 4:30 or 5:00. A few of you who know me can PM me with any recommendation you might have and they will get first preference. I will try to respond to each PM; unless I get a hundred
