If I am one of those folks who always foot the bill when I invite, I might not think to send money with them; or if I do; it is "extra", that part of the entertainment cost of the day. If I did send money, I would give it directly to the parent and ask them to be sure that money isn't just for my child but to share treats with others.

I am in New York City and yesterday, we gave away our beautiful youngest daughter to a wonderful young man in a lovely and meaningful marriage ceremony. Wow! Love NYC but ready to come back home to Hiram.

did you do any ground cultivating below the raised garden or did you just start at ground level? What soil did you use? Tons of garden soil? i started by just breaking ground with a mega tiller; but curious about the above ground gardens. I am guessing it costs a small fortune the first year (soil, etc.) What do you add each year after the first to enrich the soil? TIA

I like being me but wish I were a thinner me! I am newly retired. Life was never a cake walk and I have hoed some rough roads but i am so blessed. Can't afford to travel much but each morning I wake up and I can do anything I want to do. Thank God for bringing me this far. As a child I was so poor, I would never have imagined owning my own home that I love, with kids and grandkids who love me. I'll never set the world on fire but I know I have helped and had a positive influence on a number of people along the way; and quite a few animals have had a nice life because of me. Yep, I'm -
daughter is volunteer for Must ministries. Man with 48 waist has just one pair of pants. we need some used pants to help him have at least one change of pants to look for a job and launder the others. Thank you

Kindle Fire OR The Nook OR just continue buying the real book?

I just bought the kindle and I love it. Within 60 seconds, I can download a book and start reading. They have hundreds of free books and great prices on best sellers. I am an old gal; and not a tech wiz, but I love this!! I am so glad I made this decision. It is very small and fits in your purse without a problem. LOVE it. -

Anyone using the Meals On Wheels Program for Seniors?
MissSophie replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Great suggestion! I do this myself. I cook in bulk and freeze. Spaghetti sauce is good to make in advance. Chile; soups, lasagna; even hamburgers. -
Good for you!

Ahh! that's nice; but I'm not a young lady. Guess I'll stick with my previous list.

Well Son IL wanted to take me and daughter to dinner tomorrow and I declined. Too expensive. I asked them to come over to my house. I would put him in charge of the grill. No gifts. They need to save money and so do I. Simple is good. And call me a terrible mother; but sometimes when the kids were little, my husband would say I know you just want to spend the day doing something with the kids; and I would think; I spend almost every day doing something with the kids; a day alone being a couch potato might be nice I think that is a Wonderful! gift.

Ok, I like him! ALOT. But I also like Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, Robert Redford (don't care how old he is); Ryan Reynolds (is that his name?) And Sean Hayes (my hero; personal reason for this; friend of my daughter and he gave me a kiss) I dream about Brad Pitt and Angelina all the time! How strange.

What ticks me off is that the credit card companies will not tell you who it might be. Happened to me 3 times. I knew what happened the first time; a restaurant in S. Fulton. The other two times were on line and credit card company caught it. Very frustrating. The first time, I called the restaurant and they could have cared less. I hate thieves!!!
