I think they showed him first. I thought I saw him on the screen but they were also showing James Taylor so you kind of had to be looking at the memorial screen to see him. I know Farrah was in several TV movies but I'm not sure if she was ever on the big screen so maybe that is why she wasn't shown. She was amazing in The Burning Bed.

I always watch it. I usually try to watch all the nominated movies and also those with the actor/actress nominations but couldn't quite get to them all this year. I did see Up in the Air, Up, Inglorious Bastards, Avatar, The Blind Side and The Hurt Locker. We'll better go, it's starting!

Bummer! I meant to watch this but we were at a Teachers VS Parents Volleyball game tonight and I just totally forgot. Oh well, I'll set my DVR for next week.

Georgia~~ maybe Saint Simons Island. I've only been there once and it's were I got engaged. It may be too crowded now but I loved it way back when. Florida~~IF I could afford it Captiva Island or somewhere around that area. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and ocean. The view when driving from Fort Myers to Sanibel (which you take to get to Captiva) is breathtaking. I can never get enough of it. I pick Captiva over Sanibel simply because I think it's less crowded.

Atlanta Magician Turner - Update from conference in Europe

Wow! That sounds really cool. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your trip. -
That's good news. I have to admit though I am probably one of those parents who would be a sucker for a sob story. I'd hope I would let someone know. I do know I would have no problem taking in someone for a while who needed a break or whose parents needed a break from them. Doesn't sound like this was the case here at all. I was hoping this was a story about the one of the other missing teens that were being discussed a month or so ago. Does anyone know if there is any news about them?

I had to TiVo it but so far I have just seen Crystal and the second girl. Loved Crystal, not wild about girl #2. She's cute I'm just not that into her .

I still don't like it. Hubby has been living in Florida since late November 2008 (the check for January was unused vacation at his job in Georgia from before he moved). We were supposed to follow but the housing market didn't co-operate. Would it help if we filed separately? I only earned $453 substitute teaching last year. His W-2 for his Florida job has his Florida address on it. Does that help? I'm not trying to cheat the system but we pay property taxes for our home here and sales tax on everything we buy here. One of the attractions of Florida was the no income tax. If we h

Well that totally stinks! Thanks for the information though.

Thanks, Florida doesn't have a state tax so I'm not sure how that would work. I have a call into my Dad and am hoping he can help me but I know there are so many knowledgeable people on here so I thought I would try to find out here first.

So we are doing our taxes and my husband (except for one paycheck last Jan) works in Florida. Georgia is his home even though he only made it home 6 times last year. The kids and I still live here and hopefully he will be back before this year is out. My question is do we have to pay Georgia state tax on the money he earns in Florida? We are doing Turbo tax and are almost done and it still shows up owing Georgia State tax of nearly $1,400 (but getting a Federal return) even though the income he earned in Georgia is less than $500. I'm so confused. We listed Georgia as our state of res

Saturday mail delivery on chopping block
brown*eyed*girl replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I like Saturday delivery. I know it's sad but checking the mail is one of the highlights of my day. A little one but still exciting. Also to the person who mentioned the flat rate boxes..... they are making a bundle on those. I hate those new flat rate boxes. I save a lot of money using my own or the older boxes that arent' flat rate because a lot of times it is cheaper than what the flat rate is for the same size box. I don't know if they added in the cost of the box but I find more often times than not it will cost me more to use one of the flat rate boxes (except the smallest one). -
ok, tonight I have to say I liked Lee Dewyze the best followed by #4 and then Big Mike, Garcia and Urban. Those are my top 5. I guess I can try voting now. I usually try to vote for all my favorites but depending on where I rank them some get more votes than others. I really really like #10 tonight though. Love LOVE LOVE that voice.

I'm confused about how long UE originally was for and what extensions have already been made. I have friend whose husband has been unemployed since September and she said his UE benefits are running out in two weeks. That is only 6 months and that is considered extended? Just curious. I don't have experience with UE yet but hubby's paydays keep getting pushed back a little each time. Even though he works out of state I am hoping his employer can afford him until he can find something comparable closer to home. I feel for y'all. I don't know anyone who could live on $330 a week, espec

How tragic. I'll be praying for them.

I was just about to post this. Gotta love our School Board. They are on the ball!! Hopefully this gives those working parents enough time to get home or make arrangements.

Okay, I didn't read through all the reply's but when I got to the board bashing I wanted to add that I know many of the bus drivers have other responsibilities between their morning and afternoon routes. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. I know one of more than one bus driver who works another job between her shifts, several who serve lunch, one of which does it in another county so even if they closed school early here they couldn't just leave their other job. Another thought would be perhaps to give working parents time to either get home or find someone to take their kids i

I'm so excited. I think I am more excited than my kids if that is possible. I sure hope it sticks around long enough for them to play in it. What a bummer to have snow and not be able to enjoy it. I'm off to make some hot cocoa so I can sit and stare out the window at God's beautiful work!! -
Can't stand them. We don't have a loan but we got a CC with them last Fall/late Summer and the first month they charged us a late fee which brought us over the limit so we had an over limit fee. My hubby called and said we weren't late so they took off the late fee but wouldn't take off the overlimit fee even though the over limit fee was because of the late fee. Then they charged a late fee for the following month because "part of the month (before the late fee was removed) you were over the limit still" Seriously?! Are you kidding me? Then they wanted to up our interest which is 3.99 f

I don't have an answer for you but I too am interested. My husband joined a gym near where he works (out of state) and he only had to pay $1 to sign up and then $10 a month. I would love if someplace around here had that deal.

I would just wait it out. Two of mine are boys and for the most part I just waited until they wanted to do it on their own. I made sure I had everything (potty, stickers, m&m's, cheerios) but didn't push it. When I say for the most part I will admit there was a moment when I felt a little pressure because someone or maybe a couple people talked about that maybe one of my boys should have been trained already. I admit I put a little pressure on the guy and begged and pleaded. When I found myself saying Mommy needs a time out for a minute and went in another room and screamed I realized

I had that happen to me to. I wasn't paying attention though so I can't really pinpoint when it was I got demotedstar'd. I'll try to bump ya up.

Well, I don't see it over in PP. I went to check out the original source of the drama with no luck so I clicked on Twobuns profile and saw the cutest picture of her and her kids that she posted on another topic just a few minutes. I wanted to tell her how adorable her and her kids are but can't find it. Oh well. I should probably be going to bed anyways. I hope things calm down for her.

That is funny!

Have you ever heard of Fripp Island? It not to far from Beaufort, SC where they have filmed all kinds of movies. I think they used Fripp (and Hunting Island) to film G I Jane and the war scenes from Forrest Gump. You would be between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA if you wanted to take some day trips. Hilton Head is also close, even closer by boat. My BIL was married there and it was beautiful. Not crowded at all and not a touristy type of place. Beaufort is a nice small southern town with a lot of history. I was married there so maybe I am a little partial to that area of the south.
