  1. I think a 2 hr. nap at a preschool, on the floor is awful. 8-12 would be plenty of "school" time for 4 year olds. Academics end early, then lunch, playtime, then 2 hr. naps, the outside playtime. Now, I KNOW playtime is critical, but 4 hrs. could include it without keeping little ones at school from 8:30-3:00. That verges on institutionalizing them.
  2. maybe a locally owned restaurant would do it, during off hours, for the publicity. or perhaps a bakery. when is it? I know someone who is going to open a bakery soon and might be interested in this type of thing.
  3. DH uses cpap; tried nasal pads, but got nasal infections and had to go back to full mask. his mouth gapes open, too, so he now wears a band around his chin and head! quite a sight for g.kids !!
  4. The Goodwill on Hwy. 41, near McCollum airport is wonderful, too. They are constantly restocking. Tuesdays is 25% off for Sr. citizens! It does not smell in there. They have a section 'specially priced" for name brands and I've found many upscale sweaters & blouses like new or new with tags. I've also found many great kitchen, decorative items, dishes, trays, platters, seasonal dishes etc. The prices are NOT like nasty Hiram's, but much more reasonable and everything is clean.
  5. I love seeing your work! Thanks for sharing!
  6. Thanks everyone for the ideas; we're thinking on each of them and surely we can find one that will work! Thanks!!
  7. we need a place for a baby shower for about 30 folks (some children, I'm sure) at end of March. We think a house would be difficult with parking etc. does anyone know of any reasonably priced places? Would like a tea room, but P. Spgs. is not open on Sun. Can be a place that serves food or one where we bring our own.
  8. I didn't give any phone numbers...
  9. so sorry, I love my 13 yr. old Chichi and dread the day
  10. EVERYONE'S PHONE NUMBERS ARE NOW ON FACEBOOK!! Cell #'s too! Go to top right of your screen, click Account then Edit Friends. Go to left side of your screen, click Phone book. Everyone's phone numbers are now published. (Privacy Settings-Phone-Customize-Only ME) I just did this; my address was there too, as well as email address
  11. they eat through roots of flowers/plants to get the bugs in the soil, thus the plants DIE; the poison p.nuts work pretty well, but an outdoor cat seemed to do the best work
  12. Grand kids played soccer 2 seasons with One Goal; well run, for fun, prayers beforehand; a good experience
  13. I hope no one wants to make a shrine where I DIE. Forget that place, for goodness sakes and remember where I LIVED and how I lived.
  14. visitation is Thursday 6-8 at Bellamy's in Hiram. Funeral is Friday 2:00 same location.
  15. Devastating news. And his mom just lost her sister a few months ago.
  16. there's nothing wrong with letting him sleep in his swing, if it's where he is comfortable and will sleep. My daughter did this with hers, until she was too big for it. It was the only way they got any sleep. They started her off in her own bed, then the first time they got up, into the swing she went and it worked like a charm. They kept the swing in their bedroom. Don't feel guilty, the goal is a working situation for ALL of you. And, I'd speak to your dr regarding your hormones...there are meds for that time in life to help you through.
  17. the last 2 times we ate there, the food was very limited and very greasy, a few desserts were store-bought, nothing to brag about as before; we felt rushed the entire time and finally decided it had seen it's day and we'd never return. It used to be worth the drive for delicious food and atmosphere.
  18. I dated a guy for many years who bought & sold stuff (modern Sanford); his house had trails thru the stacks of stuff he intended to sell. He did sell some, but brought in way more than ever went out. I helped him clean up one time and he had a fit because I threw away the huge stack of newspapers on the hearth; said there might be important phone numbers or something written on them that he needed and he dug them out of the trash. He never went thru them, just packed the papers and moved them to new home. had food many years out of date he wouldn't throw out, either...paid for 2 large st
  19. I've always gotten mine refilled at walgreen's...used to be $10; now about $13. I got about 5 refills before it wouldn't "take" another refill on a cartridge. Unfortunately, I now have a Canon, which walgreen's doesn't refill and Walmart has the best price for it.
  20. when I was about to remarry, my guy asked me to give mine to one of my daughters; I had to refuse and say, "marry me, marry my chi"...so he did and now loves her. She will be 13 in April and is pretty zippy for her age.
  21. popcorn is my destresser snack
  22. We've also headed over there several times, but only see the same car parked right in front and it didn't look like anyone was there, so we haven't stopped again, either. We would give it a 2nd try, if it was during the week. We ate there the 2nd week and haven't been back.
  23. yes, it's gotten a little disgusting, considering his age and the young ones he oggles; of course most look like they'd like to crawl him, too
