  1. I had it a couple of weeks ago. It was the PITS.
  2. You can look them up on NADA (assuming you're buying from a dealer) yourself. When I was looking, I used nada.com kbb.com autotrader.com and then averaged the prices they gave me.
  3. :cray: God, I hate this for you. Truly, I do.
  4. Surepip - spot on, sir. I could not agree more. (But then, I am not a fan of ANY government subsidy, which is probably a topic for another conversation.)
  5. For those who may not know, Righthaven is the company that has been viciously suing anyone and everyone for copyright infringement, spec. relating to Las Vegas Review-Journal stories. Apparently Righthaven is about to meet up with some righteous justice. http://claytonecramer.blogspot.com/2011/06/righthaven-lacks-standing-to-sue.html
  6. The OK Cafe used to serve a great tofu burger. Haven't been there in awhile, but sounds like something I need to check out soon.
  7. How utterly precious! I'm so happy you updated us; I figured it was about time.
  8. I had forgotten that connection! Jen, you might want to encourage him to get check by a doctor...seriously - sleep apnea can be a forerunner/precursor/indicator of heart disease and/or other troubles, and if not treated, can lead to other bad things. Guilt him into it...tell him his son needs to have him around as he grows up.
  9. Oh, dear...I'm so sorry. So terribly sorry. I have been where she is (with a loved one who insisted on driving after - excessive - drinking, but who thankfully only killed himself). Goodness. I will indeed keep them in my prayers.
  10. I'll tell you what would have made me the sickest - the bulldozing of the trees. I would have gone berserko.
  11. FOCUS ON THE HORIZON, dilbert.
  12. Thanks for the update. We'll pray for a very slow news week.
  13. This highlights another reason it's bad that we don't have a widely-read news outlet here in Paulding. I love paulding.com (well-documented), but a) not nearly as many people know about it as should, and 2) it's not the official news organ of the county (which is the Dallas New Era, which if you've never read it, you probably have a few more brain cells than you would have had after reading it). :sigh:
  14. This is my opinion as well. I just can't state it enough - THE WAY THIS CASE HAS BEEN HANDLED IS A TRAVESTY. WHATEVER happens, it needs to be gone YESTERDAY. At this point, I don't know what we can do. If they continue to be stupid in their June 29 court appearance, could we all just troop down to the BOC and hold up signs day and night? Somehow, I can't see that being very effective against the Good Ol' Boy system. Surepip, have you contacted media outlets? I can't recall over the many conversations if you have and/or what they said if you did. Again, however a jury rules is u
  15. GAH!!! He is so adorable!!! And who can not love a Marine?!?!?
  16. OK, yeah, thanks for that, Mom. Just what a kid (of ANY age) needs to hear.
  17. hahaha Yes, that would do it...a major reason I can't watch movies like that. :shudder:
  18. If I'm not mistaken, Invisalign is like wearing a retainer, and I can assure you - THOSE THINGS ARE A PAIN!!! Not so much literally, but dang...take out, put back in, talk funny...I hated mine!!!
  19. Well, I've contacted my commish and let him know of my displeasure about this. He's one of the new ones (Barnett), so he's working with a mess that was left to him. I don't know what else to do. I guess I could write a letter to everybody on the board. And before everybody chimes in, yes, I know there are two sides to every story, and surepip's is only one side. BUT CITIZENS OF THE US HAVE A RIGHT TO REDRESS FOR GRIEVANCES AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT under our Constitution, and the judge has already ruled that this citizen has been unlawfully deprived of his right. If he's wrong, let it go
  20. Some employees do steal time from employers, but a) the topic was about employers stealing time from employees, and 2) not all of us are dishonest shiftless shonks who steal from our employers. Some of us give a day's work for a day's pay (and in my case, I generally give MORE than a day's work for a day's pay). Edited to add that employees are allowed one 15-minute break per every four hours. I have NEVER taken the breaks allowed me at any job, including this one, and I don't smoke, so I don't take smoke breaks. I take an hour for lunch because of the previously afore-mentioned nitpick
  21. You, of the strange, weird, and - yes - creepy avatars calling me creepy?
  22. You are correct, sir. Five minutes a day x 250 days a year = 1250 minutes. Divide by 60 = 20.83 hours. If said worker is making $10/hour, that's $208 over the course of a year. Which ok, isn't gonna make or break most people, but if you have 1000 people in a call center, the company is stealing $208,000 over the course of the year. And conversely, a company who would nitpick over five minutes (like the one I currently work for) isn't a good company to work for. OOPS - didn't read far enough. Sorry, zoo...didn't mean to step over your post.
