If I'm not mistaken, if it was a hybrid plant (meaning the style you saw when you bought it was grafted onto an original plant of what you now see), then something could have happened to cause it to revert to its original state.

I just have this mental picture of stacks and stacks of crap from the 60s. Kinda like I found in my parents' house that they'd lived in for 44 years when we cleaned it out a couple of years ago when they sold it. GAH!!! But Daddy was a Depression-era baby and didn't throw out ANYTHING...might need it sometime, doncha know.
