  1. This is nice to know, I personally don't care for really thick burgers, they never seem to be done to my liking. Yeah I got a free 'senior' drink at Taco Bell the other day at the drive thru. I would muster up some indignance but I figure anything to offset to the breaks I don't get on things like taxes (not married, no kids) I will take without complaint...and besides, there is more than one definition for 'senior'. Personally, I like this one: holding a high and authoritative position.
  2. What do you want, a gold star? This crap ^^ sounds so juvenile. And so freaking what if he is? I am sure you would also complain if he wasn't working at all, just because that's how NON-partisan (Republican) types roll.
  3. I read in the Atlanta paper Saturday that a person of interest has turned himself in to the sheriff's dept but as of that date had not given them any additional information or even talked to them about the missing woman so far...maybe something has changed since Saturday.
  4. This sounds more like a hornet's nest than wasp's...
  5. I saw that on the radar, but it looks as if it may have kind of fallen apart now. But that is my non-meteorologist take on the matter, and doesn't mean a whole lot of anything. There is a lot of thunder here now. And rain.

    ice

I have to have ice in my cold drinks, although I prefer it crushed - not cubes that have been pulverized into little pieces but actual crushed ice. And a lot of it.
  7. Actually what sucks is the politicization that has rendered our government incapable of doing the job it is intended to do. They would rather ignore what needs to be done while they spend 2/3 of their time trying to block what their 'opponents' want to do and the other 1/3 stifling what makes this a great country - freedom. If you honestly think there is any difference between the two parties beyond who they are beholden to, you are just not paying attention. And just as being conservative has its good and bad points, so does liberalism. Most people, I would venture to say, are a little of
  8. Oh my, let's pretend it's just the democrats. PS- they are all disgusting.
  9. You are more likely to find a place with a public restroom than you would be to even drive past my place of business. Dallas has a significant homeless population. That is all I am going to say about that.
  10. Exactly. It is all political expedience and we are paying the price. I can't believe anyone actually attempts to justify anything they do, when they bother to do anything at all.
  11. Likely so. Or at least it gives them a valid reason to refuse access to the public. The one in our office is small and located toward the back of the building in an 'employees only' area, so even though we will not refuse a customer's request, especially if they have a child, ours is also not open to the general public. Since we have to use it as well as keep it clean, that would be akin to hanging a 'public restroom' sign on your door at home. Just no.
  12. Based on recent experiences, I am going to say having the 'local person/company' do the work themselves doesn't necessarily guarantee quality. Not at all. I should add that this is not specific to deck repairs... Good luck - I am afraid the days of people taking pride in a job well done are pretty much over.
  13. My mother and step dad used them at two different homes, and were well satisfied.
  14. There are some seriously rude, inconsiderate drivers in the city of Dallas. There is also virtually no traffic enforcement here. Cell phones. People who don't care how their actions affect other people, as well as those who just don't think, period. And people who insult your intelligence by openly and shamelessly lying to your face. .
  15. Yeah, that's my only reaction to the story, I'm sorry they killed it. And I would rather have not seen photos of the dead animal, whatever it turns out to be.
  16. Not sure who I thought recorded the first two - some hair band that was not Night Ranger, I guess. I don't even recognize the third except for its similarity to a title by Keith Whitley (one of the few artists not blocked by my country music filter-outerer). Sister Christian is bearable mostly because it has some prominent keyboard/piano parts and I love me some piano.
  17. That Cagle and Kemp are front runners doesn't say anything good about the voters of Georgia. Ugh.
  18. There were other songs? That is the only one I know of by that band...
  19. Yeah I think it's that whole 'if something bad happens, it's probably gonna be really bad' aspect of it, along with the fact that you can't just pull over and get out if you aren't comfortable with the ride....
  20. Have heard from a couple of different people who liked the food.
  21. HAHAHA! What a pompous, condescending bi...er, remark.
  22. "looks a bit odd" Seriously? None of the accusations against Trump originated with anyone here; you do realize that, right? Eight years of hate and vulgarity spewed here at Obama, his wife and his children didn't keep you away from this site, so why the sour grapes all of a sudden? I think you don't really know much about any true 'sense of fairness' if you think it only matters when you believe your views prevail.
  23. To those five or six people who chose to park their vehicles directly ON the sidewalk along N Johnston Street, blocking it completely, your failure to think of anyone or anything beyond yourselves created a dangerous situation for those who did park in a legal space and walked a few blocks to the event. When it was over, families with small children and babies in strollers as well as adults were forced to walk in the street, where of course drivers trying to beat the congestion were generally short on patience for driving along behind groups of pedestrians. First of all, state law prohi
