  1. Have you considered paving stones?
  2. My Daddy died April 15, 1982. I've had to pay taxes every year thereafter. I mailed my taxes this morning, no need to change the routine after 29 years. April 15th sucks.
  3. That's a tough one. I think some of the tire stores in Hiram are open. I would not use them Monday through Saturday but on a Sunday you don't have much choice.
  4. AT&T has gotten so big that customer service folks can't handle anything. I've had a billing problem for almost 2 months. They credited $95 of a $145 payment on Feb 16. I've talked to no less than a dozen customer service folks who can do nothing to resolve the problem. To make things worst the customer service folks say they do not have direct phone numbers and they cannot get emails from "outside". I had my bank send all the backup data to a fax # and was told to address it to "Lee's Group". That was on March 4th. April 4th I was told the system showed they were waiting on me to s
  5. There are 2 close to the Sheriffs Office. 1 on North Industrial Drive and 1 on North Industrial Connector. If it were me I would use the 2nd one because of lots of sheriffs traffic coming and going.
  6. I like Olive Tree and Olive Garden both. They both have their own unique taste. They will bring tax dollars in from Cobb county. I am very excited to hear they will be spending $ here building a new Olive Garden. Welcome to Paulding County Olive Garden.
  7. I've been wanting to get a set for each of my vehicles in memory of my mother and daughter. Anyone know where I can get these?
  8. Me and BeatBoxinGranny47 are having lunch together at the Briar Patch. I just hope he doesn't throw a fit if they don't bring him his juice quick enough.
  9. I've heard the same thing. It's a shame just a few years ago we were scammed / scared into passing a special tax because we were on the verge of going to double sessions. We're still paying that tax on the bonds and the population of the schools does not merit keeping them open? Hopefully Kim will come on here and share some light on the subject.
  10. BeatBoxinGranny47 has suggested I be tested for "Friggin Tastebud Cancer". I have suggested BeatboxinGranny47 open up a new place to eat in one of the local places that has closed. I feel both suggestions might improve both of our life styles and cut into both our pocket books. I thought it might be good for me to experiance some new places and things before I see the doctor and possibily loose my current sense of taste and I thought it also could be a time we all help BeatBoxinGranny47 get some suggestions for his menu. So I will start with a recent review. For lunch today we
  11. Please don't streak at the Briar Patch later. We will be eating supper there and I don't think I stomach the sight of you naked while we are eating.
  12. This has been on the news all morning and it sickens me. They keep showing an interview with the father of the "hostage family". Father says... Jamie is a good guy. Glad Jamie didn't hurt his kids. Jamie didn't mean to cause the officer any harm. Jamie just wanted the officers to feel what he felt when his brother died 10 years ago. This criminal murderer is mean and his buddys are the type jury members that will refuse to hand down a death sentence.
  13. I will get some comments here. In a case like this where there is no question who did it I think we should... • Have 1 appeal within 30 days. • Courts have 5 days to overturn it or not. Then if still found guilty... • Chain the convicted felon to a telephone pole at the location of the murder. • Shoot 1) body part off each hour, starting with little toe and moving to bigger body parts till the murderer is dead. I will bet you the murder rate would go down in biggest percentages in history.
  14. I totally agree with you. However I fear he will get 25 years of appeals and in one of the last courts it will get changed to life in prison. Millions of dollars for the taxpayees in legal fees and in the end we still pay to keep him up. I surely hope you are right and I am wrong.
  15. Great word. Only place we buy tires. Really good prices, honest accessments and great followup service.
  16. Dump trucks running all night... Maybe the economy is picking up a little? Highway 6 is being taken up at night and repaved. I expect they are doing it at night because of heavy traffic during the day. Maybe these trucks are running from this job to the quarrys on the south end of the county?
  17. Been there, done that. I would recommend a few things. • Do not rent to a friend. • List the house with a property manager. I use Premier West. • Set up you a seperate checking account for rent to go into and to pay your expenses out of. • Hold the excess in that account for future months the house might sit vacant or unexpected repair cost might / will occur. • First time the tenent contacts you with a need, send them directly back to the property manager. • Never look back at this house as your other home. It is a business asset now.
  18. The lady applied for a job. Then she had a job in the gift wrapping department. I can't find any reference on the Internet about Belk's stance on this. I'll bet you if Belk had not pushed the issue about wearing the hat and apron the lady would have bucked up and refused to wrap Christmas presents. I still think the lady was trying to win the lottery. Just my opinion but I don't think it had anything to do with her beliefs.
  19. Anything other than an actual measurement in the staircase of the distance between the ceiling and floor above will be a shot in the dark. Also you need to make sure there is no wiring, ducts or plumbing in the area you intend to drill through.
  20. We had some buy 1) burger get 1) of equal or less price free coupons from the drive through little hamburger place in the lower front corner of the K-Mart Shopping Center parking lot. It was a wonderful nice spring evening so we decided to enjoy hamburgers on their picnic tables. We ordered 2) bacon cheese burgers, 2) medium fries and 2) waters (they didn't have unsweet tea). The bill came to more than $17.00. I asked the lady if she took off the coupon. She said yes. I said this can't be right because 2) bacon cheese burger meals with large fries and large cokes is $6.99 x 2 = $15.00 w
  21. I guess we all know why I will never be a judge. I agree telling employees to wear a Santa Hat is not a religious thing. If I would have been the judge I would have told the employee to get a life and pay the employer's legal cost. I wonder what's next? Someone suing their employer because they were told to wear green on St Patricks Day or wear Red, White & Blue on 4th of July or a Pilgrams hat in celebration of Thanksgiving? Or even worst offend the Indians by wearing feathers in celebration of Thansgiving? To me getting $50,000 is like winning the lottery, so if I won it I
  22. Well said. Many of us respect and honor the valuable service you and your fellow drivers provide to our community children every time you step on your buses. Please keep us posted to the out come of this situation.
  23. I too worked where there was a similar situation. I worked for a company where the owner went all out for Christmas. He would fly in for each branches Christmas party and give each employee a Christmas card with a REALLY nice Christmas Bonus check inside the card. Everyone knew coming to the Christmas Party would result in their family having a REALLY good Christmas. We had 1 guy who would give us a hard time all year because we celebrated holidays. Guess what... He was always at the Christmas Party and he always accepted his Christmas Card. I guess you could call it "selective applicatio
  24. Excellent choice, worth the drive.
