Exactly Pubby. If you remember years ago there was not a light at Metromont Road and 278. I tried to get the state to do a study there. The state refused and told me more than once there had to be 2 deaths there before they would consider doing a study. There had been many accidents but no deaths. So a study was never started. When the developer applied for rezoning the property for the Kohls up to Target, the county made it part of the zoning the developer had to apply to the state, obtain the permit and pay for the road improvements and traffic light system at this intersection as part

Going out to eat tonight, I want a good steak in Paulding

My favorite steak is at the Briar Patch. Of course I'm partial to the Briar Patch due to the family connection. I call ahead at Texas Roadhouse to make sure the owner Pete is on duty. You know what they say "the mice play when the cats away". -

While K-Mart sits there showing it's age. -
Yes 1 person may make the mistake. The upper management sets the standard for how that 1 problem is handled. 3 of us went to eat at the little fish place across the street from the Dallas Mickey D's. As I was finishing off my plate I found one of the 3 pieces of fish was over cooked. I went back to the counter and asked if I could swap out this piece of fish. The lady took my plate to the kitchen and returned with a completely new plate loaded down with 6 pieces of fish and the side items. I was shocked because I only wanted to swap the one piece out. She said it was the least

I agree. Same thing I'll tell any neighbors who complain about my stuff.

I took my grandson into this store tonight to buy him some toys for a special occassion. My wife was waiting in the car so I hoped to checkout quickly. Only one register was open and luckily we did not have to wait in line. First the lady asked if I wanted to apply for a rewards card. I told her no. Then she rang up our items. Then I had to do a survey before I could swipe my credit card. The card reader could not read my credit card. The register told her to make an imprint of the card. She dug out an old style credit card machine but did not know how to use it. She asked at least 4 other emp -
3 of us came by one day last week (Monday I think) between 12:10 to 12:20pm intending to eat lunch with you. Either you were not open or the front was so dark it looked like you were closed. If you are not open for lunch you might want to consider revising your operating hours on your P.com signature. If you are open for lunch you might want to consider a big "OPEN" lighted sign in the front window. Also you might want to park several cars out front. We normally count cars to sway us to consider if a new place is a good place to eat. On up Cedarcrest there are 2 eating places in the

You are completely right. I had totally forgotten a tunnel entrance is planned for the corner of 278 & 92 where they tore down the gas station. -
Sam sells used, overstocks, discontinued and scratch & dent. All depends on whY he has a the current time. Many pieces come with a warrenty and he will deliver, setup and haul the old one away. Also Sears has opened an outlet store in the closed down K Mart across the street from the Big Chicken.

I worked at a K Mart in SC in the early 70's. That store rocked. It was staggering the amont of merchandise they moved. People would follow the blue light around waiting for bargains. People came in knowing they would get value for they money and be treated well. One of our duties as a department manager was to go to JC Penney and Sears once a month and compare prices. If we found an item being sold for less we were supposed to notify the manager and lower our price under the other stores price. Wal-Mart opened up in an old Sky City store so I went there. Every item I checked in the -

I love this. Reading this brought back a really good memory of my Mama. Mama would never let us give her a cat. Her's had died of old age years ago. But her neighbors cat would come over to Mama's for breakfast every morning. When Mama would turn on the lights in the morning "Stripes" (her name for this cat) would scratch on the door, Mama would warm up the cat food, Stripes would eat breakfast then take nap, then go home. Mama was at the Dallas Ingle's standing in line one morning when the gentleman behing her started up a conversation. "you got a cat?" Mama replied "nope". Man ask

EPHS Gets Ripped by Former Kicker Now at McEachern

I hope the last conversation between the stepdad and EPHS coach ended with the coach telling the stepdad to leave and take his spoiled brat with him. -
Well I know several of the key players in this mess who have the ability and authority to put this nightmare to an end. I know each one to be an honest and honorable man who loves this county. 5 years of legal arm wrestling is totally unacceptable. I am glad to say several players who put all this mess into action are no longer connected to our county government, mainly Shearin and Crook. Because of this mess and others I will do my best to ensure they (and their self appointed buddies) are never elected to rob us again. To me it's like Bush vs Gore... Who won?... The attorneys won. Surepip... I am very sorry for all the agony you and your family have endured for the past 5 years. I've got a suggestion. I do not know if anyone will take me up on my suggestion. I am sure the lawyers wlll not like it. Let's all meet for a late lunch at the Briar Patch this next week. Here's the plan... David Austin, Larry Ragsdale, Tommie Graham, Todd Pownall, David Barnett and you will sit at a table on the far end towards Martins. We will block off access to that room to anyone else. I'll arrange a pastor to say the blessing. None of us can be close enough to hear your con

I love Kia's commercials. I have a good friend who owns 2). First one is a bigger car, Atimia???, maybe 4 or 5 years old. We've taken several trips in it. Very comfortable car to travel in. 2nd car is a new Soul. It's fun to drive. I've driven both. My friend swears by them. Low cost to buy. Cheap to operate and dependable. He drives a car for 10 years, so trade in value is not an issue to him. I would consider a Kia.

Well said. I too respect Coach Reid and his team of leaders. -
I do not see an issue. It's a building. In Israel I went into Jewish Temples, Catholic Churches, Christian Churches, the Western Wall and the Dome Of The Rock the Muslems's 2nd Holy Place. I'm fine, I enjoyed / learned from the history and customs I saw in each one. Each was a good experiance. I honored each ones wishes such as talking my shoes off before going inside the Dome Of The Rock and covering my head at the Western Wall. I appricate each one inviting me in. I felt no pressure from anyone to convert. Might do us good to be more open to visiting with folks who live and worship diff

To me this is not a Christian vs. non conversation. It's a "is the Cherokee County School Board doing the best they can to provide the best education to their children making the best use of their budget dollars that they can?" conversation. They have had a group come after them and threaten lawsuits while not offering any equal or reasonable options. When my son was graduating from EPHS the graduation was held at the Football stadium. My mother was in declining health and wanted to see her grandson graduate. That was a tough day. It was a long walk, hot, hard to navigate but ye

Name or find one within a 15 to 25 mile radius of the church or any Cherokee County High School that will seat the same number of people, provide the same type facilities (bathrooms, handicap accessability, parking and air conditioning) and within the same budget... up to double the same budget and the Cherokee County School Board will appricate you forever. You will have solved all of their future problems on this subject. I know it's not the same but I wonder where our American idea of not offending someone got so off track... In Africa children die every day from lack of clean drinkin

I feel that when you go to a lender and ask for money and promise to pay that money back you should do what you said you would do. If I came to you and asked for $5.00 to buy let's say milk for the baby and you gave me money then I didn't pay you because the milk spoiled. In reality I scammed you. I might want to blame the grocery store, or the milk supplier, or the milk jug mfg, or my refrigerator mfg, or the DOT timing of the red lights that made me keep the milk in the hot car too long. Doesn't really matter, you got stiffed out of your money. My posting did exactly what I though

Lots good discussion here. Lots of victims. One type victim we have not discussed. Good friends Mom & Dad invested large part of their retirement money in funds providing home loans back in the 90's and early 2000's. Historically low risk, good returns, expected to provide good retirement income. Dad got sick, Dad died, Foreclosures wiped out funds. Mom's house is paid off, Mom can no longer afford taxes and insurance, Mom has got to move out of the family home. Here's my solution to the problem... When you borrow money on a car or home... You never be out from under the burde

I agree. It is stealing. I have heard of folks buying bigger and nicer homes at the bargain prices we are now seeing then letting their other home go back. If the banks would come after these thieves then we would not have so many vacant house pulling our homes values down. I am sure there are some folks who can't make it. But I think letting a house or car go back should be a last ditched resort. I feel I asked my lender to give me money up front so I could have the house I wanted. Somewhere there were investors who provided that money. I will work 3 jobs, go without and pickup

We went to the Briar Patch. It was packed out too. We had ribeyes. They are $6.00 this week. Ours were wonderful.
