  1. Well, the spirit in the appliance hears you talking about the money. Of course...sometimes the car just blabs that it made an extra stop at the bank....they do that sometimes if you go too long with giving them a bath and tire scrub!
  2. His father got arrested for having child porn on his computer - that might have been what you read. It is the reason the grandparents had custody.
  3. However...not all cases get to a jury. In Fulton County they use "Mediators" - which are basically 3 people who hear both sides and make a ruling. And as someone who has been on the defendant side of these lawsuits more than a couple of times (because of the nature of my former business) - I can personally tell you that the big fat fatty fakers are NOT fewer and farther, but more and more often. Some even seem to make a living from padding their billfolds with settlements from the insurance company. Thank G*d I don't have to deal with THAT anymore. It makes you lose faith in humanity.
  4. Very true - however in this case - we knew the woman from the bank as we see her sometimes when we go inside to make deposits. But you are correct - if the caller is asking YOU to give them information, then you do need to be careful.
  5. The bank called and said it was on a "hot list." Mastercard/Visa sends out this type of list when they suspect that someone has gotten hold of the card information (apparently taken from the strip). They automatically cancel the card when this happens - so the bank called to tell us what was going on. She said that there were several names on the list from the same bank - so they know it was somewhere local in the area. (No clue where though)
  6. Hubby's card was compromised (no charges though) too. Which Race Trac? He only uses it to get gas and occasionally when we eat out.
  7. You might want to try and edit your subject line - it says "Hi and Run" Hope they find whoever did it!
  8. I usually avoid the midnight and early morning Thanksgiving sales - but am trying to help a family member out. Does everything sell out super-quick when Wal Mart does these kind of sales? If electronics go on sale at midnight - what time do I actually need to be there? I kind of wondered if the Dallas Hwy Wal Mart might actually get more inventory than the one in Hiram - does anyone know if this is the case? I really want to make this happen because it's been a rough year, but don't know the ends and out to not miss out. Any advice for a newbie Black Friday buyer? Thanks!
  9. The one where she is reading the sale paper and crying just makes me want to throw something at the tv screen. I'll be glad when that series of commercials is over! Oy!
  10. Here - call the Butterball hotline and ask the experts! They will let you know if it would be safe or not! 1-800-BUTTERBALL (800-288-8372) Weekdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST (Central Standard Time)
  11. Can't answer that one - but someone is offering a 50 inch for $599. I've seen it advertised on television and it is a Panasonic.
  12. Villa Rica. We had some errands to run out that way - so I thought we would give it a try for lunch. We don't go to D'ville much any more - but will keep it in mind if we go over there for something. Thanks for the information!
  13. Well, we ate there! Food was great - but hubby thought it could have been a little warmer. We weren't sure if the hibachi came with the buffet? Our server brought us our drinks and disappeared before we could ask. We filled up on everything else though. Thanks for the "thumbs up" recommendation. We'll def. stop by there again when we are in the area!
  14. We may be going to Villa Rica tomorrow and if we do - I thought we might try Lin's Restaurant. I remember some people on here talking about how good it is. Anyway, I looked around online and there is not much about them. I was wondering if they are open on Sundays and also if anyone knew how much the lunch buffet is? Thanks in advance for the info!
  15. It got better as it went along. By the time it was over - I was hooked. btw - the boy use to be on Mad Men.
  16. There was a teenage couple walking the trail tonight that stopped on the far side of the trail to do some major touchy feely grinding (with clothes on)shortly after I passed them. Guess they thought no one could see them, but I stopped for a break and was sitting on the bench at one of those exercise stations. (I bet the guy with his dog on the hill got the full view) Maybe the sheriff department needs to send some undercover officers over there to see what is really going on before some innocent little kid gets exposed to something they really, really don't need to see.
  17. Can you tell me what section of 120 it was on? Was it before Courthouse road or after? Thanks!
  18. Ummm, I'll make a guess here and say that since no one reported hearing a chase on the scanner - that the gun shot was self-inflicted. That would also explain - a lone car in a church parking lot with a blue tarp over it - while the sheriff's department and ambulance people stood nearby not doing anything. The coroner would most likely come out to confirm nothing suspicious had occurred.
  19. Did you use magazines pages instead of newspaper to mage your magazine holder? Fascinating idea!
  20. Is his truck a Ford? (Hubby has problems with his truck doing this too)
  21. I agree. Freelance writer here that works from home. It is VERY possible to work from home and make a good living.
  22. I wish they would do a movie night for adults (date night!)and show an old movie like Casablanca or a Cary Grant movie!
  23. They could have easily slowed the vehicle down and let the snake get off. I'm sure that was quite terrifying for the snake and it looked like he fell after he went over near the driver's mirror. I feel fairly certain he didn't make it or the reporter would have mentioned it. Sad.
