Is the church up in Hiram having theirs? They usually do it either the Saturday before or the Saturday after the 4th (can't remember).

MOLTEN LAVA CAKE.......DO YOU HAVE A SUREFIRE RECIPE?
SushiBoofay replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Actually, it was MasterChef! The recipe on the Channel 4 site looks close - but I think a lot of them were following Joe's advice on the topping --- wasn't it just a little cocoa powder? -
One way to look at it is ---- Good snakes eat bad (poisonous) snakes. They also eat rodents. We had a king snake at our old house that we saw almost every year. Each year it would be just a little bit bigger and always appeared in the same place on the hill sunning itself on top of the pine straw. Needless to say I didn't do any raking or yard work in that area during the summer. It didn't bother us and we didn't bother it.

My Dad saw Dr. Hartley who is part of Ga Lung, but has his office near Piedmont. He is one of the best and most caring doctors that my Dad ever saw. He helped my Dad keep a positive attitude after the cardiologists pretty much wrote him off. I did hear good things about Dr Lassiter when my Dad was taking pulmonary rehab at the center in Austell. My Dad's other doctors were all at Piedmont so that is why he ended up with Hartley.

Karate Place in New Hope - anyone go there?
SushiBoofay replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks for the reply! That makes me feel better. Do you know anything about the Qi Gong classes there? I saw they do Senior classes in the mornings (I'm not there yet, but it was good to know!) and then one class every Tuesday evening. -
I noticed the New Hope Martial Arts Center has Qi Gong. I was wondering if anyone on here attends this class (or any of their other classes). If so --- how do you like it? I have only found one review --- and it was not favorable. This is the only nearby place I have found that offers Qi Gong --- so I would like to give it a try, but would feel better if I knew someone else had a good experience there. Thanks in advance!

If someone asked you to clean their house,

How old is this woman? Is it possible that she doesn't have a concept of how much is normally charged for this kind of work? -
It also says NO antihistamines or decongestants!!!! (????) What exactly are you suppose to do to treat one? Without a decongestant --- I would just have to shoot myself!

Now here's my question.... If you knew that your husband was in on downing an airliner.....why would you leave for Washington DC on a PLANE??? Wouldn't you drive or go by bus instead? P.S. Does anyone know what the song was that played at the end?

Quality Chef does not deliver. I should know. I frequent them so much - they don't even ask me for my phone number anymore. If their daughter answers the phone she tells ME what I'm ordering.

Did you recently fill your tank with gas? If so - check to make sure the gas cap is on securely. Jeeps seem to have a problem with this.

My aunt and uncle think that my mother needs one of those Life Alert type necklaces. I have been looking online, but am not sure which one is considered the best. Does anyone have any experience with these types of devices and what do you think of them?

I didn't see Nicolette Sheridan (who is suing/sued the producer), but I did see a long-haired blonde woman standing off by herself. I think that was suppose to be Edy. Did anyone else notice this?

Anyone using the Meals On Wheels Program for Seniors?
SushiBoofay replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
She's a good cook, but even when Dad was still with us --- I couldn't get her to cook meals ahead. Lately, I have wondered if she is afraid she will forget she is cooking....she seems to be using the microwave to cook everything including meat (which - of course- gets rock hard when cooked like that). I'm calling her doctor tomorrow to see if we need a special diet. Also checking with Meals on Wheels to see what all is involved with it. -
Ever since my Dad passed away my mother has not been eating healthy. She doesn't want to cook for one person, so she eats whatever is the easiest for her to fix. I discovered that this is often just a peanut butter sandwich. I was wondering if anyone uses the Wheels on Meals program for their parents (or themselves) and if you could tell me a little bit about it. She won't go to the Senior Center - so the food would have to come to her. Do they bring food out five days a week or how does this work? Any information you can give me would be great! I'm going to call them tomorrow, but I would

Did anyone notice if they have "Life Is Good" t-shirts with the little guy and/or dog on them?

Well, my understanding is that suicide use to be looked at as a mortal sin - since taking your life was considered a crime against nature/God etc.. BUT....in more recent years - we have learned that depression is a sickness/disease and that people who are deeply depressed and commit suicide are not considered to be "in their right mind" or rather thinking rationally. IF this is the case (they were depressed when they committed suicide) - then it would not be considered a sin because it was not an intentional act when the person was considered to be thinking clearly or logically.

A friend's father died yesterday. She is having him cremated and ashes scattered at sea through the Neptune Society. Perhaps they could help you - when you're ready to do something with the ashes. www.neptunesociety.com

Pour it into ice cube trays - freeze it and cook with it!

Rockmart's Steakhouse is much better for the price. We were really disappointed in Aspen Steaks.

Ironically, your little snake actually WAS a Yellow Ring Neck. They look like baby snakes even when they are full grown. Harmless and they eat lots of insects.

Place that evaluates senior citizen drivers?
SushiBoofay replied to SushiBoofay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks! I hadn't thought about them! -
Does anyone know of a nearby place that evaluates senior citizen drivers to see if it is okay for them to still drive? My mother has done very little driving the last few years, but my Dad has recently passed and now she is wanting to get back out more on the road. I would like to have someone evaluate her ability to drive, but so far all I have found on the Internet is the AARP classes and it doesn't appear that they evaluate drivers - just teach driver safety.
