  1. I don't want the contract to be written where the county takes the hits (i.e. the taxpayers) if the commercial operation fails. From what I've seen, too easy for both Propeller and the airline chosen to walk away and leave us with the bag. Then the commissioners will come up with something REALLY bad to try to generate funds off the runway. Like 2:00 AM Cargo takeoffs. Yuck.
  2. I imagine it's because it's not quite ready for widespread use yet. A drug that attacks damaged cells but leaves undamaged alone must be a very complicated item to get just right.
  3. Great, now I'll have to get up at 2:00 AM to make it to the hunting club before dawn....
  4. If it's a tube type TV, you can recycle it there for $10, or dump it with other stuff up to 500 lbs for $10. Depends on how environmentally friendly you are willing to be.
  5. I just can't believe that all these doctors are cleaning up after patients and then picking their nose. I mean after all, Pubby said that's the most likely way to get it.
  6. Sounds to me like the bank made a bad deal and is trying to intimidate their way into a fix that doesn't cost them anything. If that story is true, no way do I as a board member sign off on any kind of modification without lots of legal representation.
  7. If you do a lot of washing, the water savings on the front loaders can be big. Our wintertime water usage dropped 30% when we got out first front loader. Newer washers have the ability to leave the door cracked when empty (at least ours does) to make sure the seals dry properly without mildew.
  8. Thanks for the review. They kept popping up on my facebook page, I wondered if it was legit.
  9. I noticed that the warning is for the owner to "get them fixed", not that the manufacturers are going to fix them. Figuring a minimum of 2 airbags per car at $500 - $700 each (Assuming you can find newer replacements for an older cars like these, many of the ones I found on the internet here were used) and 11-12 year old cars, most of them will not get replaced, the cars will be driven anyway or junked. (or perhaps the airbags just removed) Of course, I think that the fact there was an announcement means that a dealer cannot sell them until they are fixed, so the announcement just m
  10. Always good to hear about a local person that does good.
  11. One of our invitations that was a couple's shower read: It's a couple's shower!! (That's how this got started, a couple in the shower)
  12. My wife's uncle lives around 5 miles from the club, so we always head over there to partially process the deer. The hind quarters, backstrap, tenderloins and shoulders go into an ice filled cooler for 3 days or so before processing. I'm thinking about getting a grinder myself when I was charged $70 to process a cooler of meat.
  13. Pricing varies wildly even within Ga. It was 2.98 in Mt vernon, ga, 2.79 in Lyons ga, I paid 2.83 in Macon to fill up and 3.03 here. It's just really strange. If you figure that even the lowest prices are making money, then somebody around here is making a KILLING on profit. Where is TP with a chart when we need him?
  14. Got a doe this morning in Montgomery country. Unless something major changes, I will be buck only for the rest of the season.
  15. I was a coop student with them many moons ago. We worked on software for the original IBM PC. My managers boss gave notice and they walked him out.
  16. When I worked at IBM, if you gave two weeks notice, they walked you to your office, watched you pack *your* things only, then walked you out. I assume they paid them for those two weeks, but they didn't want someone that was planning to leave to have access to anything of the company's assets. Don't take it personally.
  17. It kinda depends on if they re-seed with pines. If they are thinning (or clearing) to make room for a mixed hardwoods and pine forest to come it, then I could understand it.
  18. You would think that if they were smart enough to survive 4-6 years of nursing school and who knows how much on the job training, that they would be careful knowing that this thing has a 50% to 70% death rate. But then again, they might have believed Pubby's theory that they had to pick their nose with their gloves after cleaning up after the victim to get it.
  19. I wonder if the logging is to keep the area from becoming too much of a fire hazard. It's one thing for virgin forest to grow naturally, but a pure pine farm with layer after layer of pine straw around the trees would seem to be a open invitation for a major fire. Not that I'm a forest expert understand, but I did burn some pine limbs this weekend.
  20. Can you say "Political influence" on the CDC leadership. I knew you could. The democrats know that this thing blowing up in their face will kill them during the election. Like Bush tried to discount warnings about the housing bubble and hold off the crash of 2008 until *after* the election, but failed, so did Obama and his crew hope that Ebola wouldn't jump over here before the election and discounted the warnings and it appears have failed.
  21. Well then, it's simple. From what I'm reading here, Liberia just needs to start a single payer health system and everyone will suddenly be cured! We should send every one of their leaders a copy of the Affordable Health Care Act to help them get started.
  22. Yep. Like I said, I hope they remove and burn the isolation tent properly or we could be in a world of hurt.
  23. And the plane passed through HJ later that day... This "Monitoring" those exposed crap is leaving huge holes in our security. It's offical, our government is totally useless.
  24. Wait up one night and Choot 'em! It's about the only way you'll get rid of them. Note that they are pretty smart animals. If you miss the first time, you'll likely have trained him/her to stay away if they can see you.
