My Brother-in-Law has stories about the Smyrna Police Dept too. I stay away from there. -
A little late for fall storms, but not uncommon. It's George Bush's Global Warming's fault.

Bad jobs, think your's is the worst?

I've been in the same job as an engineer for about 25 years now. I started to jump into management about 15 years ago, but the crash in the optical market threw me back into engineering and I've not regretted it at all. I may not make the money of some of the fast talkers, but I enjoy what I do. -
ANOTHER ONE IN ISOLATION IN BOSTON............

No, private sector is not best at everything. Private sector army for profit would be a bad idea. Or how about Supreme court for profit? Or Police for Profit? There are things that the Federal and State government do that are their jobs. Defense of the entire US is one of them. The reason that no one has a vaccine is that no outbreak has ever affected more than 1000 people or so before and most of them in the African bush country. Add to that, the issue that development of vaccine for Ebola is tough because there are several different strains and all of them require a different -

This is a matter of public defense, keeping this virus outside of the US, like any other enemy. That is supposed to be a federal requirement. I have no problems with sending help over there, God knows they need all the help they can get! But we need to keep ourselves safe too. -

Looks like one of the health workers in Dallas that cared for Duncan has it now. They are trying to save the dog, unlike spain, who killed the nurses dog "just in case" http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_EBOLA_CDC?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2014-10-12-11-34-33 -
political reform split from Hammer comes down on surepip

If the democrats would come up with a middle of the road Candidate , I'd vote for them in a heartbeat. Same with the republicans. I'm tired of the "in it for myself" extremists. I think I'm voting Libertarian where I can just to let them know they can't take my vote with crappy candidates. Call it a waste or call it a protest vote. If enough of the middle of the road people did this, the parties would bend to try to suck us back in. -
As I understand the story... Surepip lived out on a pretty open part of land when all the land around him was purchased by a developer. There were several things the developer did, like promising open buffer space between their property and the houses during the planning meeting, but secretly taking it out of the proposal before the wonderful BOC voted on it and passed it that afternoon. Then, during the building of the subdivision, they built a new road, but to make their lots the correct size, they put the road something like 30 ft over on Surepip's land. Like the entire road and 5

Both freezers left for their new home. Hopefully they made it ok. It was good to see so many pcom people out there. :-)

I have a big container of paper, I'll try to remember to throw it in the truck. I doubt I will be able to get to the house until 6:00 or so.

Will the court be meeting on Columbus Day? Not sure how that court works. Really hate for this drag out to Tuesday!!

Yea right, evidence my foot. Call JJ, this is obviously a racial dispute now!!

I've got a F-150 and can be free after 5:00!

Don't forget Dallas FT Worth and Love Field. Looks to be about 10 miles in Google Maps. I've flown in to ATL several time in the last month or so that passed just west of Paulding (I waved, did anyone see me?). The patterns at that distance from HJ are still pretty high up.

I hadn't heard that. Wonderful. I think I'm voting Libertarian next month for everything that has an option to do so. I'm too disgusted with both the main parties to vote for either one but haven't missed an election in years and don't want to start. Not voting is not the answer. Maybe if a third party can get a hunk of the votes they main parties will figure out they need to change. Rewarding them by voting for them as the "lessor of two evils" doesn't seem to have worked very well, they can't tell the difference between that and people loving their extremist attitudes. .

I wonder what our bomb stockpile is right now and if we have enough to do a true shock and awe type attack. We have used up a bunch in the last 10-15 years over there and don't remember hearing about any bills passing congress to build the stockpiles back up. (Do we even have a bomb building facility here any more?) . Not to mention transport ability to get them over there. Flying bombs halfway across the world just doesn't work, we don't have the transport aircraft and the expense is rediculous. I suspect they have to be moved by train to the coast, put on a ship then moved to the area. L

They just borrowed it from the Chinese. That's free money right?

There may those around here who will be glad to take it, but again how many people would drive past HJ to get here? Especially when there will be limited parking. The majority of the Atlanta population is closer to HJ than here. Add in the abundance of alternate flights if there is a problem and I don't see anything bigger than a commuter jet being able to be filled consistantly.

The number of strands that get in your body can be key to your survival. Because of their protective procedures I suspect that both doctors had minimal contamination. Of course it could also be the strain was different. With 3000 victims who knows how many various strains there are now.

Lets look at the situations in the Airports you mention, distance from major airport and location: Golden Isles airport to Savannah Airport - 70 miles (1 hour 2 minutes) Golden Isles airport to Jacksonville Airport - 62 miles (56 minutes) Concord airport to Charlotte Airport - 21.2 miles (35 minutes, good traffic) - Note: Concord is on the opposite side of the city as the Charlotte Airport, like DeKalb–Peachtree Airport airport vs HJ. Not the same side as Silver Comet is. Orlando International Airport to Orlando Stamford Airport - 33 miles (30 minutes - Toll road) N

I don't like it. There are plenty of examples of this administrations failures in national security without using that example. JMO. -
Had no idea that they used their tails so much in a body support role. Seeing them lift both feet off the ground to kick while balancing on their tail is wild!

You are the one that said that was how it was transferred. If you want to back off that statement, then we can have a civil conversation about it. The people in Spain KNEW the priest was coming. I feel quite sure they were quickly trained and reminded of what to do for a fluid transferred virus. However, she got it anyway. *viruses change* it may be trying to become an aerosol. You know, evolution, the kingpin of all Democratic Scientific thought. We cannot assume that passing through generation after generation of hosts in Africa that it won't change.

Well, according to Pubby, she must have licked her hands after helping the patient, that's the only way to get it.
