My Grandmother lived next door to Mary Phagan when she was killed. My Grandmother always said Leo Frank killed her and it had nothing to do with relegion. I have been to the Theater on the Square and to The Fox to see the plays, as well as seen several movies and quite a lot reading. They never depict what my Grandmother had to say.

Help! We are buying a new vehicle and need some advice
confederaterose replied to raclay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
From what I see on TV, I think you can go to usaa.com/carbuyer? and get the information. It sounds as if you do not have to be USAA member to take advantage of this. The commerical is on at least once and hour so the e-mail address is not correct, you should have no trouble getting it. I am a USAA member and had them negotiate the deal the last time I bought a new car and saved thousands of dollars. Good Luck! -
The Acworth Post Office takes walks-ins and takes the picture. We just did the normal service and got it in about 3 weeks. Since it is walk-in, first come first served, we had about a 30 minute time lapse for the picture and passport.

HB 87 basically deals with employment issues. In my wildest dream how anyone that can read could think when the law says ANYONE that seeks employment with a fake ID is subject to 15 years and a $250,000 could be discrimintory. By the way, the US Supreme Court had already ruled on e-verify before the GA law went in effect. So, it is the law of the land. I am sure there are laws that deal with fake ID's for underage users. It is just not covered in HB87. Yes, welcome to the South of the 60'sm where people in 2011 either cannot read or are unable to comprehend the English language!

I have read the entire bill and I am not a lawyer; however, I read it to say if a fake ID is used to get employment, such as identity thief, it is punishable by 15 years in jail. I really do not think it has anything with a kid walking into a bar with an ID card in his own name, that is showing he a couple of years older than he really is.

Rarely do I agree with anything that Dekalb County does. In this case there is a thumbs up. They are using volunteers to help with the budget cuts. This is keeping their Libraries and a large number of other services on line. In order to volunteer, you must pass a background check and commit to a certain number of hours. In the survey done by Dekalb County, a whoping 86% said yes they would volunteer.

As unbelievable as it is, some idiot Judge granted the 3 adults bond today. I would think anyone not in this country legally would be a flight risk. The 3 juveniles were released to their parents. Why was eveyone that attended not arrested and deported? First of all they were breaking the law by being here illeglly. They broke any number of laws yesterday. Only 3 of them got charged with 2 misdemeanors each. Are police no long sworn to up-hold the law? Are Judges not sworn to up-hold the law?

Where is the nearest Social Security Office to us

I did the process on line for both my husband and me. Simple and no problems. -
We recently bought a foreclosure. There was $149,000 owed on it and we got it for $49,500. The best part about it, it only had cosmetic issues. It is not an easy process. The most important thing is have a HUD Certified real estate agent. The goverment makes it so complicated that you have to have an agent that knows how to jump though all the hoops. If anyone wants to know who I used, just PM me.

I do my own taxes and assist others when they are doing for the first time. I use freetaxusa.com. Pretty much if you can read, you can use this site, it is so well designed. There used to be a cap on the amount can earn. That no longer exist. The Federal return is free and the GA return is $10. I used to use Turbo Tax. It ended up that the IRS said my taxes were wrong and it ended up costing me $4,000.

Apparently, we are the only people from around here or old enough to remember it. I was working @ 285 and Powers Ferry. Since, I was a Supervisor, I could not leave until everyone had left the office. I finally got home around 1AM. It was 5 degrees so the first flake that fell stuck and every flake after that. My power was out for mor than a week. Since it was so cold and the power was out, a lot of peoples water pipes froze and caused more havoc. I worked for USAA. Their answering service people must not have gone home at all. They patched calls to my house, so many that I h

The Wachovia / Well Fargo Transition...just as I thought
confederaterose replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What ticks me about them, in addition to the above, is that when you issue a check on line, in some cases, they do not pay the payee for a week. On Sunday, Oct. 31, I issued a check. It showed my account would be debited on 11-1 and the payee would receive the money on 11-8. I called them and ask what they plan to do with my money for a full week. He said the payee probaly did not have on line banking so a paper check would have to be sent. I said when it was Wachovia, USAA had on line banking and they got the money the same day it came out of my account. I checked the listed of payees -
T-Bird hit it on the nail. I, too, thought the story was very misleading. From what I read on here, I thought she darted out in front of car. Fox 5 said she only had 1 foot in the roadway when struck by a car traveling 45 to 50 miles per hour?

This mornings AJC said he had an 18 month old, who was the car at the time of the shooting, an 8 month old, the one that got shot and twins on the way.

We have seen the movie. All in all we liked it. DH was surprised how they sliced and diced the movie. Such as he said they hauled the casket around with the donkey all day and then it was even in the movie. There was 2 close-ups of DD and even though the funeral party was fast moving, we saw 4 shots of DH's car. Since he had 1 of 5 running cars, the one leaving the funeral party is him driving DD waving.

Have not heard of any around here since the forties, when all the guys were returning from the war. If you did not have them, you knew someone that did. Everybody knew how to get rid of them and it is not the way they are saying on TV and spending thousands of dollars. 1. Bath 2. Wash clothes and all bed linens. 3. Sun you mattress, as bed bugs cannot tolerate the sun. The end of the problem.

County Bond Mill-Rate Increasing 16.9%

It is doubtful that it will do any good, but, I encourge everyone to e-mail or call the commissions not to raise taxes. You can e-mail them @ commissioners@paulding.gov. -
Being retired from the insurance industy, when Oxedine became insurance commissioner, it was like breath of fresh air. I even have a letter from him thanking me for my large contribution. Now I consider him one of the most corrupt politicans in the State, and there are a lot of them. Did anyone else watch the interviews on channel 46 of people running for governor? I did not get to see all of them. Of the ones I did see, it appears to me Bolton is most off the wall. Since he really is not in the running, I pretty much discounted what he had to say. Handel and Oxendine both want to ge

Where are the cheapest local places to buy cigarettes?

The Shell station @92 and l20. There are two Shell Stations at this intersection. It is the one that is on the same side of the street as Walmart. Pall Mall $27. Not sure about the prices of other brands. -
Actually, I do not have the authority to demand to see immigration papers on anyone. I think they are suspect when they do not speak English and or claim not to speak English. Do you have a better way of deciding someone's legal status?
-
When he stopped by my house, I told him how displeased I am that the county and cities allow sub-contracts to hire illegals. The grass cutters that cut the county right of ways appears to be illegal, as they do not speak English. When Dallas was bricking the sidewalks, it appeared illegals were doing that. I have not witnessed but rumor has it that the county only hires a contractor for rockmason work that hires illegals, as of course, he is low bidder. A lot of the repaving work goes to CW Matthews and that work appears to be done by illegals. With the employment rate in this

The MDJ does not deliver to Paulding County, so I pay them to read it page by page on the internet. I also take the AJC and it is delivered to my driveway each morning. It is very interesting to see get different view points, so I can be informed from both sides. Both papers typically have more Paulding County news that the New Era.

Easy FREE parking in Marietta
confederaterose replied to nicholascolephotographer's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes, we plan to attend. Look for us in the parade. We will be driving the 31 Ford, two tone green and black. Hope to see you there, since you no longer have your studio in Dallas. -
It makes sick to think this county is BROKE, yet, they still have money to shoot off fireworks, hide thousands of Easter eggs, have the road right of ways cut by illegals and the list goes on. Just goes to show this lot of politicans are just as bad as the last one. Is Paulding County going to ever get someone compenant in office, so they balance the budget and stop laying off-furloughing people? By the way, it is lawful to shoot off fireworks, so I do not know what there is for the PCS to enforce about that.
