Ohio Couple Indicted for Returning Adopted Son
confederaterose replied to lucky64's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Things are not always as they seem. Did you read the AJC last Sunday? Adoptive parents of a 16 year old took her to DFAC, wanting her put in a treatment program (in house). Instead DFAC put in a foster home. The child ended up committing suicide. -
I thought it was the new standard to send 8 sheriff's cars. A couple of weeks ago, 8 sheriff's cars lined up in front of my house (just a convenient place to park). They told my husband they were looking for someone who has terrorized our neighborhood for the last 15 years. I thought oh, no he has killed somebody now. I kept checking the Sheriff's website until I saw he had been captured. Guess what? 4 misdemeanor traffic charges with a total bond of $2600. This person was eluding police at 9 years old on his four wheel. Why would it be any different that he is old to enough to drive

I am appalled also. I heard a short bleep about 10 Paulding County teachers trying to get this child help. Did I hear this correctly? If so, what is story on that and what system failed the child prior to him dying?

It will not effect me either way, so I really did not care. Then I saw where Kasim Reed is against it and plans to fight it. Now I say full steam ahead. Hope it starts very soon. What business is it of Kasim's what Paulding County does?

I do not know what is going on with the Sheriff's website. It has not been updated since the 20th and here lately, they have only been updating about once a week. When I call them they do update it. I try to check it every day, as 2 people that have terrorized our neighborhood for the last 15 years are showing to be in jail. I heard there was a warrant out for their Dad. The jail seems to have a revolving door for these hoodlums.

I also recommend Ga. Eye Specialist. Especially Dr. Benedict. He did both my eyes and both my husband's eye. Doing a great job on both. I am not saying Marietta Eye Clinic is not good. I used to take my Mother there and the wait time was hours and hours, which got on my last nerve. Dr. Benedict used to be with Marietta Clinic. He said he left and started his own practice because of the wait time. The sign in his office says if you have not been called with-in 15 minutes of the appointment time to check with the receptionist.

Typically, the salvage stores have them in the $15 range. Goodwill, St Vincent de Paul.

I have never been able to get the Paulding Gov. website to load without typing in the www.

The last time I was at Cornerstone, Douglasville, they had free classes. They also had a nice assortment of sewing machines.

I got an e-mail from Maggie Moss@ Marietta Parks and Rec. It said they would make a decision by noon tomorrow. She said she would e-mail me again tomorrow afternoon, as to whether or it would be cancelled. If it is not cancelled look for us, entry 38. It is a 1931 Ford A-Model Victoria, two tone green with black fenders.

Getting a replacement Social Security card
confederaterose replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Several year ago, I went to the SS office in Marietta. I had a photo ID as well as a pay stub that had SS# on it. I walked away with a new card with-in 30 minutes. -
Goodwill only serves to make the owner rich. I NEVER donate to Goodwill I saw a report on TV where they pay some employees as little as 38 cents an hour, which is legal if they are disabled. It just makes me sick. I always donate to St. Vincent De Paul. All workers are vol. They have a place next to the salvage store to serve the needy. I feel they are truly a charity. The are located a little past the hospital, headed toward 278 on the other side of the road.

OLD FASHIONED LEMON CAKE WITH LEMON CURD******HOW?
confederaterose replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am not sure what kind of cake you are trying to make. If you want to know about the lemon curd part, I have made lemon curd and it is pain the rear. The Kroger brand of lemon curd is the best I have ever eaten. -
Many years ago, I took the course through the Cobb County Police Academy. I do not have any idea if they still offer it. If they do, it was a great course and very inexpensive. The course covered several hours of class room, from everything to cleaning the gun to the law. We then went to the firing range and learned how to shoot.

I am most likely the only person who hates Alaska. We took a motor trip around every main road and most pig trails. I will never go back. We drove, as I remember, over 5,000 miles. In that 5,000 miles, we never saw a police officer. From the things the locals did, I got the impression most of the people there were running from the law. There was some very pretty scenery and we did get to see the top of Mt. McKinley, which is rare. That did not make up for the mosquitoes and the people that live there.

Little old lady’ arrested in Atlanta for dealing marijuana
confederaterose replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
She was only supplementing her social security check. In this economy you have to make money any way you can. -
I think the lady @ Mt. Tabor just teaches keyboard. There is a sign in a yard on Mt. Tabor Church Road, in front of a house, that says piano lessons. The house is between E. Paulding and Bobo.

I have taken my Pfaff to Cornerstone in Douglasville. The were very good. Michelle at Mt. Tabor Park teachs sewing. She and her students all use Singers. I have seen her do work on Singers, more than just minor repairs. Depending on what is wrong with yours, you might be able to help you, give her a call and see if she can repair it.

Question about pension and income tax
confederaterose replied to MissSophie's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It depends on income and as to how much SS and pensions are taxed. All of both were taxable until I turned 65, then you get some extra credit. I would suggest you go to Freetaxusa.com and complete a tax from. It will tell you how much is taxable. You do not have to submit the form; but, it will give you an accurate idea and whether or not you perfer an accountant. -
I agree FreeTax USA is absolutely the best and so easy.

Georgia Home Owner Shoots And Kills A Young Latino Man
confederaterose replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Apprantly, there is more to this story than is posted on here. Some of the things I have heard: 1. The young man had pulled into the driveway next door and sat for 5 minutes. 2. Wife was on phone with 911 at time of shooting. 3. After warning shot, young man tried to run over homeowner. 4. Homeowner thought it was going to be a home invasion. The Judge must have thought there was some merit to his arguements, as he has been released on $10,000 bail. I have a carry permit and gun owner. If someone pulls in my driveway and then tries to run over me after a warning shot, yes I wi
