  1. Last night they were out of stuff, simple stuff, like lettuce. They screwed up the order twice, meaning got it the first time, it was wrong, take it inside, they hand us another bag, still wrong, and they wanted to argue about it. And now I've got the Louisiana trots today. Yeah, it sure did taste okay, but meh.. I'm over it.
  2. Early warning weather dog predicts a storm is a brewing.
  3. Since you can get the disc in and out, it's not a power issue. Is the drive showing up in "My Computer" with a drive letter designation? If so it's not a data cable issue. If you are comfortable enough with screwing about with the drive tray, attempt to do this, the bezel covering on the drive tray CAN be removed. It will snap off in an upward direction, but there may be tabs/clips on the back you will need to possibly pry with a fingernail. Remove the drive tray bezel and see if the drive works. If you NEED the drive replaced/fixed ASAP, give me a PM, not advertising but
  4. Could this be your problem? http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27149099-Connectivity-Intermittent-Drops
  5. I'm guessing you mean the CD/DVD/Etc drive? Does the tray open and shut? Does it attempt to read the disc? If so, you may try to manually push in the tray, forcefully. The manufacturing of these drives have gotten stupid cheap, and so has the quality. I'm seeing tons of these replacement drives that will not seat properly upon tray retraction. Giving them a little shove may reseat the tray properly, I've seen this work more often than not.
  6. Satellite internet providers have latency that's measured in seconds, meaning it takes a few seconds for a signal to travel to space and back and have very low caps in place so streaming and downloading big files won't work with them. The only other providers are going to be wireless such as Verizon and T-Mobile using cellular technology, which again will have latency issues, signal issues, and oh yeah.. onerous caps and $$$. Yeah.. ATT and Comcast are about your only reliable choices. You can seek to go through a DSL Reseller such as ExtremeDSL or Covad, but there are limitatio
  7. The Nook Tablet can be rooted and a custom OS installed via using a pre-made set of files copied onto an SDCard. It's as simple as formatting the SD-Card, copying the files to it, putting it in the Nook, and rebooting it. Also Microsoft has recently invested heavily in the Nook Reader platform for their own content delivery store. Does that make it the choice for you? Probably Not. I can only recommend what you'd be comfortable using. The Kindle seems to be the clear favorite among most as a budget reader vs. iPad. My wife uses the Nook, I use my Android Phone for my rea
  8. Can't blame anyone anymore. We have a private lake on our property and it's been a blessing and curse. And the curse has to do with other people. We tried inviting select friends and family over to fish etc.. and it quickly gets out of hand. Why? Mainly it's the lack of respect anymore and once you roll out the welcome mat folks tend to walk all over it if you know my meaning. We did this for one summer a number of years ago, and it took several subsequent years to "chase" off numerous folks who would trespass and act as if they had a right to be here, because a friend of a fr
  9. D3 Launch has encountered a few hiccups!
  10. Meh, I'm ready for them to chip me up with some RFID and put a barcode on the back of me head.
  11. My D3 battletag is Riptides#1555 the wife's is Noirone#1175 look for us in game. We're thinking about going to bed here in an hour and getting up at 3am.

  13. I believe in premonitions. I have intense moments of Deja Vu which I take seriously because when they hit it's usually at a moment of indecision and I found it to be in my best interest at those moments to stop and think things through, yet again if I've already done so.
  14. Same here, I played the hell out of the original back in the 90's, never picked up D2 at all other than a demo/trial on a PC Gamer disc. Was surprised to find a beta invite for D3 but I've been in every World of Warcraft beta so far minus the initial release. First beta impressions on D3 were horrendous, but they really brought the game along in 4 months time. Diablo 3 uses a new interface and non-skill based system that removes having to "research" anything on a class, it's pretty much a "pick up and play" experience. They had an open beta weekend back in April and got the wife
  15. I have copper cored bottoms stainless I cook on, and yeah I still have a few non-stick pans in the cabinet as well. Main problem I have with the cored bottoms is the pans/pots take FOREVER to heat up, but when they do... Then once you turn off the heat the food will tend to cook for another 5 to 7 minutes if left in the pots/pans. With certain dishes I have to take the pot/pan to the sink and hit the bottoms with cold water, yeah I know.. but sometimes it has to be done when I cannot plate or put the food into a serving container right away. BTW, I use olive oil in lots of my stainles
  16. Blizzard Entertainments Diablo 3 goes live tonight at 12:01 PST, which is late thirty here on the right coast. So I know what I'm doing at 8am in the morning. Any gamers left on this forum planning on playing? PM me your battletag if interested in some dungeon crawling with locals this week during sensible hours. I was in the closed beta since December and TBH they really stepped up the game from the initial beta release to it's final.
  17. I haven't tried that yet, I figured it'd break the laws of entropy at worst or at least result in a baby.
  18. Apparently not drunk enough, which is being rectified as we speak.
  19. Were the cards used to purchase online at all? And for me, I just monitor our accounts, I figure it's going to happen at some point and to stay on top of all my transactions. I've caught it once, in action, on my wifes account, as they were trying to make the purchases. Got on the phone with a bank rep and she was on the computer relaying back to me the purchase attempts as they were taking place in a high dollar electronics store. But if they were actual in store purchases they may have "spoofed" your cards and made "dupes" of them by using blank cards. But more often it's employees
  20. I'm thinking about pitching a TV Show called "Who wants a TV Show" about people pitching reality TV shows... Also know someone in Paulding that was on Jerry Springer years back, him and his wife said they got flown out to do the show, were handed "general scripts" to play along to, stayed in a 4-star hotel overnight, shot the show the next morning, was limo'd to the airport, and on their way back to Atlanta before 2pm PST.
  21. I went and detailed my momma's car today, cos I'm poor, and also.. I'm fat.. so it's one of those gifts that goes both ways.
  22. A guy walks into a grocery store and asks for the location of the Crunchy Crotch margarine and Tooter Fish in Water, realizes what he says from the stares of the employees, and promptly leaves the store. This ever happen to you or is it just me?
  23. Sam's (the Walton one) sells a 2 pack of them this time of year for $20-30 depending on size.
  24. That's okay DirecTV tells you they'll send out a guy to pick up the equipment... Then they never show up.
