NUMBER OF US NEWBORNS WITH DRUG WITHDRAWAL TRIPLES.....
Riptides replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Being more serious, it would be interesting to see these numbers cross-referenced with the rise in poverty in this nation from "The Great Recession". And in my cynical mood tonight, my fix would be legalize everything, and let Darwin sort it out. Along with: In the future if you want a baby, best to save up the money to reverse the mandatory procedure you had at a younger age. Because only those that can afford it should be allowed to have babies. -

Last few books I read go something like this: Stephen King has a new book out that ties in with the Gunslinger series, Wind Through the Keyhole. If you don't mind a story about a story within a story, it really doesn't add anything to the series since it's a shoe-horned-inbetween-two-novels-quel. I thought it was okay. Joe Hill (SK's kid) has a couple of books out, reads like he got a good bit of help from his dad, they weren't too bad, not great, but not bad. Burned through both novels and his short story collection 2 weekends ago. They're less horror and more paranormal. Paolo

Somebody's kid kept telling me about one of their friends that could do tricks on their bike and that kid was so "sick", and I finally had to ask if we needed to get a get well soon card. Both of us were left thoroughly confused after that conversation.

Federal Guidelines for road safety, not law. If little Jr. Sumbetch goes flying off the road and he hits a nice pretty brick or steel mailbox that doesn't give way, then the owner can be held liable for injuries. We have a triple mail box that is on steel supports with steel baffles on both sides, victims of mailbox bashings. We had to put a break away in the bottom of the steel poles at the ground at the request of the county because of where our driveway sits. About once a year we get a teenager who's car goes ass over teakettle and through the end of our driveway, and

Having a mailbox that is built so solid it cannot give way if hit by a vehicle makes you liable for any injuries incurred. Been cases about it before. Here's federal mailbox guidelines. Note these are only guidelines, but not following these can make you liable in a civil court. Oh and one more gem...

Buckin' Ears. Lst. Mtn. and Macland Kroger here, and I shuck my corn before I buy it, no bugs. I'm generally gunshy at purchasing any corn that is in it's husk and so cheap, I know wallyworld has had some pure crap corn in the past in the husks. I mean some straight up, wrapped in tinfoil on the grill slathered in butter corn that ends up going in the garbage. But just always an irritant to have those sharp ends of corn cut thru the produce bags, and the carry out bags, double bagged, and my ass is chasing a corn across the parking lot.

Fresh corn why must thou poke holes in my Kroger bags and go rolling across the parking lot?

Dang Sub's you're one fart smeller. Yup, sector errors can be one way it stays on the drive, hence the step of zeroing out the drive in another machine using a program that ignores the errors and writing outside the allocation spaces on the drive, zeroing out can also toast a drive fairly quickly tho because it's going to put it through a major stress test of writing and erasing crap data to the drive several times over. The steps in the FAQ are pretty comprehensive in determining what type of infection and how nasty it is, but at this point if you want to go through those steps that's totally -

Also should note that there are rootkits then there are rootkits. A REAL DEAL rootkit will be near impossible to get rid of as it will write itself on a portion of your HDD that windows won't be able to touch and it will reinstall itself at will each time you put Windows back on the drive. This often requires wiping the drive, repartitioning it, and putting it into another machine and zeroing out the drive multiple times, then repartitioning and hoping it's fixed. But real deal rootkits are very rare in the wild. Often what virus scanners report as a rootkit has a signature of a rootkit but op -

You can follow the steps exactly as listed in the faq I linked here, except for Step 6 (posting the logs on the forum these steps are from), just save them. The logs will help in letting an expert see what is infected, when, and determine if a cleanup can be done. If you save and forward the logs to me I can look over them. http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13616 -
Very very interesting, now I understand the steampunk avatar. Wife and I still NEED to go by there, so... maybe we'll get a book signed.

I don't know if this is either here or there but, Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" is actually more a parable, it's a story written to his young son and the world he describes is not one to be taken literally but figuratively in how he see's that the world has changed since he was a youth. His feeling is that young people coming into the world today (as adults) have mixed (or just lack) concepts of right or wrong, hence the repeated theme of "trying to keep the fire alive" inside you for goodness and humanity. He wrote the book and ended it the way he did because him in his 70's and his son just h

Thanks for the replies. I'm supposed to take her to the store tomorrow so we'll be looking at all the suggested stuffs above. I don't mind doing the weeding for her but after last year I'll make sure it's not as big a problem this year. But just want her to be able to "tend" to her garden without it upsetting her she can't do as much for very long. Figure once I get it rolling, her going out and picking what she wants without the worry of watering will reduce the burden on her.

Nope, it's pretty much a dirty magazine sans pictures except those you make in your head.
