Will Mike Vick ever be a starting QB again?
Christine0402 replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't think that he can ever repay his debt to society. He is a disgusting human being, IMHO. I wish he never played football again. I'm an animal lover. -
They relocated from the Crossroads Kroger shopping center and then from somewhere else, I think. I never tasted their cakes but I heard good things about them.

If the babies are the same gender and close in age, I would not host another shower. People who want to give gifts will give gifts, no matter if there is a shower or not. I would probably give/send diapers, receiving blankets, or other small items. I would host another shower only if the baby was a different gender or the babies are several years apart. It is wrong of her to "expect" a shower and not to send thank you notes. She is likely not to get anything from me if she didn't send a thank you. And contrary to what my cousin-in-law thinks, a Facebook message is NOT acceptable.

Is "major grocery store" a good place to work?

I worked at Publix as a second job when I was in my mid-twenties (almost 15 years ago). I liked working there but it was hard work. I was a cashier. My hands would be filthy from touching money, food, and newspapers all day. And my back would kill me from having to lift heavy boxes of kitty litter, beer, laundry detergent, soda, and the like. (It always seemed like the big, muscular guys would never help me move/lift those things - and I was really tiny at the time!) You get a break when they tell you that you get a break, even if it means only two hours into your shift. I was used to going wh -
And what you found?

Thank you all very much for your opinions! Maybe I should just suck it up and make a list of a few items to give them. We'll be needing a new frying pan soon - I guess I could have told them that. I just feel silly asking for something that I can go get myself. But she said that she does enjoy shopping for us. I certainly don't want to insult anyone. I just always feel so awkward when the holiday shopping season comes around.

My husband and I live pretty simply. We don't "need" a lot of "stuff". We are low maintenance. I am not a shopper (just for bargains). If either one of us needs something (clothes, food, small items under a reasonable pre-determined dollar amount) we just go out and buy it. Always shop around and always on sale. If it is over a certain dollar amount (tires for the car, home purchase, big ticket item) we talk about it, plan, and then go buy or do without. We support ourselves, don't need to borrow money from friends or family, and we consider ourselves very fortunate. Family is very important t

Accident with a fatality in Hiram....
Christine0402 replied to UnknownComic's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My DH is a good driver and always pays attention, but he drives much too aggressively. I am scared to death to drive in the car with him half the time. I have actually opened the car door while the car is moving to get him to slow down. I've also gotten out of the car at a stop light and called someone to come pick me up. He has gotten much better lately, but it still scares me. Nothing is worth risking your life to get somewhere 5 minutes faster. Please put down your phone, your coffee, your newspaper, and whatever else you are distracted with. Just slow down and drive. -
How nice! I'm always afraid that if I offer my help that someone will think that I am trying to mug them. I'll have to remember that some people really do appreciate a kind gesture.

Prayers for their family and friends. Any time is a horrible time to lose someone, but especially right before Christmas. I am so sorry for their loss. -
My niece in her footie pajamas, holding her Kitty, on her way to take a train ride to the "North Pole" to see Santa. Precious.

NY doesn't top the list? I'm from there, so I know.

Do you tip your garbage man..........................
Christine0402 replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am extra nice to my UPS guy just because I have 3 relatives who work for UPS and I know what they go through behind the scenes. My driveway is short, my packages are never heavy, and my street is easy to maneuver so it's not a huge deal for my driver to deliver to my house. But my BIL works Franklin Road. He's had to deal with some crazy stuff there. Enough said. He also fills in for other drivers a lot and he often has to carry packages up steep driveways, wait on people, etc. THOSE people should tip him! -

No, I do not. They get paid to do their job and don't deal directly with people so I do not feel that it is necessary. Plus, the mail is a government service. I have a stepbrother who works for UPS in NY and he makes $2-3K in tips every year. Crazy. I have a BIL who works for UPS in Roswell/Marietta and he hardly makes any tips, I guess because he has mostly residential customers instead of commercial customers. My BIL works really, really hard and puts in a lot of hours. Most nights in December he doesn't even get home in time to see his toddler daughter before she goes to sleep. So if y -
He won last year, for whatever reason! They can't give it to the same person two years in a row!

So very sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.

That makes me want to vomit. I would have had to say something to her. NASTY.

I really think that it depends on the specific location. I use a different CVS and they are awesome. One of the pharmacists at the one I use is fantastic. They are always busy and sometimes there is a wait, but I don't mind because I know they are working hard and definitely have a hustle in their bustle. I went inside one time because I knew I was going to have a problem with one of my Rx's (not their fault) and I was amazed at all the things they were doing at ONE time: answering questions, calling insurance, filling Rx's, answering multiple phone lines, ringing people up, handling a backed

Yes, there was a situation where someone claimed that there was a bomb. However, as you may have suspected and as we all had hoped, it turned out to be a hoax.

Whoaaaaa... Seriously? You are *incredibly* rude. Starr & Dru is allowed to have an opinion just like everyone else. Who died and made you boss?
