  1. Great post! Those few highlighted words are what draws the line between a good parent and a great parent. Instead of whining with the 'it's not fair' attitude, you are encouraging your son and helping in any way you can to insure his success. And kudos to your son, because even with the difficulties that Aspergers brings, he is working his behind off as well to MEET THE REQUIREMENTS in order to graduate and WALK across a stage that he DESERVES to WALK across. GOOD FOR YOU BOTH! :clapping: And good luck to your son!
  2. I swear we are the same person!! Great post!!! I just got back home from being at the hospital with MIL since 3:00 this afternoon. No complaints here. Not a great day for me, but a much worse one for her.
  3. It seems a little short sighted to me to let a paying renter, with a successful business leave because you go up too much on the rent. I can't imagine that he is going to have new tenants beating down the door any time soon. I'm afraid hind sight may be 20/20 after a few months with no rental income coming in.
  4. I don't mean to sound harsh, but in my world, charity begins at home. And by 'home' I mean the USA. There are too many people right on these very shores that need any help they can get and that is where my money will always go.
  5. Hubby HATES the words 'no problem', if he says 'thank you' the response he wants to hear is 'you're welcome'. He will even comment and say thank you again to the very few who actually say 'you're welcome'. I prefer 'you're welcome', but any response these days is appreciated.
  6. OOOOOHHH Y-E-S!!!!!!!!!!! And Mark Harmon!
  7. Honors student or not, this test is a requirement of graduation......if you don't pass, you don't graduate. These kids and parents are aware of this LONG before they come down to the wire and end up not being able to 'walk'. Maybe, instead of whining and calling the news media, these parents need to be encouraging and helping their kids pass this test. Whats next? 'Oh, little Johnny can't pass algebra, but he's really good at everything else, he should be able to graduate anyway'. Where will it end? This attitude of 'my child should be the exception' that so many parents have is ex
  8. And in Dallas, they came to our house yesterday in New Hope.
  9. Mr. Dis on here has always gotten rave reviews.
  10. All true!! :good: And pretty sad!
  11. I swear......you're the best!!!!! :clapping:
  12. You're right and that it is coming to that already is pretty pathetic.
  13. That is a mouth full right there AND right on the mark!!!!! :clapping:
  14. The V-E-R-Y BEST post on Pcom in a looong time! Since when are a 28 and 29 year old considered 'kids'? :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:You and me both!
  15. Hey SS, I want the glasses with the frameless bottoms, with GT in the middle.
  16. One of them had on 'antlers'. It seemed to be a light brown color, with two horn thingies sticking straight up off of the front of it. It looked like they were growing out of her head.......not flattering! Thats the crazy blue hat I was talking about!!!! Did she really think that looked great as she was walking past the last mirror she looked in?
  17. What were those long pokey things hanging off of it? These people have money and stylists and thats what they came up with? I sometimes think that stylists make you look goofy on purpose because these stars trust them so much and then they sit back and laugh.
  18. OMG.....I know!!! 2 billion people are likely to see you and thats the hat you choose for a royal wedding? R-E-A-L-L-Y?! I did see some beautiful ones though. I liked the ones that had feathery things that blew around in the wind. To me a hat goes directly on your head, not above your left eyeball covering your eyebrow.
  19. If you enjoyed either and had the time to watch, is it really a waste of time? I don't think so.
