  1. Free therapy really is helpful! But don't you hate knowing and realizing that you may overreact just because it's her? I know I do because I always want to be right and maybe.........just maybe.........I'm not where she is concerned. YUK!!!
  2. Did your Hubby forget to tell you because he thought it was no big deal or did he keep it a secret? Those are two very different things.
  3. I'm glad it's not just me then! They are ALWAYS in touch with me, but it the no phone service and then the wreck that put me in a tailspin. I envisioned the house being flattened and them not being able to get me. Whacko!!!!
  4. HEY!!! Where'd you get that picture of me?!?!?!?!
  5. Just a question........if it had been anyone but your MIL would you have had a problem with it? Believe me, I feel your pain, my MIL is a master manipulator and there is almost nothing she can do, even if it is nice, that doesn't turn me into a sour puss pretty quick and I know that about myself. She could probably give me a million dollars and it would make me mad for some reason. It's just dealing with her for so long, I have a chip the the size of Stone Mountain on my shoulder that needs to go away. Don't let this ruin your trip and as another poster said, pick your battles. Maybe sh
  6. Yes, it was necessary and your MIL did the right thing. We have never left our minor kids with ANYONE without that same document. All you have to do is write a note saying who has permission to authorize medical treatment if the parents aren't available and have it notorized.(sp) I'd much rather be prepared in case there was an emergency instead of wasting what may be precious time trying to get consent.
  7. Yep, about 95,000 of those are in metro Atlanta. Hubby got a call this morning as he was getting ready for work telling him to bring a bag because he may have to stay until the lights are back on. I'm showing Hubby this post as soon as he gets home, he's going to to LOVE and APPRECIATE the fact that you said 'power pole' and not 'telephone pole'. That drives him crazy!!!
  8. We went to my oldest daughters house for dinner last night, Hubby, 3rd grader, me and 911 daughter. We ate and 3 of us left about 8:30 and 911 daughter said she'd be home by 10:00 because she wanted to beat the weather and she actually believed the weather man when he said it would come in between 10:30 and 11:00. Well, she called at 10:15 and it sounded like a war in the background saying that she was caught and was going to stay until the weather let up a little. I hadn't heard anything by 11:20, tried to call her and it went straight to voice mail. Called other daughter and her
  9. I can't tell you how many times I've been on my hands and knees in a restaurant cleaning up after my kids and grandkids, even at a kiddy place like McDonalds. My daughter does the same thing now that shes a mom too. I don't know what parents are thinking half the time, I just know what I'm thinking when they let their kids act like monkeys and then don't clean up after them.
  10. I got a card in the mail today for curb side pick up for $9.99 per month for Waste Industries.
  11. We use Waste Industries as well and I've never had a more reliable pick up service. They are Commerce Members on here too.
  12. EXACTLY! How about the 'mothers' who refuse medical care and their child dies from a condition that could be treated? 'Nope, I'm just going to pray over little Johnny and if he dies, so be it, God wanted him'. Thats a load if I ever heard one!!!! That proves that a 'mother' or 'parent' doesn't always have the mind set to do the right thing. Especially when that mother fires a gun at officers in her home, that is questionable behavior in itself.
  13. Thank you! :clapping: Great post!
  14. When our girls were little, we went to visit Hubbys brother and family in North Carolina and we went to a nice restaurant for dinner. We had 4 little girls from 2 to 8 years old. By the time we had finished dinner we had had 2 different older couples come to our table and commend us on the behavior of our children. One even offered to pay for our meal. This is the reason I have a problem with adults only or family seating. My girls weren't heathens and 3rd certainly isn't either and I don't think he should be punished for some other kids bad behavior.
  15. You're exactly right. I was run off the road, followed the guy home, got his tag number and address and the deputy that came to the house said that unless they were witnesses to the 'incident' there was nothing they could do.
  16. Yes, but it was a few years ago and as far as the area goes, it hasn't changed much. We were by there last week and I would certainly go there.
  17. SPORTS SOURCE is a notary and I'm sure she'd be glad to do it if shes at home.
  18. Us too. I've had all three of my kids see how rotten kids can be and actually comment on it. 3rd grader said at IHOP, 'Boy, that kid needs a spanking'. How bad must that kid have been acting to have another 8 year old notice? Pretty darn baaaaaad!!!
  19. I taught my children that very thing from day one. I told them that if they EVER acted out in public, I'd be acting bad as soon as we got home. They believed me. My oldest daughter pitched ONE fit in public when she was about 18 months old, I took her out of the buggy, left it sitting with my stuff in it, popped her on the leg and took her home. Never happened again. I can't recall my youngest daughter or 3rd grader ever acting up in public. So, I take issue with the idea of a 'family section'. I don't want to sit with a bunch of horrible kids and have dinner while my child is being good,
  20. Merchants Exchange is near Merchants Walk in Marietta on Roswell rd., and it's a fine place. No worries there.
  21. The only place I can find cinnamon is at Ingles, the brand is Bigelows.
  22. I hate coffee, but love hot tea and my favorite is cinnamon.
