  1. I don't know Sam, or really many other folks in the county, but I would believe that statement. Good EMS is expensive. It is kind of the red-headed step child of the emergency services. Everyone expects it, but nobody wans to pay for it.
  2. Your post likely has some misinformation. They are not going to deny you service for an emergency call. If you are talking about a non-emergency, routine transport, they might want some sort of payment up front. Which county in SC? Probably not a good comparison to Paulding. Kind of like me saying the city of New Yorks budget for EMS is 'x'. Again, like most services, you get what you pay for. Most folks don't want to pay for much....until it is their time of need of course.
  3. The Fire Department (or at least the county) should be running EMS. You likely would not want a contracted police force or fire department so why would you farm out EMS? Sometimes you get what you pay for. I will say as far as a subsidy, it is really hard to make money in EMS alone, so you have to subsidize any EMS service.
  4. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, and have not read the whole thread, but where is that right defined? (<---- Serious Question) I've always felt that if I didn't like my employer (or something they were doing) it was my option to leave and go find another job (and I have), otherwise I should do the job they are paying me to do. I'm a stay at home dad, by choice, and it by far is the toughest job I've ever had - and I get no voice or pay. If I can put up with 3 girls, someone should be able to dig a damn ditch or bolt a fender on a car without a 'voice'.
  5. So basically you have no clue what you are talking about.
  6. So what do you think they do with their cars when they are on a call for service? Unload all the crap and bring it in with them?
  7. I was a little skeptical too when I read the post about it, but with a little research, it looks legit. The are accredited by SACS. http://news.yahoo.co...-133217862.html I agree and would go the GED route myself if I were in that boat.
  8. I was under the impression that station was staffed with 2 paid firefighters, 24 hours a day, like the other stations. I could be wrong though. I don't think Paulding County actively recruits volunteers for the fire department anymore, but again, I could be wrong. Kind of unfortunate. Many departments have seen success from a combination (paid/career) department; it just has to be run effectively for it to work.
  9. Did you mean 'nasty mechanic' or 'master mechanic'? I'm just kidding, but couldn't resist. Nitro - I still think you are right with your assessment.

    Dinner?

Sounds like the name of a porno.
  11. Sounds like someone is a little jealous.
  12. Sirens should be saved for the real deal so folks will pay attention when they are set off.
  13. Coming down really hard in north paulding. Lots of wind also.
  14. I think it was arrogance on his part and perhaps someone had a bone to pick with him in the store side. Something doesn't add up. I'd like to know Kroger's side of the story. I do like his show though.
  15. former member is right. U might get lucky and they give u tussionex. Tussionex = no more pain
  16. Looks fun. Might have to check it out. Reminds me of a place in Richmond called Pony Pasture.
  17. I went in that place several years ago and the health score was really bad. Their inspection at the beginning of this month was not any better. Looks like they were reinspected this month and did show improvement. Either way, I don't go their. The link to the actual report is below. Fun reading material. 18. Day old refrigerated rice seems help. I'll have to try gomasio. Never used it.
  19. They do offer a copper core series. I have the all stainless.
  20. Water usually does not stick from my experience. I only mentioned it because I had the same issue for a long time. Then I actually read the instructions from All-Clad and realized I was cooking at way too high of a temp. Once I followed their guidlines it worked great.
  21. Glenn, Lots of good options out there, a lot just depends on how much you have/want to spend. For a basic setup you could use an inexpensive USB webcam type device and purchase inexpensive software that will take the feed from the camera and detect motion and record, which will save you a lot of space and you could likely do for under $50 per setup. Down side is it will not do well at night if the area is dark. If you wanted something that worked well at night, and was not dependent on your PC, you could go with a 'Trail Camera' or a flood light style. Both are nice because they
  22. Probably cooking at too high of a temp. I've got all-clad it is designed to cook at a low temp.
  23. You are correct, the actual code is the best place. Unfortunately code is not always written in a manner that is easy to understand, and short of hiring an attorney, I would would much rather get information from a georgia specific conceal carry organization than a site like paulding.com. My belief is if someone is taking on the responsiblity of carrying a firearm they should at least understand the basics without having to come on a site like this. Would you go to a Doctor that posted on this website asking for information regarding how to renew their license? Probably not. Makes t
