I had to watch the clip when I saw "Lighten up Francis".

I was more suggesting the parts rather than the fluid change. JD did offer a K66 upgrade, but to get one now is very expensive. Just not worth it.

Very good advice. I've heard DBAN software is good for wiping a drive. Free to download. Having a friend with access to a high end degaussing machine is good too.

That is great info! I'm going to love that.

Subby's, this may nor may not help you as I'm not sure what your issue with the K46 trans is, but thought I would pass along the info (not my write up). Let me know if you need a hand and I'll help you out the best I can. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem I had with the tractor was the loss of power to get up even the smallest of inclines after about a half hour of mowing and I knew the tranny was going south on me. A buddy of mine and I dropped the transmission and changed fluid, but to my disappointment

Subby's - I think someone gave you some bad info about the L130. Hopefully you did not pay much for it or can get your money back. In good shape with low hours and good condition that model is worth $1,200 tops (you can buy them all day long for that price), with a rear bagger. It is a slight step above the basic entry level Deere, but is the type sold at Home Depot/Lowes (they now sell the D130). I believe this mower new would have been around $2,400 (could be a little more). The $8,000 and $5,000 numbers would be for a X (400,500,700) series, depending on the year and options, etc. Thi

Good words of advice!

You are certainly welcome. It was good to meet you too. I'm sure it will get much more use with you than it ever did with me.

Yes. I'm right near the Pettit Preserve off 61 at the Paulding/Bartow line. I've been told there was a guy that lived right at the entrance of the preserve that was a preacher that kept rattlesnakes, and when the house was foreclosed on, he left all of the snakes (that is when we started seeing them). I'm sure we see a bunch just because they live around here, but I've wondered if we see so many because of the guy that used to keep them. I don't know how long they live and how far they migrate. That tortise is huge!

I wondered about that 'copperhead'. It was an older lady that killed it and send the pic. I looked at it for a while trying to figure out what it was. I've heard they are good to eat. I asked him if he grilled it, he said he did not, just made the belt. We see some really good sized ones out here, and fairly often.

I don't at all, and certainly don't want to sound like The Postman. Having an elected Coroner is just a more traditional/historical approach. A decentralized Medical Examiner system would probably work better for Georgia. Lots of info online comparing the two types of systems and examples of states that use the different types. There are pros and cons to each.

I sure hope this one does not invite any friends over.

Funny you replied. When I saw the snake, I thought to myself, I sure could use thedeerslayer's help right now. Here are some recent kills in the neighborhood. I wasn't able to find the picture of the biggest, but it was a rattlesnake as long as a tailgate is wide on a full size chevy. This rattlesnake was found on a concrete walkway, and the copperheads were found right next to the houses. The rattlesnake is now a belt I believe. Good to know about how the pit viper locate their prey. I read more about it, really cool stuff. Still want the one in my garage gone though (alive

I will. Seems like something Ace Hardware would sell. They are easy enough to make, except the attracting the snake part. These traps have 'snake attract dots' in them; I guess some sort of mouse scent. Short of putting a live mouse in a cage in the snake trap I'm not sure what else I could use.

I don't want to end up trapping the snake in the garage and I've got a couple of puppies and they might somehow get in to them when we take them outside. I believe mothballs and dogs don't mix well. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Looking for something like this. Anyone know where it can be purchased around here? I know I can get it online, but was hoping to find one tomorrow. Saw a snake enter the garage but could not find it and never saw it leave. I've read these traps are fairly effective.

The coroner system is antiquated. Unnecessary middle man. But we are in Georgia, so really should not surprise me that we still have them.

Sorry about that.

Euharlee is having a BBQ event and a car show as well this Saturday. euharlee.com

oovoo works well also. They offer a mobile and desktop version.

Could have been bump firing a semiautomatic rifle, which sounds like a full automatic rifle. Lots of fun if you've never tried it. Empties the entire 30 round clip in a just a couple seconds.

Mrs G, I've got a pole saw you can have. I tried to get rid of it at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago but it didn't sell. It was given to me several years ago and I've got no use for it. If you want it, it is yours. Sorry to hear about the theft and vandalism. That really sucks. PM me if you want the saw.

Great grilling link. Good info about the BBQ competition too. Not far from me at all; should be a good time.
