6th grade? Really? I walked over a mile home from school in 6th grade.

You still got that leather bra???? I'm on my way!

Yea, I figured. My Ohio guy is a master at sarcasm.

Quit being so sensitive. You made a mistake. If anyone is actually "offended" by that, it is their problem, not yours. And I think the poster who said he was offended was probably kidding. My husband is from Akron OH. Ohio guys are not the sensitive-get their feeling hurt type.

You are right! I didn't hear the interview. And I've been in situations where the media took one phrase and totally skewed what I had said. You really have to be on to them and so careful in wording. I would hate to live with that pressure every day of my life.

Yea but..............does that really mean she doesn't want to be asked about anything outside of herself? She could have responded that she is happy for the couple....excited for the addition to the family............as happy as the rest of the citizens to share the experience. But no.....if it's not about her, don't ask. Not very diplomatic.

On the other hand...............men don't like to say "I don't know". Even when they don't. Admitting you are lost and "don't know" can be threatening........but try it. We women know you don't know anyway. Just admit it and save us all some time.

I love my kids and admit, I have encouraged college for them. They both have the aptitude and are in good fields for their talents and interests. BUT I have had many discussions with them and their friends. Go to college.........don't go to college. If you are going to spend money, ask yourself.........am I going to learn a skill that others will pay me to do for them? If not, I hope you have a good inheritance. We are one generation off the farm. Jobs and income are essential...if I am going to "invest" in an education, I darn sure better be able to make money from it. Learning just t

I cook spaghetti squash often. Beware. I have had them go bad sitting on the counter in less than a week. So ..............don't take it for granted that they all last that long. If you aren't going to cook it in a few days, put it in the refrigerator. They are very good with just butter, salt and pepper.

I had a REAL bad case of poison ivy back last month. Have to get TWO shots in my bum.......I didn't cry so I went and got me a LARGE cone at the DQ for my bravery. First DQ cone I've had in a long time. It was good!

Guess I lived in West Texas too long. I never get tired of the rain. I love it. Couldn't hardly grow a garden in the hot parched dirt we had in Abilene.......had to water every day. I remember summers where the temp was 100 or higher for 30 days straight. A cool front was a high of 98. I even admit, I like the thunderstorms.

Dinner Thread - So many left overs we can't decide what to eat
bluebonnet replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I understand completely. Running a restaurant would have to be one of the hardest jobs out there. People, a petition would mean nothing to me. Show Surepip the money! I have friends who have an organic farm here in Paulding. They operate it as a co-operative. People pay a set fee up front (several hundred dollars) and get a basket full of whatever vegetables/fruits are available each week. Without some kind of financial commitment up front, there is little chance Surepip's desired way of operating a restaurant would survive. Even with the Dinner Club, I am surprised he can commit witho -
I like the Greek salad at Jim n Nicks. I get the dinner size and you can add your choice of meats. Always fresh and good. Chick-fila had great Southwest salad, but they discontinued it. Bummer. I miss it.

I read the entire thing too. While I do think there is a double standard and all the hoopla about something said years ago made the reactions of Deen's sponsors seem ultra sensitive, after reading this, it is easier to understand their desire to separate. I noticed the worst of the allegations are against "Bubba", yet Deen has 51% ownership of his restaurant. She appears to have done little to correct the situation. I also noticed most allegations state that there was at least one other person around as a witness....usually with that witness's name stated. That there is corroboration will

Atlanta Radio Hosts Make Fun of Saints Player with ALS
bluebonnet replied to TJB's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am so very sorry to hear this about your husband! My mother died from ALS in 2001. She was only 61 years old. Watching her struggle was one of the most devastating things I've ever had to see. My prayers for you and your family. -
Publix to take over housing authority property at 61/278
bluebonnet replied to JessicaHouston's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hmmmm...........I am also a regular Publix shopper. Maybe whether it is expensive depends on what you buy. I do buy beef from a local ...a side at a time. And I buy produce at the local farmer's market when I can. I tend to be the kind who keeps my kitchen well stocked, so I seldom have to buy anything immediately. That gives me the freedom to stock up when items do go on sale. I love the deli...spend a fortune on Boar's Head.....love the Publix produce....love the cleanliness and service. I have felt like I was in a zoo the last times I visited WM and Kroger. BUT.....I and my hus -
Two shots in my bum today...............after mutiple shots and meds for an evil poision ivy attack two weeks ago. I even treated myself to a DQ ice cream cone after the two butt shots/ Think I'm gonna die from poisoin ivy and the treatment. I swear to God.....I haven't slept more than five hours total the past seven days due to the cortisone shots, prednisone pills and creams I'm on. I don't do drugs.........I feel like dying. Any suggestions? Ivy connection on Memorial Day. It swept all over my arms, legs and body. Thank God nothing on my face. But huge open soars, blisters and spre

The penalties for not filing would be dependent on how much is owed and for how long. I had a couple come to my office this past year that had not filed in twenty years. They owed some money back then and couldn't pay...so they didn't file. Then the next year rolled around and they didn't know what to do....so they didn't file....and so on. After looking at their records, they have probably LOST $20,000 in refunds over the years. They have worked and had taxes withheld and most of the past 20 years would have been due a refund. Unfortunately, the IRS won't let you go back more than thre

I prefer Advantix. I think you have to get it from the vet, but it is the absolute best for ticks.....and controls fleas too.

According to the map, it is across from the Publix at Cobb Parkway & Cedarcrest.

Would this be a good policy for Pauldiing County schools as well?
bluebonnet replied to macarose's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Unfortunately, not all admins have the backbone to back the teachers. The kids and parents figure out pretty quick what they can get away with. As far as communicating with the parents, while I agree with you that it needs to be done and records kept...........it shouldn't be this way for high school students! I am sorry, but by this age, these people should be responsible enough that mommy shouldn't have to be told every assignment and every time a kid forgot to bring his work to class. That's why we have the extension of "childhood" into the twenties now. My generation has done an incre
