We have gas and the water is extremely hot.

Don't remember what we have but name brand and probably one of the "upper end" if there is such a thing. My husband goes big with cars, trucks, appliances, etc. What I like: endless supply of hot water and lower gas bills. The only disadvantage: when you lose power....you lose hot water! Instantly! There is no gradual cooling because there is no 40 gallon tank holding hot water. I was in the middle of shampooing my hair when we lost power one day. About had a heart attack when the cold water hit so fast. I would definitely buy again.

Watching this forum yesterday was telling...........

While in principle, I agree with you, the real failure was accurate forecasting...although even that is reliance on others. While sounding critical of the meteorologists, it is actually a back-handed compliment. They are usually so accurate, we don't question the forecasts. Definitely a HUGE mess due to the timing of the storm moving into such a densely populated area. Some of us actually ended up spending the night at the office. Better than on the road and needing someone to "rescue" me. -

Very bad. He needs to find someplace to stay. Do you have any friends close to where he is at?

LR, this is definitely a mess, but in all fairness, all the forecasts I saw generally showed the snow and bad weather south of us. Now......I didn't check it this morning and if I was responsible for closing schools, I would have definitely been watching all night, but it really did look like it was going south from what I saw earlier. What a mess! My son left SPSU about three hours ago and I don't know where he is. He texted me about an hour ago and was on Macland somewhere in Dallas. I had told him to avoid 278/Carruth, so he was trying to get home

Miss you too. Is your daughter down there yet?

We become strong......not by the easy things in life, but by the trials that we survive. Sometimes we are stronger than we want to be. Another person in our office recently commented that I never get worked up about anything.....well, you know the saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff." It really is all "small stuff".

Good riddance

The day my 23 year old daughter was shot and killed in 2005. People tell me I am fearless. I have already faced my worst fear. I lost one of my children. NOTHING else fazes me.

Did you read the link? There are alternatives that may be much more affordable.

Changes to High School Graduation and HOPE

It doesn't really sound like they are going to be "locked in" if they are only required to take two or three classes and can get classes in other fields as electives. I think this is a great opportunity for kids to experiment and possibly weed out career fields. My daughter thought she wanted to be an attorney..........until she worked at a law firm her senior year. She ended up working there several years and gained valuable experience, but knew the actual work the attorneys did was not her thing. It will also give the kids a chance to see what they are good at and what they enjoy. I lik -
I understand your thinking, but agree with the others......give them some practical options. I've told this story on here before......I sent my grandmother a roll of 100 stamps for Christmas back around 1980. She LOVED it! I made it an annual gift. She bragged to every one of my aunts, uncles, cousins. So much so that they teased me about being the favorite grandchild. It was so easy to be practical. Think of things that you know you will need during the year and put those things on the list they ask for. It can be inexpensive items but items you know you will be wanting or needing.

But they seriously need to put a left turn light at that intersection. As in left turn ONLY when the green arrow is on. I have tried to turn left to go to JCP and it is hard to see oncoming traffic if there are bigger vehicles trying to turn left from the opposite side of the road. And there is no left turn light at all if you are trying to turn left onto 278. Whoever controls those lights really needs to make some changes.

I too love my "non-theme" tree. I just put it up today. My daughter, who was killed in 2005 at the age of 23, made numerous ornaments in school. It is so emotional hanging them every year. My youngest was born Dec 28th and the nurses made an ornament with his baby foot prints. I love that one. It is a journey back in time to decorate my tree. It is also tear-filled and draining. But memories are such a gift. If I ever do a themed tree, it will be a second tree.....but I do good to get one up. One of my fantasies, I guess.

I interpreted the comments to suggest that the hotels planned for the area around the complex won't be finished when it opens. They must already have tournaments booked but know there will be a shortage of rooms for the first year....... So I don't see long term potential for money flowing into Paulding........maybe we could place ads offering to rent out our houses! Like everyone did for the Olympics!

I'm sorry but I would have known before I left the restaurant that I did not have my food! They really drove home with Mickey D's and didn't realize they didn't have their food?

I think I remember the password, but I can't find the bat cave!

I just got rid of a stack, but will start saving now for you. I live way out in far SW Paulding, but my office is across from the Hardy dealerships on 120, so I'll bring the papers up there. I'll PM you with details. Love puppies! We've never bred any of our dogs. Most of the dogs we've had have been rescues and even the few we bought as puppies, we had spayed or neutered before anyone got old enough to breed. (Our Guinea Pig adventure was another story! One male named Elvis and three girls............Susie, Sophie & Sadie. Within the first six months, we were giving away baby guin

People who can drive a new car but not pay for a turkey!

After working registration for a very large annual toy/food/clothing Christmas event, I too am jaded. I saw far too many people signing up at multiple locations/times to get double ...even triple gifts and food. I saw families take advantage of the trust and good intentions of this organization by stating they had six, eight ...ten kids, when all I had to do was go back to the previous years' registration and see they had only registered one or two. I don't really judge about the nice car and stuff like that. I know far too many people who had the means to pay for those things until they -

I always take the current day's newspaper and leave it at the dr. office when I'm done reading. I always figured someone else might want to read it. Is that okay? -
