  1. Maybe she didn't look like that 15 years ago. People can change a lot in 15 years.
  2. Just lost my Daddy to lung cancer NYG. Please know that it matters so much to your loved ones!
  3. Oh we would get along great! We be friends in real life. And I wouldn't be caught DEAD in a holiday sweater.
  4. "Old" does have it's priviledges. I think tats and piercings are just......................so unattractive. I just don't get it. I like skin. I totally applaud you who choose this and love it, but I choose skin. I guess at one point it might have been a bit exotic, but now it's an "everyone's doing it" thing. And I'm old enough to not care what you think about what I think about your tats!
  5. Interesting topic. When my oldest was 14, I seriously doubted we would both make it to her 18th birthday. I did not like her at 14! She pushed my buttons daily. But we both grew up and relaxed. My younger children are now 22 & 19. I truly do like them! They are intelligent, funny, compassionate and responsible. The 22 year old was away at college, but graduated last spring and is back home taking some grad courses--and working. The 19 year old is just finishing his freshman year at Southern Poly and is still at home. But that's not a problem. He is a tremendous help around the
  6. I love Kirklands too! But I didn't like shopping at Kirklands at the mall. I always seem to like the BIG items and they are on the second floor. I'm told they would bring stuff down to the car, but I will like shopping in Hiram better anyway. I avoid the mall at all costs. Yea! Any idea when?
  7. I have never accepted a reward. I always say, "Please pay it forward." It does our own souls much more good to give than to receive.
  8. I will PM you my phone number. You can call me tomorrow if you like. This really depends on other income, dependents and deductions you have. But....it's better to take it out now...than owe later. Also, make absolute sure that whoever is distributing the funds codes the distribution as medical. The IRS does not care what you say you spent the money on. There is a little box on the 1099 that you will get next January. If it is coded "1", you will be hit with the 10% penalty. No matter what. Better to make sure they code it right now, than try to fix it next winter.
  9. Taking money out of your 401k is (most of the time) the absolute most expensive option you can make if you are under 59 1/2. Whatever you take out is added to all other income for the year. So......if household income is $100,000 and you pull $50,000 out of the 401k, the amount you pull from your account will be taxed at the highest tax bracket for that income level. Probably 28%-33% range depending on your deductions. THEN you add 10% to whatever rate we talking about. THEN we also add GA tax --4-6%. So you are really looking at close to 45%-48% possiblility. Now ....if you were unempl
  10. Nelson will be 78 years old next month. Leave the man alone......just sayin.
  11. Yes. Surepip, the industry must attempt to educate. There is so much misinformation and the only way to combat is to share truth.
  12. Bahahaha you made me spit my tea out! We could call the husbands Big D and Double D....whatcha think? Going back to Dr B anytime soon? (Sorry for the hijack OP---don't mind us)
  13. The best I ever had from my wedding is an almond flavored punch. It starts with an almond syrup and I think has seven up/Sprite something added. It is addictive! I don't have the recipe handy, but try Googling Almond Punch. It really does taste very sophisticated for a non-alcoholic drink.
  14. Sorry, I have to disagree with the majority. But first a big question.....how old are your kids. If you are busy co-hosting, someone will have to be watching your kids unless they are all old enough to not need supervision. The event is not for kids and I am one of those people who enjoy adult time without the distraction of a bunch of kids. I did not ever attend a wedding or baby shower with my mother....and I never brought my kids to anyone's shower. Take your kids to the Huntsville event....or bring them to the local one for a few minutes (friend's request) and then make arrangeme
  15. It's amazing to me that in less than 20 years, a college education has become an entitlement. Sorry folks...it's not. And TP, the Lottery is a completely voluntary tax. I've bought two $1 tickets in my lifetime. But, I've had three kids benefit from HOPE. My youngest is a freshman now and we will happily be paying a bit more for his tuition at Southern Poly next year. Happily? Yes. I am still thrilled that the state offers any help at all. I haven't jumped on the entitlement band wagon yet.
  16. OOhh! I love spelling Nazi posts. I keep it pent up so as not to get a bullet......don't know why......I've got lots of Mayberries. I've been doing some window shopping on Craigslist. Lots of misunderstanding with the spelling of wrought iron. Seems I have to look for rod iron and rot iron........ People, People, People! If you don't know how to spell it.....you don't need it. Give it to me! I'm in the market for rot rod wrought iron
  17. Hey MillCreek! Just a quick "Good Morning" before I'm off to work. Hav a good week!
  18. And the $2500 for medical could have been her out-of-pocket medical expenses. Likely, her insurance paid most of the cost of any surgeries and doctor bills. But a million for pain & suffering? Just remember, the attorney got a big chunk of that.
  19. Consider yourself bit! I love drama as much as the next person.....it's just most of it is going on in my OFFICE! And because of professional standards......I can't share. But I love you LPPT and will come to one of your party thingys one day. But not this week....Going to Texas...............tejas..............to visit my 72 year old Yosemmite Sam Daddy this weekend. He's a mean old cuss. I walked out on him last time I went to visit. Was walking down the streets of Abilene Texas with my suitcase in one hand rolling along the street and my cell phone in the other ......calling
  20. I actually "get" the chance to sit and read. One of my favorite times is ....believe it or not.....waiting between flights at airports. Absolutely can't clean house, run errands, etc. Just me and a book! But I've always got too much to do while home to be waiting in line at the time of day that school gets out. Heck, I could have the grocery shopping done in 40 minutes! Speaking of.........................gotta get off pcom today. Got way too much to do to be on here........ya'll have fun!
  21. Okay, as one who has spent my adult life trying to lose the booty, this blows me away. Sad.....My link
  22. Thank you MC.. You're a winner in my book.
  23. No. Never waited in a pick up line. Okay. I did once...........and decided you people are not civilized. Never understood the need to sit for 45 minutes to pick up my kids right when the bell rings. Mine had the choice of riding the bus home.........or waiting until after "the line" was gone. They could wait for me instead of me waiting for them.
