OH! And sorry OP for hijacking your post!

Well...when you know about something in particular that a loved one wants, by all means, get it. But, I remember my grandma would get trinkets and powder and junk like that every year from the grandkids. I was in my teens and sent her a roll of 100 stamps and some stationary (back in the day when we actually wrote letters). My sweet grandma bragged on me from then on! I was her favorite! And you can bet, she got stamps every year after that! I really do try to be practical most of the time......wouldn't you just love it if someone secretly paid your phone bill....or electric bill for you

I was going to mention that CASH IS KING but decided not to. With a 19 year old and a 23 year old --both in college--nothing is appreciated more than good old cash. And I remember being a young parent. The holidays were so stressful because there was never enough money to give all the gifts I wanted to give. My precious parents usually gave us some cash. You can't much more practical than that!

Sad, but our hypocrisies are showing. If you are one who goes out shopping on Thanksgiving....or will be at the stores at midnight, you have helped create the demand. Don't go. Without demand, the stores will scale back on the hours. And really.........I'm not trying to be all pure and principled........this one is easy for me. I went to a 5AM sale on Black Friday about 12 or 13 years ago. I swore....NEVER AGAIN! Nothing is worth the zoo I encountered that morning! I don't like the crowds and I don't like shopping anyway. I will do the majority of my shopping in December and hopefu

I wish JS. I don't believe the drinking fountains are broken. Last I was told, the county took a piece out because vandals were jamming stuff in the knob so the water would run continually. There are cameras up, but with all the budget constraints, it becomes more practical (to P & R) to just disable the fountains instead of fighting the vandals. What we need is some citizen justice. But..............the water is on in the big fountain (at least until it gets too cold), so let the pup drink away.

So....Tara Drummond Park has had it's share of vandalism. Over a year ago, some kids broke the fountain.....and several months ago someone stole a plaque. It was the plaque in the Butterfly Garden quoting Glenn Richardson's eulogy of Tara. We received a call this week from Paulding County Parks & Rec. They have repaired the fountain and put it back in the park. AND the guys who stole the plaque have been caught! Seems they decided to try and sell it for scrap metal! The buyer investigated and turned them in to police. Police got the plaque back to Paulding County P & R. THANK YOU Pauld

I just saw something in the news today about the original DeLorean in the BTTF movie being put up for sale. Hmmmm...... -
Not really slower....we just don't make three syllables out of a one syllable word.

Not un-American..................un-Georgian...or un-Southern? I'm a Texas girl and like beef brisket and beef barbeque smoked like back home, BUT if tears my stomach up. I've never figured that out. I can eat anything...I mean anything else. I think I could eat rocks and not get sick, but that stuff kills me. Now the stuff ya'll call BBQ around here? It is pig. It looks funny and tastes funny. That's all.

If you "could" care LESS then you DO care, right?! Grrrr...

Hmmmm.....I don't necessarily think so. I rather enjoy different cultural dialects...in speaking. I can go on and on in my Texas twang and even say ain't once in a while. BUT when writing, I know the difference and don't write exactly how I speak. I think most of us are also quite capable of detecting the difference in typos and slips during rapid posting........and errors from not being educated. It's not a mortal sin, but I do really wish those who don't know when to use SELL and SALE would PU-LEEZ take a few minutes and learn! I don't ever reply to them and refuse to buy what the -
Is there a brand of mop you like a lot?
bluebonnet replied to Gipper Girl Rocks's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I just had the hardwood floors in my house refinished about six months ago. So...they are shiny when I steam them, but you can't use any type of cleaner with it, so if your floors are dull and need refinishing or waxing, they probably won't be shiny with the steamer. -

I have had every mop made. I bought one of those Shark steam cleaner mops a few months ago and love it. It has different temp settings so it can be used on hardwoods or tile, stone, etc. No chemicals.....it only uses water, super heated to clean. -

Ok. Didn't have any idea what a PrevPak was. I think from what everyone is saying, this is one of those times the antibiotics are justified. But I agree with lowrider and others....take a probiotic! You've got to restore the good bacteria in your digestive system or you will be a mess. You probably won't need the Previcid if you take the probiotic. (Previcid=drug / Probiotic=natural) Did you talk to Dr B? -

I don't generally voice my opinion on this stuff, but some of you are mean, nasty, classless and intolerant bullies. I've never watched their show....don't watch much of anything on tv but from what I have seen they have managed to bring up these kids to be much better behaved and balanced than many of us with one, two or three kids. Perhaps the philosophy that we have to be there at all times and meet all of our kids needs has made them disrepectful and far more dependent on us than is natural. And no, I don't know them, necessarily like them, nor would I ever choose that life. I hav

South West corner of the county. I had the power flicker but didn't hear anything.....probably cause I was talking to myself. -
I usually get our a box of bulbs and hang them on my biggest houseplant. Maybe when I have grandkids, I'll get excited about decorating, but my baby will be 20 next month and i figure if I don't get it out, I don't have to put it back up. Eliminate two chores.

Did your parents divorce while you were living at home?

Ha! That's the same deal we have! Almost 25 years of mostly wedded bliss now. It's been a good contract for us too. -
Every time I see this topic, I think it says NUDE trick or treaters.
