They do. Of course, the Feds may want a crack at him too, for his attack on Rep. Giffords. But if the prosecutor indicates that he/she will ask for the death penalty, I'd bet the Feds will allow the state to have the case.

It's on CNN now. -
What I've learned in this thread: Aerosol cooking spray will help keep your satellite dish clear of snow and ice. If you're going to apply aerosol cooking spray to your satellite dish, it's better to have a ONE-story house. I'm still glad I have cable.

Snow - no big deal. Freezing rain - another matter altogether.

Think of it as an electronic patdown. If there is probable cause, I don't have a problem with it.

I was reared in a divided household: my father is a Georgia fan, and my mother roots for Georgia Tech. Neither of them went to those schools, but my father's only sister attended Georgia and my mother grew up in Atlanta, so they felt some connection. I've always wanted both schools to do well, but when they play each other, I cheer for Georgia. I also now cheer for Alabama, since my husband graduated from there. OTOH, I graduated from Kennesaw State University (then Kennesaw College), and I don't even think they *should* have a football program!

92 runs more north/south. I never have understood the complaints about access at the old Publix location, though ... I always just went past the package store, got on Lake Road and went to the light at that intersection. No problemo.

When I was still a driver's license examiner, I suspected parents of doing this all the time. I *know* they didn't follow the parent-taught course that can be found on the DDS website, because of the blank looks I'd get when I asked for it in lieu of the driver's ed certificates. That's why I consider the online classes such a joke - likewise the parent-taught curriculum that exists as an out for those parents who don't believe their kids' lives are worth a few hundred dollars for a REAL driver's ed course. Maybe we'll all be lucky and the little darlings will fail the driving test and

Here's a place to start: http://www.navy.mil/secnav/index.asp You might also consider writing to your Congressperson and our Senators. I happen to agree with you, BTW.

As much as it pains me to say it, Ulysses S. Grant and I have something in common: he was sickened by the sight of blood on his plate and always had his beef cooked dry. Me too. I don't like steak, but my burgers and ground sirloins are always well-done. My husband always orders his steaks (when he gets them) medium-well.

That's a neat idea, especially if she's never flown before.

This law was *long* overdue. Unregistered vehicles are popular among criminals because there's no tag number to be seen and reported. Once the grace period is over (LEOs usually give offenders about a month after a law change so that word on it has time to get around), I hope this will be strictly enforced.

The fantastic book and soon the fantastic movie!

I looked it up on Wikipedia. Any synopsis I posted would probably be criticized for being too simplistic, so I suggest just reading the Wiki entry. -
I have none of the above - I have a self-created vanity plate. And as a State retiree, I'm kinda OK with helping with the budget, which truly *is* in crisis. I know that's not a popular viewpoint, but I really don't care. As for those who say they have no 'frivolous' expenses, I congratulate you on NEVER buying something you *want* as opposed to *need* - you're stronger than I am.
-
Other than the usual dislike of higher fees, I don't get the big deal about an additional $35 per YEAR for a tag. I'll bet everyone here who's giving theirs up pays that much or more for some frivolous something or other, *and* pays for that frivolous something or other more than once a year. Whatever floats your boat, of course ....

 I'll be keeping mine.

Try to see it from the 'dumby's' point-of-view. You were violating the law. A lot of people who break the law are not in the least concerned with other people's right to quiet enjoyment of their homes and property. For all he/she knew, you were going to laugh in their faces - or WORSE. Sometimes a face-to-face encounter is NOT the way to go.

Of course they *could* have updated the Hiram store if they had wanted to. When I worked out in east Cobb, Kroger did *extensive* renovations of their Canton Road store and kept it open the whole time. It was a mess, but they got it done. If the company really wanted to keep that location going, they'd do what they have to to make it happen.
-
Prayers said. I hate those things and consider them death-traps.
-
Have you considered the Hiram Community Center? I don't know if you consider the fee 'reasonable,' but it's a nice facility and that close to the Hiram PD would be a plus, IMO.

New Ag Commissioner, Gary Black, wants to remove

Continuing with the hijack, Gwen Bristow is another excellent writer of historical fiction. Her books can be hard to find, but The Bookworm might have a few of them in her store. -
Crossing my fingers for you!

I agree completely - as long as those depictions include illegal immigrant labor doing the scut work. Does anyone besides me see the irony in that? -
Subby, I would get an appointment with the Consumer Credit Counseling Service right away. They offer counseling for those interested in bankruptcy, and they're almost certainly cheaper than an attorney. There's a possibility that they could negotiate a settlement for you regarding your credit card debt, too. As I understand it, bankruptcy is no longer the 'sweet' deal it was - I think you are still obligated to pay a portion of your debts to your creditors under Chapter 13, and I think Chapter 7 requires a liquidation of your assets except for a certain portion of your equity if you own
