A more-specific subject line might have helped. This isn't about 'you folks in the south [sic],' this is about the actions of ONE MAN who went waaaay too far. Sheesh. 'Never gets out?' Really??? I absolutely believe he should be punished, and if the present punishment for the crime with which he's charged dictates jail time, so be it. But to equate what he did with crimes against people, like rape or murder, seems more than a little extreme.

I don't find much use for beat-boxin' grannies, but I'm not out to get 'em.

I think it's tacky - to me, it trivializes death and mourning. I think roadside 'shrines' are tacky, too. While I can understand, in a way, wanting to see where a loved one died, I *don't* understand how leaving a balloon or a candle or a teddy bear helps makes it better.

Homes burning - Across from Paulding High School
Riograce replied to Sugail's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I looked it up - there *is* an Ivy Trace Lane in Dallas. Maybe both names exist in that subdivision. -
I wish more doctors and midwives used birthing chairs - it seems a much more practical position where you're not fighting gravity as you push.

Am I the only gal on Pcom that doesn't like Valentines day?

I like Valentine's Day just fine - it's my father's birthday. I've always thought that was so cool. -
I agree with MarkDavd and Gray Wolf: paper letters, for whatever reason, DO still get the attention of those in authority. However, the world does NOT revolve around you, broken phone or not.

There have been several threads on here about the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle, and I know that a number of you consider it one of the best places to eat in Georgia. If you haven't been there in a while, it might be time to go back .... Blue Willow Inn open but in financial trouble

Spin off from "Christina Aquilera, Super Bowl Performance"
Riograce replied to BubbaDoo's topic in RECENT TOPICS
First of all, this is a song she should have known since she was a child. Secondly, she's supposed to be a *professional*, which means she rehearses beforehand, even if she's known the song since she was a child. And thirdly, if she hadn't improvised five notes for every one that's actually IN the song, maybe she wouldn't have gotten 'caught up in the moment' and lost her place. -

I agree. Much of the urban yodeling I hear these days has absolutely nothing to do with 'interpretation' and everything to do with ego. Another thing that apparently gone the way of the dodo is dynamics - too many young singers think that loud is good and louder is better. How ironic that in an age where sound enhancing equipment is better than ever, so many singers are screaming like banshees. -
That's my verb of choice, too.

Keep in mind that pregnancy can wreak havoc with your skin, so until your baby is born, I wouldn't try anything radical. Keep your skin clean with simple soap (like Ivory or Aveeno) and water, *drink* lots of water (which you should be doing anyway) and eat sensible, well-balanced meals. The advice about changing washcloths and pillowcases was good too, if you can manage it. Get some tea tree oil and apply it to the worst pimples - it's a natural drying agent. And though I know it's easier said than believed, just keep saying to yourself that this, too, shall pass.

I wonder if you have rosacea - you may want to do some reading and see if it sounds like what you see in the mirror. You might like to try the product I mentioned earlier in this thread - the Carley's products are the only thing that have worked consistently for me over the years, and I'm MUCH older than you. The bars of soap are pretty inexpensive, and the merchant guarantees satisfaction or they refund your money right away. I know that because several years ago they introduced a shampoo into their line - I tried it but didn't like it and wrote to tell them so. Before the day was

We have hired several contractors from this site, but they don't seem to have a single person who does small engine repair: http://www.servicemagic.com/ Might be a great opportunity to get *your* service out there ...! -

I saw it on CNN - looked more like an SUV to me. And if you're not too picky about seatbelts, you can cram eight people into a crew cab .... -
There's the dealbreaker right there. There are parents who can't be bothered to buy paper and pencils for their kids, much less insurance for an electronic device. In a perfect world, I would be all for it - in the REAL world, it's ludicrous.

I have used Carley's Clear and Smooth for *years* and have been completely satisfied. Unlike so many of the heavily advertised products, you get large bars of soap and 16-ounce bottles that last a long time, so it's far more economical in the long run. On the rare occasions I feel a bump coming on, I apply a little tea tree oil - usually one application a day for a couple of days are enough.
