Your intentions are admirable, but where does this young man's *father* stand on your plans?

I'm out of positives for the day so to both of these posts.

Unless your kids are seeing the dentist more than twice a year, I don't know why they'd have to miss school. Between summer and all the breaks they get, it seems to me that it would be pretty easy to make dental appointments during those times. IMO, it's much more important to like and trust one's doctor/dentist than be able to get to his/her office fast.

Their story was on WSB's 6 o'clock news - here is the link to the video, along with information on how to help: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/29269879/detail.html

All of the things I 'bolded' above were emotions and feelings I experienced when I was in the depths of my depression years ago. I was convinced that I was irrelevant and wouldn't be missed. Fortunately, I decided to get professional help, and between the counseling and medication, I climbed out of the abyss. I also got a lot of help from this book Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy, by Dr. David Burns. This book explains how we tend to take our negative emotions and exaggerate them to the point that they seem insurmountable, then it goes on to show how you can overcome that tendency wi

They don't allow smoking everywhere in the restaurant - just designated areas. I'm sensitive to smoke and I've never had a problem in the L5P Vortex. Lord, now I want fried zucchini!

police chase, perp wrecked on Macland

The URL is correct, but your quote was incomplete. The first two paragraphs read as follows: 'Georgia recognizes valid driver licenses issued to and held by residents of other countries as long as the "Out Of Country" license is valid (not expired). Generally, you may drive in Georgia for up to one year on a valid foreign or International license. You do not need to apply for a Georgia license unless you become a resident of Georgia. If you choose to become a resident, you must meet the following requirements for Identity, Citizenship and Residency:' Drivers From Other Nations -
Customer-friendly or not, I would *definitely* start charging people who are too cheap and sorry to tape their own pre-printed labels on their parcels. If they can afford freakin' toner for their printers, they can spring for some packing tape. And if they won't, they can afford to give you a buck for *your* tape. Heck, I feel guilty for dropping off my labeled and taped packages at the UPS store, but at least I'm not bumming tape off of them, too. I'm sorry about the theft of your tape kitty.

Actually, Marteen's quote IS correct in the sense that only those who become Georgia residents are required by law to obtain GA driver's licenses. Foreign visitors may drive on their valid out-of-country licenses, just as our licenses are honored if we visit other countries. -
When will there be a list of participating restaurants/food vendors?

IMO, this person was never worthy of your friendship to begin with. Don't waste any more time worrying about her and her situation, which sounds as if was *entirely* of her own making. And much as it pains me to wish unemployment on anyone, I'm pretty sure that any employer would be better off by NOT hiring her - that entitlement attitude doesn't bode well for her dependability as an employee.

Are you really a coach, as your screenname implies? If so, what portion of responsibility do YOU take for YOUR team's performance? IMO, coaches are much like CEOs in a company: the mentality at the top will influence the end product, and fair or not, they must bear responsibility for the actions of those who play or work for them. Oh and by the way, I daresay most of those players were recruited by Richt and his staff, so if they're bringing lackluster, undisciplined talent on board, shouldn't they take the blame for that?

I think you just buy 'em at the gate.

So Obama wants to spend money on upgrading schools...

Still waiting for an answer to my original question: Am I to understand that you, the teacher, and the assistant took these 'unneeded' supplies home? -

I understand that these supplies (which I assume were supposed to be part of science class experiments) were delivered to children who aren't taught science, so I understand the wastefulness of that. But are you saying that you and the instructors took this stuff for yourselves? Were there no other classes in the school that perhaps *could* have used these supplies, if not for science, then for some other discipline? PLEASE tell me I misunderstood that. -
I'm lazy, too, which is why I use Ancestry.com. It's not perfect, but I've filled out my family tree quite a lot using that site. Apparently some of my mother's family owned land in a portion of Paulding County named Weddington. I had never heard of it before, but as far as I can tell it was in south Paulding between Hiram and Douglasville.

OTOH, if you break down the cost by the *month*, an 'artist' membership is a LOT more dear than that of a commerce member: $40 per vs. $12.50 per. I think people would balk less at $20/month, and Pubby/P.com would still come out ahead.

Blue tarps usually mean a death. May God have mercy on all involved, including the first responders.

I think you should walk over, introduce yourself, then ask how much they want for the cars. When they look at you all , just explain that when you see cars parked in the yard, you just assume they're for sale.

Just one more reason I'm not giving up our landline phone any time soon. My cell phone is OFF unless I leave the house.

I'm glad that if the county employees *have* to have a day without pay, they at least get a day off that coincides with a holiday weekend. The admin jerks with the State always made us take our furlough days in the middle of the week.

Since everything is already pretty much planned out, could you give us the details in one post? It would also be nice to know what CAN be changed or adjusted and what's a done deal.

It sounds to me as if all of the logistics are already worked out, so I don't understand why you asked for input.
