The only way that would have been *more* fun is if it had occurred while giving a road test. Ask me how I know this.

Wow - sounds as if you'd better stock up. Apparently this stuff is pretty popular!

Exactly. Without documentation and verification, people could claim whomever they wish. And unless an employee is footing 100% of the cost of the insurance (in which case, why bother to go through an employer?) that company is getting ripped off.

I think his best bet for the Sunday, at least, is the Atlanta Arts Festival in Piedmont Park. That alone might be enough entertainment to last them the whole week!

Agreed. I had to provide our marriage license to the State of Georgia several years ago to prove that the man I had listed on my health insurance was really my husband. In more innocent times, you simply listed dependents and they took you at your word. Too bad so many people's word now is worth nothing.

http://www.exploregeorgia.org/ Ha - the Atlanta Arts Festival is that weekend!

Wouldn't you know that TOTS is *between* shows that week.

Sweet Jesus. Let me tell you something, you young whippersnapper: MANY women in their fifties are completely capable of doing anything they did in their twenties, only better.

I sit corrected. For me, 'Children's Healthcare of Atlanta' is a fairly new designation - when I was growing up, we always just spoke of Scottish Rite and Egleston. Here's another possible source in your search for a family: http://www.mycampsunshine.com/index.php

That's what I figured. Anyone I've ever seen using a private business as a cut-through to avoid an intersection pretty much roars through. If they stopped first, it would defeat their purpose. -
What have they enjoyed doing in the past? I thought of several things, but they're all daytrips. I thought of suggesting the laser show at Stone Mountain, but they might be too tired on the Saturday they arrive to go all the way out there. Too bad they're not coming the week before - that's the weekend of the Yellow Daisy Festival.

Last I heard, that alone is illegal (cutting through a parking lot to avoid a traffic control device). Wouldn't it be delightful if one of Paulding County's finest was in that Shell parking lot one morning when she pulls that stunt? -
Have you thought of having a fundraiser for the *hospital* rather than an individual child? You might be able to get ideas and assistance from CHOA: http://www.choa.org/Support-Childrens/Volunteering/Community-Volunteers/Friends-Volunteers/Organize-a-Fundraiser If nothing else, they might be able to help you locate a local family who needs assistance over and above whatever resources the hospital provides. I don't know much about CHOA, but Scottish Rite saved the life of a young family friend many years ago - she had a rare blood disorder that nearly shut down the circulation in h

I getcha. I ordered one pound, and the shipping was nearly as much as the product. OTOH, I intend to start out slow - maybe one teaspoon a day - and I figure a pound will last a while. Plus, if it works as well as you say it does, it'll still be cheap therapy!

I think there needs to be some clarification ... Tona is looking for *food-grade* diatomaceous earth, which would be a purer form than the kind used in pool filters or (ahem) explosives. Tona, based on what you and some others posted - and what I read elsewhere - I've ordered some online to try on myself. I don't have joint problems, but since several of you mentioned improvement in energy levels, I'd like to see if it will help me there.

Would that be Mrs. Jones? I miss her around here - and her fudge is delish! Heck, I'm sorry I read this thread now ... I would LOVE some peanut butter fudge!

Try the VRBO website.

My husband likes Sport Clips in Hiram.

EBay seems to be slanted more towards 'professional' sellers now - their fee structure is certainly not amateur-friendly any more. I think that's what makes it harder to find good deals. If you're on Facebook, you may want to post a want-to-buy post on some of the local garage sale/yard sale groups that have started. Who knows, you might get lucky and find someone selling the phone you want.

If you don't find any first-hand experiences on here, try Fodor's website - they review all the cruise lines.

That's the kind of reaction I have to fire ant bites.

Speaking strictly for myself, I can tell you that that doesn't help. Intellectually, I knew that others had gone through the same thing - and worse! - and that situations can change for the better, yada yada. I knew there were people who loved and cared about me. It didn't matter - my present seemed bleak and the future bleaker. The day I came home and looked in the medicine cabinet to see if we had anything in there that was strong enough to kill me was the day I finally realized that I had to get some help, if not to change what was going on in my life, then at least to help me cope with
