  1. Is the dog jumping the fence or digging under?
  2. Yep, we did the same. The surveyor discovered that one of our rebar markers was actually incorrectly placed - since it was the one nearest to our water meter, we guessed that when the water line was repaired several years ago, the water system peeps put the rebar in the wrong place. If you're already having problems with a neighbor, don't even *think* of having a fence put up without a survey!
  3. PC Online Garage Sale Hiram FB Garage Sale
  4. Well, I noticed that the admins for the Hiram group have stated that people may NOT advertise services in their group, whereas there are already people spamming the Paulding County group (IMO) doing that very thing.
  5. That's curious, because The Olive Tree in Hiram just had a post on here looking for servers aged 18 and up, and someone posted that those under age 21 *could* serve alcohol if they had a permit to do so. Wonder if that's something that Hiram allows and Dallas doesn't ...?
  6. The short answer? Almost certainly not. My United Healthcare couples policy runs about the same as yours - if you have a *family* policy (one that would include children), your price looks even better. As to whether it's worth it ... insurance always looks expensive - until you need it. One catastrophic event or illness can take you from someone who thinks s/he's paying too much to someone who thanks God s/he's paying so little.
  7. I worked at Rich's (RIP!) in the lingerie department when I was in college, and we would have people return ... uh, *intimate* garments that had obviously been worn. We would try NOT to accept them, but occasionally a manager would make us take them back. I can assure you that at Rich's, at least, those used undies never made it back to the sales floor - they were written off as damaged and destroyed.
  8. If the Aldi comes in on Cleburne Pkwy., and you like their products, that should work well for you. I plan on checking it out.
  9. Several of you have used the word 'authentic' is describing OT's food ... what makes it authentic?
  10. Well, probably not. They're both considered 'orphan drugs,' which means they were developed to treat a rare disease. Tracleer is used to treat three conditions of which I'm aware, and Tyvaso is solely for treatment of pulmonary hypertension (the disease I have).
  11. That's why I placed quotes around the word 'sample' - of course it's stealing. My point was that this doesn't just happen at Wal-Mart. I've seen people graze off of produce before in other stores. I'm just waiting for the day when one of these lowlifes gets sick from eating unwashed fruit or veggies they 'sampled' at the grocery store, then has the audacity to sue the store. Wait for it - it'll happen someday.
  12. I think that depends on the insurance. In any case, co-pays will work in your favor at least as often as against it. Two of the four medications I take cost a total of about $19,000 a MONTH. If I had to pay that, I would have had to die.
  13. Y'all are funny - like people don't 'sample' fruit at other grocery stores.
  14. I too have a budget. I also have a brain. I know my tag expires every year on my birthday, and I know that (so far!) my birthday falls on the same day every year. So I save for the occasion and make sure I have enough money beforehand. As someone else posted, it's not rocket science.
  15. Did you receive a notification in the mail that your tag fees were due? If so, you had FROM THAT DAY FORWARD to renew your tag. In Paulding County, you can even renew it online as well as by mail. Sorry, but I fail to see how waiting until the last minute is anyone's fault but yours.
  16. Here's the photo from ajc.com:

She can try on Etsy.com - if she doesn't see the exact pattern she wants, someone could make her one.
  18. No - according to the report, she received too much lidocaine, which is a single drug.
  19. You can take them up to the recycling center at the landfill. Check their website for the hours of operation.
  20. No no no ... that would be a bush hog.
  21. That has happened to us on a few occasions, too. With us, I was expecting a package, went online to check the tracking and discovered that delivery was 'attempted' on a certain date. Problem is, I knew I was at home on the day in question, and there was no knock on the door and no notice left. Are you dealing with the Hiram P.O., perchance?
  22. We don't have Comcast, but when we had connectivity problems a year or so ago, it turned out to be a defective phone wire in our crawlspace. Is it possible that there's a problem with your actual *cable*?
  23. Start slow. If he'd howl at the notion of losing his sweets, see if you can find reduced-fat/sugar-free alternatives. Lots of cookies, ice creams and puddings are now available with those options. They aren't perfect, but they're a start. Exercise is important too, but once again, start slow. If you have a Wii, see if he'd be willing to play some of the more active games a couple of times a week with you or the kids. It's awfully hot for outside exercise right now, but maybe he'd be open to taking a stroll in the neighborhood in the evening. If the whole family goes, maybe it will
  24. There should be a phone number on the citation - you can call on Monday and find out how much the fine will be. If for some reason you need to maintain a points-free driving record (for most people three points wouldn't be a big deal), you can go to court and plead nolo contendre. If the judge accepts your nolo plea, the offense will be reported to DDS but no points will be assessed. If you just choose to pay the ticket, it'll go in as a bond forfeiture (same as an admission of guilt) and the points will appear on your driving record.
