  1. Oh my, I'm so sorry. Your dad was a wonderful man. Prayers for your family.
  2. Yep, yep!! People here are much more helpful. Neighbors take care of each other, that's why I like it here so much.
  3. I have to go to the grocery store but plan on doing that around noon. I don't think I'll be going anywhere when the temps are still below freezing. There was a lot of melting snow and all of that will be ice tonight and tomorrow morning.
  4. That's what I was going to say. Jughaid, sorry those charts are created with selected data, I don't believe any of this multi million dollar crap. We have cleaned up our water and emissions are much less than they were 40 years ago since we stopped using leaded gas (that was their argument then). I cannot believe anything these ClimateGate idiots say, the data that could have told the "whole truth" was destroyed because it didn't fit their agenda or their paycheck. Go ahead a believe what you want, and I will continue to believe Global Warming, Climate Change or what ever you want to
  5. I agree with you Emily, slow down and take your time. Doesn't matter where you're from, if you're a bad driver, you're a bad driver. I grew up in Chicago and do not want to drive in the snow or ice. It's different on these hilly, curvy, black top roads.
  6. Just take your bra off and make some suction cups!! Oh my We are hi-jacking this thread.................Sorry PT
  7. Wonder who's going to video tape it for us while they're driving down the road???
  8. Funny how all that playing in the snow stimulates their appetites.
  9. L&LI, I had this same virus. I think it came from Facebook, not 100% sure but that is where I was just before the Porn and messages started popping up on my screen. My son (IT guy) came to my rescue and ran 5 different programs, each one still found it hiding somewhere. I think he cleaned it and I haven't had any more trouble. Last week my daughter downloaded the exact same thing from MySpace..............it was in an email. We have firewalls and very good virus protection that updates automatically (IT son, again) but it still got through. You're just going to have to take it s
  10. Went to Douglasville, had to get a part for the pool pump. Side roads still had some bad spots but main roads and I-20 were fine. Lots of melting snow and running water, it's going to be rough tonight when it refreezes.
  11. Yeah!!!! Glad they both made it home!! Your pictures are beautiful
  12. Drove from Yorkville to Douglasville. We left at 12:45, still some snow covered side roads, especially Woodrow Kay over near Pleasant Grove. 101 was fine but wet, I-20 is fine, wet and lots of salt!! By the time we can back about 1 1/2 hours later most of the snow has melted, the road were still wet from the melting snow and Woodrow Kay was still pretty icy in the same spot. Several cars on the side of the road and one buried in a tree on Woodrow Kay. It was still there when we came back. Get what you need and get back home before this stuff refreezes.
  13. I just want to say thank you to all the bus drivers. Y'all are awesome, I know it was very scary. The only mistake the schools made was sending the message that everything was "business as usual" If they had said nothing, they could have let the kids go home earlier. I didn't think we were going to get any accumulations, the weather stations were calling for 1 to 2 inches, we got 4. It was also 36 degrees at 1:00, dropped below freezing at about 3:00. The conditions deteriorated very rapidly, I don't know if they could have done things differently, based on what they saw and what the
  14. I'm stuck and loving it, got plenty of everything we need and we have power!!! (so far) I think I'll stay right here today.
  15. I won't tell anyone if you don't tell anyone.
  16. Oh, how sad . Praying for his family.
  17. Now I love nature, but I also love my creature comforts!! Freebird, you weren't prepared????
  18. Well, since you are the driver I have to believe you. Thank you for delivering those kids safe and sound. I'll bet you were a nervous wreck.
  19. Glad everyone made it home safe, I think they made the right call. I don't think anyone would want to make up more days.
  20. I can't live without electricity or water. He's in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 60 miles from my home town.
  21. I guess 8 or 9 would be just about right
  22. Been there done that, too. I have to say although that was a cold and damp tumble, it didn't quite measure up to the polar bear dip. Y'all are cracking me up!! Don't worry about Jughaid, she's well..........just Jughaid.
  23. OK I just measured, 3 1/2" and still snowing. I think it was probably a little more because it was above freezing when it started falling.
