  1. I agree. I have seen SNL step over the blasphemous line in past year, IMO. I thought this was cute and not offensive. Couldve been a lot funnier.
  2. girl. Have an 18 yr old boy so it's about time! She will be Virginia Fay "Mimi" after my late Mother. April 22nd-ish. Spent last night in the hospital but hopefully back home, in my own bed, tonight and feeling better. We could use some warm thoughts and prayers if you got 'em. Baby is fine, it's little OLD me that is feeling yucky. Thank you Pcom. We couldnt be happier.
  3. Just prayed for you and will continue. You are right, your Mom was with the Lord the nano second after she took her final breath here. Free of all pain, worry, sickness, distress, grief....she has been healed eternally. The body that will be buried today is only her shell, now emptied of her beautiful spirit. I love the thought of my Mother being on her "welcome party", ushering her in to Heaven-showing her the sights and leading her to where He is. If you havent read "5 minutes in Heaven", you'd proabably get a LOT out of it now. I read it just after my Mom passed and it gave me so much comf
  4. Go Falsies! Just take your time and practice a little more. You'll get it. Yours will grow in quickly. I know its startling but nobody will even know thank goodness to modern beauty products. I've never been big on lash curling b/c I love falsies almost more than I like food. But, I can see how this could happen! I wouldnt have thought of it but wow! I'm sorry and I feel for you. When something like this happens, other people treat it like its nothng but you feel like its being broadcast on the news and there are pics in Time Square. Your lashes will be back soon!
  5. IDK much about it either. We all know it's been brewing for a while, just waiting for something major to happen. I dont even know enough about it to guess how the outcome of our upcoming presidential race may effect this and that's scary. So volatile and, like TC, said, he's young. Young dictators can live and rule a LONG time and history shows this to be very menacing.
  6. Im glad you knew that b/c after I read LGM's post, it was bugging me too!
  7. Latter Day Saints are not the same as Jehovahs Witness. Yes, both go door to door but it amazes me that people dont know the most basic differences. But, that's beside the point. Doesnt bother me. Witnessing like that is part of their belief system(The Great Commission). They arent doing anything malicious and quite honestly, as long as they arent pushy after being told "no", I think Christians(including myself) could take a lesson from their determination. After all, the Great Commission was meant for all who call themselves Christians. But, Jesus said "the Cross would offend". Always has
  8. I'm still laughing about your post on what youre getting your husband. You have no idea the laugh-time I've gotten out of that.
  9. Did lots online and have not been to the mall. I'm spending more but last year, I skipped it all together. This year I'm back in my big Christmas mode and hope to finish up today and Monday then just enjoy the rest.
  10. way too controversial to try and discuss here. We all have our own opinions and some cannot talk about this without blowing up, name calling and throwing everyone who agrees/disagrees into the same pile. I have never hidden the fact that I am not the biggest fan, but I know better than to blast all police in general, especially here.
  11. I've found what youre saying to be true. I learned pretty quickly in dating that I could not expect ALL the positives and NONE of the negatives. I, myself, certainly could never be that to anyone. It's just after you've been in a toxic situation so long...when leaving is the only thing that seems more impossible than staying, it is easy to pick at every little flaw. But, with time, I think I've come to discern what is really important and what just isnt.On the "ugly down" thing...being in the image biz all my career(my entire marriage), it was a common subject between us and not only affected
  12. I understand what you're saying.I dont know all the ins and outs of doing something like the Marchman act, and honestly, on the surface, it goes against what I believe in as far as individual rights and personal liberty. However, I know firsthand from dealing w/ family with addictions, it DOES often work if you can get a person to just get clean long enough to clear their head and let them get educated on life lived sober, the effects on their bodies, spirit, family, etc. by abusing and them getting a glimpse of what a clean, sober, honest life looks like and how attractive it is. I have seen
  13. I love brussel sprouts, too. So many people just turn their noses up at them and are afraid to experiment. Funny you listed that as one of your favorites b/c my favorite holiday side is this one.....not only delicious(takes out all the "wickness" in the sprouts), but it is beautiful on your Christmas china next to a slice of crown roast or turkey with dressing and cranberry sauce.... . I've been making this for years now and I cannot tell you how many people love them and say they would normally not even think about putting brussel sprouts on their plate. Brussel sprouts braised in butte
  14. Exactly. I learned a lot in 16 yrs, especially what I would never choose to repeat. There are obviously some things we are attracted to the wont vary too much. I dont like short dudes. I dont like super skinny guys. Smoking repulses me. Horrible grammar, bad manners and womanizing will always be VERY unattractive to me. Things that wont change. But, some points of attraction become more or less important and I have realized over the years, different traits are attractive that may not have caught my attention before but there's the balance again of being attracted to what/who you are naturally
  15. and any reference about rainbows. He is a Reverend as much as I am a PhD.
  16. The REV-REND(best Rush L. voice) Jackson presiding. I'd be willing to bet the REV. Jackson couldnt list the names of the Books of the Bible if his life depended on it. But, I KNOW he could rattle me off a rhyming speech about corporations being the devil.
  17. with my family(extended)- aunt is an alcoholic and my uncle, her husband will go to ALL extremes to cover for her. Total enabler. Have one addicted to opiates...shes a mother of four with a husband who remains faithful even though she stays in bed in a self-induced coma 20+ hours a day(in her 30's)and he works 3 jobs to provide . Another opiate addict/alcoholic and mutiple members with gambling addictions to the point of having nothing and living off the gov. and any family they havent already drained dry.
  18. Though I'm a woman and you're not ...I agree with every point. Yes, looks matter. They matter to some more than others and I dont think its up to anyone to judge where on the scale they come in unless your priorities are completely out of whack. But, there are at least a few in each category you listed that would be deal breakers for me. As in first date, I spot it, thank you very much...Im going home. I was married to Clingy, Needy, Critical and (I'll insert one here...)controlling for almost 20 yrs. ALL of those traits only tend to get worse especially if you are not the type to enjoy
  19. Can I get an "AMEN"?! Well said LPPT! That is exactly how I look at it, too.
  20. Thank you. Thats sweet of you to say. I'm just trying to learn as I go, ya know? My Mother was known by everyone as a woman who had unconditional acceptance for everyone, no matter who they were or what they had done or were doing. But, she was a brick wall when it came to not enabling bad behavior. That, IMO, is the balance that is so hard to strike. But, being the Mother of an addict is something so enormous to me to even fathom. God Himself would have to tell me every move to make or not make. My heart goes out.
  21. wow . I have a friend who was in a very similar situation. He wasnt a user before they married and never had been an addict. Out of nowhere and it tore their family apart. Addiction is an evil thing and none of us are above being on either side of it without warning.
  22. you just made my bite of lunch go down the wrong way
  23. I didnt bother reading after my last post b/c of the smuttiness.Like a big, nasty yard dog but with no teeth to actually prove anything. I went with "teeth" as the metaphorical body part here as to not have this, the sequel thread, thrown into the Tonk as well.
