  1. We were doing some grocery shopping in Walmart the other day when 4-5 birds flew down and were picking at some of the produce. It was hilarious to see that most people who saw them responded like it was the most disgusting thing imaginable. My thought was that the birds were on most of the produce before it ever got here anyway so whats the big deal? I mean, yes, they SHOULD get them out of the store but it was just one of those moments when you realize how truly sheltered and spoiled we really are. I want to watch that this weekend. I HATE waste of any kind(especially when needy people co
  2. I went for the dancing with my girlfriends, too. Didnt know about the hookup thing but we would just go and dance then out to eat or wherever. We definitely didnt go to meet people. But, it was fun being around a crowd that was over 21.
  3. me too! It made me soooo miss my choir at Mt Paran Central in Atlanta. I havent found a church here yet with a choir I love as much. It is a great movie. Very well done.
  4. I saw the Dallas Theatre and it looked great! Great move, great music! Definitely will buy it asap. Kirk Franklin was a nice surpirse and tore it up as would be expected. Where was the church in the movie? I heard the food fight scene was Howards in Smyrna. Was the rock quarry scene in Paulding? Where else?
  5. I've been a couple times in the last year or two. Its an okay place. Older crowd but the music and dancing is pretty fun.
  6. I feel the same way. I look at him and see how easily a young and unassuming girl could be taken with his charm(and his expensive sports car, etc...) then to KNOW what he has done and realize what a monster he is. Natalies Mom is one strong lady. I cannot imagine having to deal with such an evil, spiteful and entitled acting slug.
  7. Snowball isnt the cat or anything, is it?
  8. I agree with both of you. I was surprised that it is being carried out this soon. The no appeals answered that. Think of Wayne Williams Jr....what 30 yrs yrs and still counting ? I support the death sentence but am never glad about anyone dying even if it is the just thing to do. The whole thing was unneccessary and so sad.
  9. I slow roasted pork chops(I do not do pig)for a few hours with olive oil, fresh rosemary and garlic....and macaroni and cheese. I had a baked potato with broccoli and cheddar while THEY ate the pig... . I can cook it, I just dont eat it.
  10. I watched a good bit of them reading it but missed that part. I did notice his constant fidgeting and just overall looks of disgust with the entire process giving no respect to any family that was there or watching. When they read the year he will be free, I could not wrap my head around a year so far away but he just looked bored and disrespectful of humanity, in general.
  11. That IS so sad. I can imagine it made Natalies Mother(and family)furious when he confessed seemingly easily claiming he felt so horrible about it. I cant get out of my mind when he tried to lure Natalies Mom into his web by taking money in exchange for the real story on Natalie, then backed out. Playing with her life and emotions like she is his puppet. He has led a spoiled life and feels entitled to do as he pleases. His Father isnt around to rescue him anymore. If the prisons there are as bad as I've heard, it is the perfect place for him. He will never make it there.
  12. When I was serving/bartending at Elevation Chophouse, we had a lot of prom and homecoming groups each year. I was STUNNED at the dresses most of the girls wore. The 18-21 yr old busboys never missed looking, thats for sure. My daughter would not have been wearing anything that showed skin like that. They were super low cut and high cut, skin tight and just overall suggestive in their style. A few here and there were very pretty, decent but still very "in" and trendy. It CAN be done. Parents are pushovers these days and let their kids run the show. If I had a 14-17 yr old daughter that 21 yr
  13. One really neat thing they can do is to be a page for a day in the Ga Capitol. My son did it twice and it was a great experience. He got to see so many interesting things which made politics, history and government more real to him. The Congressmen that he met seemed to go out of their way to be friendly, help him along and thank him for helping. Its been a few years but I know you can Google it and get some good info. There is a waiting list but its not horrible. The hardest part was dropping him off there in the early am but he had no problems and wanted to do it again.
  14. I had a Twinkie a couple yrs ago for the first time since I was a kid. I was so excited about it only to be bitterly disappointed to realize I thought they were much better as a kid. I didnt even finish it. It's probably still "fresh", laying in a landfill in Cobb County.
  15. I've always had sleep issues. The only thing that really works for me are sleep Rx's like Ambien. The OTC stuff does nothing for me. I have been sleeping really good lately though. Im pregnant, just found out Im very anemic and have been undergoing treatment and my dr gave me phenergan for nausea which makes me very sleepy. With this combination, I have been sleeping great for once.
  16. the preg question was mine. That is funny. I see funny and strange thread title combinations a lot.
  17. We were in seperate rooms(but the reason for divorce, in part, was I was afraid of him). Took a few hours. My attorney went back and forth from his room to mine negotiating with his attorney and the mediator sort of followed him around. Had to pay the mediator when it was over, on the spot. It was about $350 just for her part. We stayed out of court so I guess it was worth it but it was no fun at all.
  18. I used to get that I looked like Winona Rider when I was in my 20's and colored my hair very dark. Most ppl didnt know her name then. They'd just say I looked like the Beetlejuice girl. I get Tina Fey sometimes now.
  19. My Mom was really big on the Daniel Diet which is similar. She pretty much lived on it the last few years of her life. I am convinced it added years to her life and her doctors think so too. .
  20. Wow! What a thing to wake up to! My Pastor there in Marietta said he once had a member whose car was hit in a parking lot and it did a lot of damage. As he was walking out to his car(seems like it was at the airport....it had been parked a few days)car, he noticed the damage and noticed a note under his wiper. The note said, "all these ppl around me are watching and expecting me to give you my personal info and an apology, but I'm not doing that." Geeze! I have never forgotten that. You just have to remind yourself that there are STILL good, honest ppl in the world despite these crooked m
  21. I refuse to carry one of those UGLY diaper bags. I ordered one from Etsy but I'd really like one more, a baby sling and whatever else I can use that can be homemade. I really want to put my money back into my community instead of sending it to perfect strangers if at all possible. If you do this or know someone who does, please send me their link. Even though I'm no longer in Paulding, I consider it "home" . Here's the one I ordered. I wanted one that will match everything and can go with me to church and more dressed up places. I'd love for the other things to be trendy with an earth
  22. I miss West Metro since I moved down south. That place is AWESOME. Best pricing, VERY fresh everything and great service. Local is always better . That Kroger parking lot IS bad. It is one of those lots where they didnt bother to add many medians. Idiots who arent thinking of anyone other than themselves, can do the 35 mph diagonal across it from one end to the other w/o slowing down . Sorry someone did this to you . There are still good ppl in this world. When something like this happens, its easy to forget that. You reap what you sow, be assured. For the good or bad. Wishin
  23. Thnx GoBlue . That really does make me feel more at ease...realizing that's the remedy most everyone is telling me about. I guess it looks worse at this point than it really is. Cannot wait to wear my skinny clothes again!
  24. Sorry you went thru that and thnx for the good info . I guess, I am more worried about the baby b/c of it than me and Ive been pretty laid back til now even though Ive had lots of issues. Ive just never swollen before. It is uncomfortable and scary. Ill do what you all have told me for sure. It IS better today. I made myself go to bed early last night, put my feet up all night and I do feel better. I know what youre saying about HBP and it does run in my family. My grandmother was always VERY petite and didnt really fit the "predisposal" to it but battled it her entire adult life. Something
