I agree with CC. I think most people like them, and in that stage of life, enjoy something sentimental more than anything. One year I gave both of my parents memory books by Thomas Kinkade. I asked them to write in the books and give them to my son one day. The books ask questions about thier lives on everything from what their first room looked like to their first idea of who God was, their first date, first kiss, high school friends and memories, fashion trends, how much an ice cream cone was in their day, how they met their spouse, what they thought and did the day their grandchild was

Question about laptop power cord
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to pauldingretroteen's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have puchased 2 cord replacements for my laptop but a different brand. A few of them have different attachments to convert the cord for different brands. They arent cheap though. Probably going to be around $80-$100 at Walmart unless you find one online. The last one I did find online and it was about $30 less. -
Not for me but for my sweet Other Half. He is so sick with a head cold, sinus infection and bronchitis-like something, too. He has mild asthma that is triggered by cold weather, air, etc. It seems like whatever bug he has has triggered the asthma. I made him a dr appt but its a few days away, unfortunately. He's using Primatine Mist which does help a good bit(so Im stocking up on it before its gone at the end of this month) and I've been giving him something to help with the coughing and stuffy head symptoms. He has a nasty, dry cough, low off and on fever and sinus pressure. The coughing

About time they had someone REALLY good! It's been years since there was a half-time entertainer I really was impressed with. I will definitely be watching.

7 year old Jorely Rivera unfortunately found

That is exactly what I'm saying, too. Sad but true that you cannot take your eyes off of them for a second especially a place like this with peple driving in and out, walking around, coming and going. A babysitter would have to go through some rigorous testing from me before I would let them take care of my children especially outside of the home. -
Mother passed away Saturday Dec. 3
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to Quality Service Tire's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Im so sorry and I understand. I know there is some sense of relief when your loved one has been so sick and has had a lot of treatment that was hard on them. I was just thinking that tomorrow is 3 yrs since my Mother passed away. It's sort of hard losing them this time of year but then again, it has been comforting, in a way, to be surrounded by music, etc. reminding me of how great God is, how much He loves us and why he sent His Son. Sounds like you know where your sweet Mother is and that is the greatest comfort of all. Can you imagine not having that peace? We will all be together -

You cannot take your eyes off of your children ever. Sometimes you just have to tell them "no" if you or another adult cannot watch them. I have even kept my son home and told him "no" when he was invited to his friends house b/c I KNEW firsthand the parents did not watch the kids and let them wander the neighborhood and go into stores without them when they were in elementary school. A couple parents were offended and let me know but I decided, who cares! Let them be as offended as they want to be. I only get one shot at this in life and it is my sole purpose to protect my children no matt -
We've been on edge too since our house was broken into a few months ago during the day. Im no longer in Paulding...moved to Valdosta. I refuse to live in fear but I do take extra precautions and do the things I've learned to do(and not to do)since the break-in. We also added a big dog, started a Neighborhood Watch and another handgun to the mix. It's not just there...it happens everywhere really. You just dont know about it or pay attention until it's in your back yard. Neighborhood Watches DO work when they are done the right way and thats what we are doing. Just the other night, someon

I know all too well what you're saying about feeling sick like that. It is the worst! Glad you're eating again and feeling better. Hope the surgery was as successful as you wanted it to be. I know these things take time so if you have a bad day, dont get discouraged. I bet every few days you'll look back and realize how much better you're doing.

Having a nice day at home today with no morning, afternoon or evening sickness for once! YAY! And, just enjoying the season...cooking dinner and decorating Christmas stockings for everyone in the(immediate) family. 1 down and looking pretty...4 more to go. No complaints here. Thanks for starting such a nice thread, LGM.

Cucumbers are such a great idea! They are so cool and refreshing and their flavor goes well with so many things. Gonna try it and Ga Tornadoes recipe, too. Thanks Ya'll!

I went from ATT at $120/month for my Iphone(unlimited) to StraightTalk for $35/month for unlimited and I can still use my Iphone. I bought their version of it(their Smartphone)though and I honestly like it about the same as the Iphone. Both phones I ended up buying from them, I bought online from their website and were pre-owned/refurbished phones but look and operate just like new. The customer service isnt the greatest as your calls go straight to India and their english is horrible. Much worse than your typical tech calls routed there. I added a second line and called them a couple times.

holy moly! Thank you for giving me a case of the heebie-jeebies when I thought we were just merely looking for Tbar. On second thought, the Tbar heebie-jeebies are actually worse.

Halp! My Peanut Butter Fudge is not thick/hard,
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I know how you feel. I did it, too . I had always seen candy thermometers but never really thought of using them for fudge. I was thinking like hard candy, taffy, caramel, etc. It's one of those classic, very inexpensive tools though that you'll use forever now that you know and will have one . OH! BTW, once before the candy therm... I also had my sugar in my finished fudge come out very very grainy. It was almost like it didnt melt or if it did, only partially then a lot of it sort of "crystallized" together in small, little chunks. I coulda cried then, too. Again though, I re -
Yeah...I dont think theres anything wrong in publically posting YOUR own side of a PM. I dont think its wrong. Otherwise, any poster could accuse any member of pretty much ANYthing and say it was sent in a PM, starting an entire PUBLIC thread about it while accusing and pointing fingers to everyone reading. How is it that the accused shouldnt be able to respond with their OWN side on sent PMs.

Gipper Girl Rocks replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've been making fudge for many years and have had that hapen to me twice. I believe it is caused when the right temp isnt reached when you're stirring in the sugar, evap milk and whatever your recipe calls for. My pro chef friend helped me with mine and gave me that info. Unfortunately, it probably wont set up now. I started using a candy thermometer with mine and havent had that happen again. Sorry! I know how you feel. -

Made me homesick... GREAT pics and I'm so impressed with the bands and the floats. VERY nice! Dowtown looks beautiful, too. I havent seen it or been there since February.

I would comment in this thread about Cain but I wouldnt want the OP to feel "harrassed" and start an entire thread about it. But, IDK, it could be fun. Maybe I'll just put it on a PM.
