I officially feel old today, less than a month past
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
IDK how I would handle that but I can understand what you're saying on the facelift. I just think life is rough enough. If you can do something like that and it is not unhealthy and doesnt break your familys bank, then why the heck not? And now, it is so common. You dont need one but I think why worry what other people think about it temporarily if it is something that will liven up your life for a long time. -

I think so! You are in great shape, PSD. Makes all the difference. I have been so shocked lately when I've realized peoples ages in either direction(just kind of coicidentally). Some look amazingly older or younger than they are and its all in the way they take care of themselves unless there's some sort of illness that cannot be helped. On the AARP thing, I thought they were the uber-liberal group but was afraid to speak our of turn. I know that my Dad and a few other people use another group that is very similar in benefits but totally opposite on their politics and to where they donate. -
really cool site! Added it to my Favorites. Thanks!

Just Curious about a Bus I've been seeing
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to rsjett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I feel the same way, LGM. But, like I said earlier, the Elizabeth Smart case would still be screaming in my head.I guess though, the truth of it in life is, if you are gonna be "different" from what most deem as "the norm", especially in extreme like these people seem to be, you are gonna be questioned. Just part of being different. May not always be right or the most appropriate thing, but it's just the way it is....human nature. -

elizabethsmart.bmp You mean nosey like this? I'm glad one lady was "nosey" enough to help rescue Elizabeth. -

I probably wouldve been quick to say it's nosey a few years ago but I dont think its over-stepping now based on recent news trends at all. In fact, I think its a very good thing that you all have been so observant and have made it a topic. Just think of the Elizabeth Smart case. So similar on the surface. They travelled around, living in different places, but she said many times they wouldnt go that far. One lady took an extra few mins from her life and it led to finding Elizabeth after months of captivity. What could be wrong with asking a few questions about odd behavior? I agree tha -
I'm taking that tip, as well! Thanks for the great info! I am due for new glasses asap and making an appt is on my to-do list for the week. Your "glasses everywhere" made me think of... fredsanfordglasses.bmp

LGM, Sams has always been the lowest total price for me with the exam, glasses and 2 boxes of contacts which last me all year since I wear my glasses most of the time. I have always had insurance but Sams still beat that even if I've had to buy a membership(some years I have one already and some I dont). They are optometrist, not opthamologist, so it's not quite as thorough, but still serves the purpose. I shell out the extra for an opthamologist exam instead every few years then take my Rx to Sam's. I think we have similar tastes on what we call "cute" glasses and they have always had

that's what I was thinking . I do know what it's like to look around and see things happening to you that you thought ONLY happened to "old" people but you are far from that, LPPT. I think 50 is so much younger than it was even back when my parents were 50. Knowledge on our health, etc has come such a long way in a short time really. LPPT, use the benefits and enjoy them! -
there's a "missing cat" thread at the same time as "how do I get a cat out of a tree" thread . Dont get me wrong, I love my animals and theres nothing funny about them going missing but the irony is there. Life is rough, you gotta find a laugh in there wherever you can. I really do hope both posters get their kitty's back home and safe.

Agreed! I just wish I was closer and able to eat there more often. I feel the same way. I really wish there were more non-chain places here in Valdosta. These people REALLY get excited about Red Lobster and Ryan's . I am seeking the good ones out though, slowly but surely.

I really appreciate all of your encouraging words and your prayers! Reading them really gave me an extra kick and I am feeling better sloooowly but surely. I'm home and will start iron fusion treatments later this week along some other things my dr and nutritionist have planned for me. I'm super foggy-headed which is really on my nerves and sort of scary(i'm not driving, etc) but my dr and other people have told me it is normal for what I've been through and will get better. Thank you so much for your prayers and I ask you to please continue. Baby seems to be doing just fine and everyt

Good chinese food in this area is a tough one if you ask me. So many of them are only take-out and so "order by number". We used to go to the one on Dallas Hwy just east of Hwy 92,(I'll leave out the full name since I only have negative comments about it)"House of....". But, on my last visit there I happened to see the health score was VERY VERY low...like in the 70's low. I'm not even sure if they are still open but for health reasons, I would avoid it as I checked about 3 times after that and the score never got much higher.

The Olive Tree is so much better than The Olive Garden . Not even close in comparison. Not a corporate chain, authentic food, really nice atmosphere, great portion size/value and good service plus you're supporting your local/small business. I'd choose Olive Tree everytime over The Olive Gardens average and predictably boring, canned, "americanized" Italian. I dont even live in the metro any longer but cannot wait to get back to Hiram to eat there every chance I get!

I am so out of the loop right now but I will certainly be watching this! Shows like this are a "people watchers" dream. Thanks for the tip.

very cool info! Not to hijack but it reminded me of when I used to "check out" art(all types of media)from the main library branch in Cobb. It seems like you could keep a piece for about 3 months. I LOVED it and got so many "ooooh's and ah'ssss" about my "ever changing art collection"...lol. It was really only a piece at a time and I always displayed it over my fireplace in the livingroom. You could put yourself on a wait-list for pieces, too. That was my first house when I was newly married, having my now 18 yr old son and no extra money, it was a great way to decorate. I need to see if the

I'm overwhelmed sitting here reading all ofyour enocouraging posts. I cannot begin to thank each of you for every prayer and kind word!!! They did admit me again on the Dec 29th(last Thursday) and I just walked thru the door(home SWEEEET home!) about an hour and a half ago. Felt like forever. All of the advice from Mommies with rough pregnancies here has certainly been helpful to me...MORE than you can imagine. When you are feeling like death warmed over, it is really easy to feel as if you are the only freak of nature who has had to endure such craziness for what most people nearly

Thank you, Pcom family! I REALLY love reading your encouraging words and appreciate EVERY prayer.Looks like my Ddr will most likely admit me today. I am better than yesterday but far from great. LadyBug-Yes, it started with horrible morning, afternoon, night sickness which led to being admitted a few times for issues to do with being dehydrated. No matter how hard I tried to stay hydrated, everything just came back up. I tried EVERYTHING. even had to take long-term leave from my job. I still get sick like that now at 24 weeks about every 2 days which makes it nearly impossible to ke

I would CERTAINLY appreciate your prayers. I keep battling pregnancy issues every few days. Im on anti-biotics, meds, guzzling juice, water, Gatorade, resting almost 24/7 like my Dr suggested and eating ONLY healthy food trying desperately to feel better. I've already spent many days in the Er and in the hospital and really dont want to do that again. I will if it's best, of course, but home is so much more comfortable. The baby is fine per my Dr., its' just me. So, if you believe in prayer, I would so appreciate it. I'm asking God to guide me to do what will be best. I feel like death

What does Santa put in your stockings each year?

What are you having for dinner/supper?
Gipper Girl Rocks replied to CreativeOne's topic in RECENT TOPICS
baking pinto beans with a little chili sauce, cumin, garlic and one huge purple onion roughly chopped for 3 hours, tightly covered, in a huge iron skillet on 325 degrees. I did the quick two-minute boil method approach at the start and they are coming out of the oven now tasting perfect. NOT mushy and well done loaded with flavor and super healthy. Using leftoever chicken breasts drizzled with Valdosta honey and Jack Daniels bbq sauce, covered on the same low heat and same timing, in a small clay baker. Looking really tender and delicious. You may be surprised how many Tapas bars are usin -

well you are so creative anyway, Deewee but this is exactly what Mom and I referrred to as our "Drug Emporium" stash. it's closed now , but we would have the biggest time running around in there weeks b/f Christmas, lucking up on thing we didnt know exisisted! Some of the best Mother/Daughter bonding in our lives. I bet you shopped there, too. Dad, to this day will say...."If you couldnt find Fay and L getting their hair done or at church, check Drug Emporium, Mighy Caseys, the Mad Italian, Salvation Army/St James Attic shopping and Grandmothers house! WONDERFUL TIMES! Must be
