  1. Hey, we ARE in a recession, ya know .
  2. I agree. Classical music is not only calming but it has been proven to trigger parts of the brain that help with processing things, reasoning and putting things in order especially related to mathematics. I know some people dont buy into this but I believe it and have read tons of things from people who have used it for lots of similar reasons and it has worked.
  3. That is soooooooooooooo nice, Postman. Those will run you right out of the livingroom and heat your entire house with minimal fuel(wood). I used to have one. I could get a really hot fire going then only need 1-2 logs for it to keep burning all night. (I can build a fire better than any dude .) Good for you!
  4. I always love Dr John Rosemonds ideas. He is really big on only a few toys and simple ones at that....the classics. These last a lot longer and make the child think and be more creative. These toys dont overwhelm and confuse them with loud noises, lights, dead batteries, etc. I have always found most of these easily at Big Lots... dominoes jacks Lincoln Logs(I think these are great!) jumpropes hula hoops paperdolls doll house dress-up clothes(moms old dresses or thift store finds) playdough/clay You are a good mama. I know youll do whatever it takes to help her and give he
  5. My head is way down low in shaaaame... . I wont let it happen again, Postman. While I've been in this process, I actually bought the movie The Postman. I had never seen it but figured it had to be good. I LOVE it. I've watched it three times since. I can totally see you being the Postman . GREAT movie. I love that parachute line. Thanks for that. I have most definitely "jumped" here and it has surely had a few "sweating beading" moments but I've never been happier. Glad to see you're well. The pic of you and your Granddaughter is absolutely wonderful! I'm glad you shared it with u
  6. Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ...thanks! Thank you Madea and I will .
  7. I love a good burger every once in a while. Bobbys is good and I agree with the post on their service...its really good. 5 Guys is good too but when I think of the BEST burger, I think of BACKYARD BURGER! AH! How I miss it. Used to be on Windy Hill Rd. It smelled just like a backyard bbq and the burgers were by FAR the best. Theres still one in Destin so along with my crab legs and lobster, I have to have a Backyard Burger.
  8. Heehee....maybe so. Speaking of that, my Mother was a total earth-mamma. She splurged big time on this mega juicer a few years ago. She drank so much juice that she called me one night giggling to tell me that she was cutting back on the carrots b/c she was literally turning orange.
  9. I miss you friend . So many funny things have reminded me of you since Ive moved down here. Im FINALLY planning a trip back home for Nov and I am GOING to hear you play anywhere you are. So if you arent booked somewhere, we will bring the Ketle One vodka and yall bring the music . Hope things are better for you.
  10. I will. I should have taken before pics of the house but honestly it was so filthy and in disrepair that I couldnt convince myself to slow down long enough to take any. It is clean now and everything works but the previous owners painted every single room the very same kahki. Khaki, khaki, khaki . I feel like I'm in a gap store circa 1995 all the time. I'm planning to lighten them up and use Tiffany blue paint in my kitchen on a wall or two which is a total step-out for me but I'm gonna do it! I LOVE red front doors too. It will be homage to my wonderful Mother. She had a red front do
  11. Oh! well, that IS an idea. I was really curious about what she was planning to do with so many of them.
  12. I agree. Looks like "Hoarders-The Prequel". I have gotten really into couponing. I've watched the shows, videos, etc and extreme couponing will not work for me. But, I have learned how to find great deals and really save lots on my grocery bill. I've gotten a lot faster at it as it used to take so much time that I wondered if it was worth it. It definitely is but I'm not stocking my pantry with 200 jars of dill pickles....no matter how much I love 'em. BTW, I passed a lady in the store earlier toninght that had easily 100 fresh carrots in her cart and coupons in her hand. Now think about
  13. TT, Hey pretty lady with all the pretty furniture . You have such good taste. I may need your help as I go. I have been able to do quite a bit but mostly cleaning and repairing. Not to mention my house was broken into in broad daylight 3 weeks ago and I lost about $7,000 worth of stuff plus broken windows, etc. This weekend I'm buying my first cans of paint(yay!)and I'm starting by painting my very blah white front door....RED .
  14. Thank you and it's always good to hear from you! I'm so behind here. However, I've been skimming through The Postman's threads so at least I know this is still my Pcom .
  15. Finally settled way down here in south Ga. in my new house that was almost the death of me . It couldve been a reality show. I can't wait to catch up around here though. I have missed you people !
