  1. I think women definitely handle pain better than men. We are more vocal about it maybe but we can endure a LOT, especially if it's something like childbirth, where we KNOW it's coming and can prepare for it.
  2. A law against how people wear clothes. Yes, thats just what we need.
  3. Me too. I Ebay almost daily in one form or the other but never Craigslist. Way too many scary things have come from it.
  4. Well said. I was thinking along the same lines. Serial killers, etc start out usually by abusing animals then move to more predatory things with people while they become more and more demented. So, did one of the threatened women repot him? How did they get the tip?
  5. I've heard both of their children talk about them. Snoop's daughter(who has special needs) had wonderful things to say. Marthas daughter...not nice at all...pathetic, actually.
  6. The comment from the poster about stopping to check/ help was ridiculous. it is unsafe to do that for MANY different reasons and not a reasonable idea at all. They were only trying to stir the pot. Ridiculous, irresponsible, rude and assinine, too.
  7. I always find it on the laundry aisle at Publix...usually top shelf in every store. I LOVE that stuff. I even use it for garden recipes such as bug repellents, etc. I keep a bar in my laundry room and a cheese grater. I grate maybe a tablespoon or 2 right into the washing machine(while it is filling) when I have really heavily soiled pieces to wash.
  8. I was "wishing" on Ebay the other day in the vintage clothing area...oooohing and ahhhhing over 1940's and 50's stuff. He made me move over(which I thought was really sweet) and bid/won a piece that I was loving. He said it will be for Valentines Day. IDK yet what I'll do for him. I've never been very big on Valentines Day...ever....til now . I'll come up with something good, I think.
  9. thats a bit of a stretch in most cases to consider that a real option.
  10. I can see your point and agree with you. It is easy to judge quickly but the longer I live, the more I do realze that you never know how someone got where they are or the circumstances of their situation/life. For me, seeing a preg woman smoke is just overall sort of shocking and looks "selfish" on the surface in a snap judgement. But, I see what you're saying and details change everything...no one owes me or anyone else their personal details...you just never know.
  11. I dont understand why so many people are having an issue with the rest of us discussing smoking while pregnant in a negative light. Afterall, that IS what the topic is about. It is in the title . Thats what we were supposed to talk about. We arent just randomly bashing women who smoke while they're pregnant. If you'd like to discuss being overweight or alcohol vs. smoking, you would do a lot better to start your own thread with that as your topic .
  12. I feel for you! I am pregnant too but Im 39 and have had a lot of complications, bed rest, time in the ER and hospital. I just moved to Valdosta last year so its all new to me but there isnt anyhwere that delivers here except pizza and one chinese restaurant . I can deal with those but it gets old quick. There arent many options here at all. I hope you find some really good food that will come to you soon! I used to have a friend in Paulding who was a chef and would deliver wonderful meals. I used her when my Mother was ill(brain cancer)to make life easier on her and my Dad. If I think of
  13. That is a great idea. It is now quite an exciting treat to get anything handwritten and in the mail. I love to write and I LOVE elderly people. I will send something to her tomorrow and then again here and there...maybe every 2 weeks or so if you think thats okay and not too much. Just a few little words can really turn your thoughts around and brighten your day considerably. I will also pass this along to a few good friends who love this sort of thing. Very nice and thoughtful of you to post...
  14. Amamzing how much we've learned in such a short amount of time. I'm sure some things they tell us to do now will seem archaic 20 years from now, too.I am on prescription folic acid and iron in addition to my daily pre-natal vitamins. My dr stresses how important folic acid is during pregnancy MUCH more than my dr did when I had my son 18 years ago. I live with chronic pain and have for 3 years b/c of two completely degenerated discs in my lower back(epidurals wont even work anymore). I consulted with my dr's well before I got pregnant about how I was going to handle things. The only thing
  15. I am a laundry junkie! Theres something really wrong with me, Im sure, but I love doing laundry. I make my own and use essential oils as fragrance. They are all natural, not "oily" and a little goes a long way. I wouldnt use any detergent that didnt make my laundry smell good. I love fresh, clean, yummy smelling linens and clothing. When I make my detergent, I make a 5 lb bucket full and add 40-50 drops of essential oil. Then, as I use up the detergent, I keep the oil handy in my laundry room and add a few drops here and there to the bucket. My favorites for my detergent are lavender
  16. My MIL says that when she was pregnant in the early 70's, her dr TOLD her to smoke(she did already anyway)b/c she was so stressed b/c her terrible marriage. He told her it would calm her down. Can you imagine that now? We have learned so much in a very short amount of time....smoking, tanning, etc.
  17. I also tried using the Lemon Law with my truck fiasco but there are sooooo many loopholes in it that it ended up not helping me at all.
  18. Okay. I get all of us idiots confused from time to time...sorry.
  19. I have had NOTHING but very bad luck with those trucks and I have had 3. We bought one a few yrs ago from the Hardys. BRAND NEW Ford F-250. Loaded. After MONTHS of breaking down and calling tow trucks all over the city, Hardy let it sit in their shop for 6 weeks without doing anything claiming they were not allowed by the warranty to work on it until they knew what the problem was . It was my husbands work and personal truck. So, while it sat there(brand new remember), he had to use a company vehicle which meant giving up a larger share of his commission so we were losing money from every an
  20. Thank you, MO3. I didnt call anyone ignorant or anything else. I actually said a few times that they are entitled to their opinion without even saying I thought they were wrong, off base, etc. An opinion isnt right or wrong...its an opinion. I can discuss topics that are touchy without personally attacking people better than some. Only reason I can think of for that is that I am not threatened by anyones elses opinion as it doesnt add or take away from my own. I thought it was a good topic to discuss. I didnt expect everyone here to agree nor do I expect that anyhwere in life. But, unless s
  21. Okay, thats your opinion and you are entitled. I'm just glad I had a mother who would do ANYTHING for us....ANYTHING. I want to be that way, too and Im trying. Not talking about "spoiled", Im talking about what is best for your child(which spoiling isnt, as a sidenote).
  22. I dont think so, but again, thats my opinion. Why would any good mother do anything KNOWING it was hurting her child and it is not necessary to her well being?
  23. oh, come on. Its a thread on a public msg board. Its my opinion. Yours is just as valuable.
