  1. I agree with Thompson Cigars .com-I buy Ed's there. They have a great deal on a cigar "kit" right now-$19.99 for a 12 cigar assortment, humidifier, cutter and lighter. They may not be top rate, but Ed found them to be a good variety, and enjoyed trying ones he had not before. It made a nice gift as well for some of the men on my list, without breaking the bank. As far as a really good cigar-Ed prefers the Arturp Fuente Hemingways that someone else mentioned. At the shop, they usually cost around $10 each, but you can get a heck of a deal through Thompson-I think they were $75 for a box-don't
  2. maybe it's just the coke!! (not the pop!) The Stones look like "A Picture Of Dorian Grey" ! somebody's sold their soul to the devil, and he's about to collect!!!!
  3. A chained dog is a mean dog-always!!
  4. OK-just got to add my two cents-for whatever it is worth. My kids grew up with an 85 lb Pit Bull, a 125 lb German Shepard, and a 95 lb. Doberman-greatest dogs on the face of the earth!! They were raised to protect, but they were also raised to be gentle with children and other animals. It had a lot to do with training. When we 1st got the pit bull, he just wanted to tear up our pet rabbit. It took several weeks before we could let Puffers out to play again, but in time, that rabbit became "Bubba's" best friend, and his own pet bunny. He cleaned it and slept with it. Our chickens rode the b
  5. DITTO- you just know when God has a hand in something!
  6. So-who is giving whom the enema??? Just curious.
  7. Call Ed at Pcs-770-577-2409. You'll get a great job and a better price than most will charge
  8. I was born and raised just outside of New York city, and moved away when I was 21. I live in a subdivision on 3/4 of an acre. We do have gardens for food, and I raise veggies on the back deck in huge pots. I have a large pool to use for water. I am well stocked up on food and can last at least 6 months. I can can and dry food as needed. The "farm" I own is only a couple of miles away, and has a well and lots of space to grow more crops . I have renters that would "share crop" for use of the land, which is not included in their lease. They have a large flock of chickens and goats for milk. I ha
  9. Animal control told me they don't have the time to answer calls about chickens, so you are safe. They hardly have the time to answer calls about vicious dogs in the neighborhood-never mind harmless animals. I have 4 chickens right now, and will get 2 more in the spring. We had one die (diarehha??), and another got beheaded by a possum. 6 gives us more eggs than we can use anyway. We give a lot away. We do freeze them for the less productive times. I put them into a 1/2 qt. rubbermaid container. You can mix them up (for cooking or scrambled egs) or leave them whold-they poor out pretty easily
  10. Please keep in mind that most gold buyers DO NOT take into consideration any stones in the gold (even diamonds!!) They purchase based on the gold weight alone. You might actually do better selling the items yourself on line. Just be careful not to have people come to your home for the purchase-to risky!! It's right before Christmas, and many are looking to purchase items at a fair price. Try one of the yard sale sites (Bentwater Seven Hills Online Yard Sales-on facebook, is a good one. Quick sales - nice people), or sell it right here on Pcom. Always meet in a public place, and bring someone
  11. We do a real tree too, so not until after Thanksgiving. I love all the holidays, so I enjoy them in their own season. We also do several fake trees throughout the house-grandson's room, back and front decks, etc. I do start shopping early though (gotta get those good deals, none of which are available late in the season.) I start shopping on Dec. 26, and I'm usually done by now except for the "big" gift.
  12. I grew up in New York-not to far from the city. We walked everywhere for candy-started as soon as we got out of school. We even hit the apartment buildings once we got older!! No one asked who we were or if we were from that neighborhood-and that was NEW YORK-where everyone is more stand-off-ish and wary of strangers!! This is the south, and the country (ok, "berbs", but you know what I mean!) Lighten up-it's a kids holiday, meant for fun. It's no fun walking on a main street and having to go 1/4 mile between houses!! It's also not safe. Get what candy you can afford and hand it out to anyone
  13. Picked up a pumpkin last month in the mountains on our Grandma/Grandson camp out in Tallulah Falls. He carved it yesterday for the Cub Scout pumpkin contest-BIG, BIG, pumpkin!!!! He didn't win anything, but he did it himself-knife in the head and blood and all!! I was proud of him. I didn't decorate this year-1st time ever!!!! Had so much going on-even had to deal with a dificult client!!! That almost never happens to me since I moved here. I have been blessed with the greatest customers. The one before this even invited us to their family birthday party, and baked Ed a special pie.. Sweet fa
  14. relatives in Long Beach Long Island (New York), have posted pic this morning. There streets are already under a few feet of water-it is coming into the basement. Landfall is not expected till this evening, and seas will be very high due to storm surge and the full moon. This looks really bad!! They are just 2 blocks from the ocean.
  15. WHOOPS!! Left out the "S" meant venison-deer meat!! Love the stuff and eat lots of it-meatballs, stuffed peppers, spaghetti sauce, stoganoff-any that would have ground beef, i make it with venison. Usually have to add some fatty beef though, because there is almost no fat in it. No that there is FUNNY-gave me a good laugh!!!!
  16. Now that there was so funny I just busted up-thanks for the laugh. HMM, I think I'll name this one the Screaming RAST-A-FRAT-A-RAZAMUS. I like that
  17. Yea-they gave him that at the hospital-great stuf!! He was ok the rest of the day-useless, but OK-LOL!!Today is another bad day. I'll go out and get some lemons and make lemonade-after all, that is sort of the story of my life!! Paramedics also told me about the beer-will try that too!! Anything to move this thing along the way. Never heard about the aspargus, but very willing to give it a try-got some of it here too-we love the stuff. I'll have to go back and see what you said to try with it. I'm all for the natural alternative to anything!! We are self employed, and the hospital bill is go
  18. Took Ed to the hospital this morning after on heck of a bad night. Finally, with him praying that God would take him and put him out of his misery, we headed out. Spent a surprisingly short time there-just a few hours, and had a great group of people help us. Now, we're home waiting,- well, for you know what. This may take some time-any suggestions??? Anything anyone found or know of that may help time (or anything else-AHEM) pass? This is a new one on me-live and learn I guess. I was told today that Venion is high in uric acid ( one of the culprits in stones I guess??) Never knew that. We
  19. I"m sorry for your loss. Many years ago, when my Bubba's time came, the vet sent me the "Rainbow Bridge", and it still hangs on the board above my desk. I read it once and a while and it still makes me feel good! Loved that little comic also-I often imagine Bubba standing watch looking for me.
  20. Most people don't know that eggshell, although a nice texture, shows every blemish in your wall much more than other finishes. It requires much more wall prep, and is not forgiving of small mistakes. Eventually, if you want to cover it with another texture, flat perhaps, you have to at least smoke it with a primer for the new paint to adhere uniformly and properly. Just a bit of info for any who may be interested.
  21. OK-a few more specifics please! Counters, I am assuming? Post me and I'd be glad to give you some options
  22. You know that's right!! He's downright nasty to some of them. One used to find their food from the refrigerator on the floor in the morning. I guess it was his version of " GETTTT OUTTTTT"!! Yet, others only heard him walking around. He is there though.
  23. WE bought a house in Dallas and fixed it up to rent. The previous owner had started the remodeling, but died before it was completed. He lay ther dead in the living room until someone found him. There is a big spot in the middle of the floor where he lay. While we worked, there would often be a "presence" that you could feel. sometimes you could just catch a glimpse of the old man in the corner of your eye. He never bothered us. There was no feeling of menance. Personally, I think he liked the work we did to finish the place. I always said hi to him and let him know he was very welcome. Now
